Wow, three hours later and no comments…?
“Set comic to stun,” I guess!
disappointment that the cleanup was not completed
Kilingons use disruptors, I doubt there’s a stun setting 😉
Federation devices translate all vird’dakaasei as ‘disruptor’, regardless of their actual operating mode (the term translates more literally as the ‘shake-it-until-it-falls-apart tool’). High-end disruptors (as opposed to cheap sonics) suppressed and restored molecular bonds many times a second; shipboard disruptors were nicknamed “The Sound of Destruction”.

DC — the Ur-Anus of the continent. And constipated to boot. The ship needs a bowel prep medication beam to fire on the site with no mercy…
Well, all of that Depends.(tm)

The “Klingons” in DC are best described as the ones that occur when not wiping well after a bathroom visit.
Washington D.C. – 68 square miles surrounded by reality.
Is there any reality left in Baltimore or northern Virginia anymore? It’s certainly lacking in Richmond and Annapolis.
“Dog ticks, bed ticks, and politics- – – – -they’re all a bunch of parasites!”
Mark Twain? If not, it’s an opinion he would probably endorse heartily!
I believe it was Mr. Clemens who once remarked that politicians are the only distinctly American criminal class. Particularly those of the career persuasion.
Klingons have far more honor than the things inhabiting DC.
I’d suggest the Borg, but D.C. would just assimilate them.

Re yesterday’s post about “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross. It may be out of print, but copies can be obtained fromAbebooks.com. Be forewarned, however, they are somewhat(?) pricey . . .
The author made it available online:
John D. Egbert, I’d like to have a copy… but this’ll have to do:
There are a couple places can view it pdf.
Saw an interesting comment elsewhere tonight:
Folks, our local, state and federal governments have all been hijacked; they’ve told us to sit down or they’ll release a bomb. Do we comply, or rush the cockpit? Only ¼ of 9/11 planes’ passengers did not comply, and the US Capitol was saved. A dual tragedy?
[very dark mood]
Remembering the Anniversary today, it seems that perhaps the attack accomplished the goal by loosing a bureaucratic “Safety over Freedom” Cancer that has done nothing but metastasize for 22 years.
POGO WAS RIGHT!
