Hmm, if he were my son, I’d take him totally off grid with ZERO access to any tech with the exception of a Ticonderoga #2m a pad of paper, shovel, hoe, rake and a whole barn full of Cows, Chicken Coops and a Piggery needing cleaning.

I made similar “improvements” a number of times in my career. Sometimes I later learned there was a good reason for the system to be running hobbled. Sometimes those reasons were engineering reasons (parts ran too hot, or equipment outran human attendents). Sometimes they were administrative reasons (records retention or logging requirements). I had to learn the lesson that sometimes the improvement that was obvious to me was lacking not because I was smarter than the designers, but because the designers had good reasons not to include it. Something our boy David Hogg has definitely not learned.

Just because you CAN do something, it does not mean you SHOULD.
And don’t “should” on yourself, either.
Meantime, go sit on the quiet chair and read this book: “Have Spacesuit – Will Travel”.
Keep up the disruption boy, that’s exactly what we need.
But have Dad watch your back because you are fucking with the job security of a whole chain of vested interests here who would slip you a Clinton style response in a heartbeat.
But yeah, keep it up…fuck their crooked-ass coal-fired driverless bullshit.
I’d like to think the kid knows the truth…that there is no -repeat no- bs feelgood gov subsidized -meaning stolen from our pockets- new-age electric public transportation scheme that comes anywhere near self sufficiency and all -repeat all- are ridden with corruption and exist only because of it. The primary purposes of public transportation are graft, corruption, and feel-goodism.
The politicians get the graft, which feeds their corruption. The people who hate civilization and humans generally get to feel good about punishing people for existing by treating them like cattle.
Not to mention spying on them to make sure they’re reading something “proper” like the Utne Reader as opposed to, say, Guns or U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings.
(NB; about the only “publications” I still more-or-less trust, and I’m not so sure about USNIP any more.)
Not to mention watching the “sheep” being savaged by the “privileged” groups (i.e. gang bangers and etc.), and getting off on the bloodshed like patricians in the Roman coliseum.
