Yes, I think Sam is best for companionship and sex. Auto mechanics probably…cooking, eh, not so much.

Jeeves? Cooking? Right alongside the robot that was recalibrated to flip 300 burgers per shift.

As for Jeeves babysitting the girls, I can imagine a scene from Young Frankenstein, where the monster plays with the child, and tosses her through her 2nd floor window into her bed.

Zed, yes, you’d BETTER be good with that, if you want any further cuddling, companionship, and sex.

All that is needed is the proper programming.
Gourmet meals might be outside of his abilities, but nutritious meals would not be impossible as long as the programming includes ability to measure.

The ability to measure would be the forte of a machine. Things like time and temperature control would make them far superior to most cooks.

I don’t know. Men think with their stomachs secondary to their nethers. Feed the howling beast in the belly and groove it off. Such exercise burns a lot of calories.

Maybe Jeeves could borrow my copy of the Philadelphia Tavern Cookbook. When the weather clears the heat out, I may tackle Martha Washington’s chocolate mousse cake…. with ice cream, of course.

Not all men, Delilah but both are like a form of appetite.

My girlfriend might be a unicorn. She loves to cook whereas I love to bake desserts. We’re well matched in other appetites as well.

Delilah, the TV series “A Taste of History” with the Philadelphia Tavern’s Chef Walter Staib, is simply outstanding. I currently have 32 episodes stored on my DVR. I’d rather re-watch these over and over than most of the PC dreck on the other networks’ shows.

I hope that becomes available on DVD, as I do not have a working TV right now and don’t really want one. (The mind=numbing stuff!) I am fascinated by the way food was not only prepped for meals, but how it was cooked without the regulators we use now on appliances, and how it was kept safe without refrigeration.

I did not know about Rumford fireplaces with side ovens for baking until I bought Chef Staib’s cookbook, and also Hannah Glasse’s ‘Art of Cookery’, which has practical advice for everything related to food. Now, I want to give it a shot myself, because I have my grandmothers’ recipes for things you won’t find in a modern cookbook and they used the ‘slow’ oven (warm) versus the ‘quick’ oven (hot) which is a skill highly to be desired.

Mrs. Glasse wrote and published her cookery book in the late 18th century and it is still selling today. And the Fanny Farmer cookbook is also available. I may have an old copy of it some place.
The thing is, when you’re down to the basics and have to rely on “primitive” methods for storing and cooking food (as in a natural disaster), some of this can keep you going.

As the old joke goes: anyone who eats three times a day, ought to understand why cookbooks outsell sex books three to one.

Yeah, Nope! History has shown that a lot of women just lay around and get fat if they have nothing to do. Look at many, many paintings of rich women and harems for example.
Even in India their are Many fat women. A few where I have been a guest, have skinny daughters and/or other women to do the work.

It is now a truism that we in the West have become so successful that we have outrun nature and even the least tendency to get fat is amplified by the combination of cheap food and lack of something physical to do. It even allows destructive fantasies (like Marxism) to flourish for lack of contact with the real world.
That lack of contact has, sadly, led to a laziness of mind as well, to the point that too many of us simply don’t recognize the threat to our civilization of those lean, hungry, and ignorant invaders who covet what we have.

Sounds like the final chapter (or two) of RAH’s “Farnham’s Freehold”. Hugh Farnham’s wife, Grace, overweight and pampered, elects to stay behind in the reversed future society.
