    Kiko,

You may look like your Mom, but you are starting to act like your Aunt Skye.

No, Jack just needs to let it go for now. Kiko is right, she is way too young.

History shows she really isn’t. Traditionally, folks who marry their first love have the bestest, longest lasting marriages.

Women, for instance, for every ride on the carousel the odds of their having a fulfilling, happy marriage drops.

True dat. I’ve been married to my only love for 54 years. Her parents made us wait a year before we got married at 18.

My three best friends all got married at 18… and all are still happily married.

Like we useta say: There it is.

As I was told at a very young age; “don’t go fall in love with the first girl that smiles at you”. She’s not ready, and he needs to respect that and back off a bit. Her mom waited to get married, so it might be genetic. There’s a great big world out there. They both need to get out of their little town and do some exploring. Not necessarily lookin’ for someone else, but to grow and see the world before settling down to the ranch and most probably a batch of young’uns.

Don’t know if she’s necessarily too young, but she ain’t ready. And as long as Zack’s components ain’t together yet that’s all that matters.

      Nobody’s “ready”.
Marriage is a step into the great unknown for any first timer. We’re not born wise. The closest we can get to that is to make an honest effort to observe the triumphs and follies of our elders and hope for the best.
Bren is quite correct. In the realm of marriage oddly enough “ignorance is bliss”. The knowledge that there might be something better out there poisons a relationship that will always require our full attention and support.
Granted, mistakes can and will be made. But getting an early start just means you have time to make good.
One way or another we’re _all_ on the clock.

Could not agree less with those who say the girl must decide right now.

Ironic coming from someone who was a married Daddy at 17 (as was wifey), and that was 51 good but sometimes hard years ago, but by “ready” what we mean here is there is no rush to lock herself into a lifetime of unknown until she has considered what all that means and what the options are. Jack ain’t going anywhere (for better or worse) and her parents ain’t either, they will be there both as example and support when and if she takes the plunge…and as I recall they both had quite a bit of life experience before they got together, and that seems to have worked out very well for them and their family too. And let me strongly disagree that there is any parallel *at all* between Kiko’s deciding to wait a while and the random bed-hopping whore that her Aint Sky was, quite the opposite making a forever decision with your brain as well as your heart, as opposed to making it with your libido and badly crossed wires in the noggin as exemplified by Skye, and bet Kiko was watching and learning.

The wild card as I have mentioned is if Zack makes hisself known sooner than later, and then Kiko and Jack will do the right thing and very likely have a long and happy family life on the ranch. Referring back to my personal example, ask me how I know…

Matching boots. How romantic. And the positioning of the attire on the baby blue with the top down bodes well for the dynasty, I suspect. How I love comic time (and if “re-entry junk” isn’t double entendre, I don’t know what is…)

She already said once that her relationship with Jack was physical. I think she wants sex, not a husband. Like the lyrics to Night Moves say, “I used her and she used me and neither one cared. We were gettin’ our share.”

Now Jack looks to care. Kiko not so much. When Jack “proposed”, she looked scared.

Perhaps, but they are not barely 17 (they are at least 19) and they are not barely dressed, as evidenced by the wardrobe laid out on the trunk.

Somehow, if they ever get around to saying “I do,” I doubt they will end up praying for the end of time.
