Yesteryear? Not sure if diet or genetics, but don’t think the witches had much to float back then.
And it should be Do(i)J, Department of inJustice.
It’s Newspeak just like “1984”
Adipose tissue is lighter than water, silicone is heavier than water – real ones float.
Wait, wait, wait, wait… Can it be that for over two millennia we have had it wrong all this time about why Archimedes cried out “Eureka!” stepping into the tub?
Pure adipose is buoyant. Add bones, muscle etc., and the body becomes neutral to slightly negative.
(Append tomy previous reply)
Archimedes was looking to measure volume, not mass IIRC
Pretty odd pillow talk…er, pond talk.
Not to put a damper on the festivities but where are the skeeters?
Sam makes Zed spray for them.
It’s winter in Texas should not be any skeeters!
It’s not winter where the DD Ranch is. I’m further north and we’re strong into Spring. This weekend saw our rivers full of tubers and they were not dressed for winter water. Only the Panhandle and far North Texas (DFW) are still suffering from winter.
Oh, yeah. And the skeeters are already out.
Don’t kid yourself. We’ve got skeeters in March. Our bugs are tough.
No skeeters, chiggers or fire ants … or mesquite flowers seen here yet. Got bluebonnets and a yellow rose. Nice time of year … if one puts ‘the news’ on ignore.
Lived in Ft. Worth for three years. Still remember the acres and acres of blue bonnets, with the ocasional indian paint brush.
We’re starting to see bluebonnets here in North Texas. I love early spring here. Millions of wildflowers you never see in California.
Yes, I’m a transplant, but I was never a Californian. I was just trapped there by my husband’s job for 30 years. When he retired we left so fast you could see the vapor trail.
Early for pond lillies but those are flourishing with a blossom.
So much to Pond her…
Yes they do float. Was admiring the wife’s in the hot tub last night.
Timely theme and topic.
Last week I was watching Bill O’Reilly’s cable show and O’Reilly mentioned later on this year he will have a new book titled “Killing The Witches” about the events leading up to the Salem Witch Trials and their aftermath.
Some have said that history has a tendency to repeat itself …
Take a look at the age of the “Witches” of Salem. It was more to do with $$$$ as in the form of Inheritance than Spells
While we all would love to be in their ‘position’ as personal choice is for which one of them; the country is imitating “Thelma and Louise”.
“Two of the three branches of government are not being run by the people elected to do that job. That isn’t representative government, it’s a monarchy with titular figureheads who are there to give the public the illusion of democracy over the reality that D.C. runs itself.
Elected officials have become ceremonial while the real power was unceremoniously and unconstitutionally vested in men and women who wield a great deal of authority, but who are neither known nor accountable to the people they serve.”
I’m still thinking about the naked wedding.
Since those randy young’uns are using their pond time to pond-er (as a wit upthread said) the dangers and evils of the actual puppetmasters, speaking of the (actual) Great Satan, the radical lib gov in the guise of Biden and his thugs who control our economic system in the Fed, the Treasury, and FDIC plan to steal your money to reimburse the bad investments over 250K -which they knew were uninsured- of their rich cronies in that Cali bank failure. That will set the pattern for complete takeover and control of the banking system.
We might be witnessing the beginning of the end of our financial control and independence from them as they right out in the open embrace and employ their guiding principle of “From” and “To”, edited to mean from us and to them.
They time is drawing near. CRA Now!
“No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer.”
What? Does that dumb bitch that holds the keys to our entire economy believe that just because she can crank up the presses to manufacture scrip and “reimburse” billions in free money to millionaires, and that government money is not our money? Holy shit.
You just called it out loud.
The Elites consider any money under their control, be it taxes, borrowed, or printed, as their personal property.
The advent of the Central Bank Digital Currency will be the culmination of this because the money itself will be theirs to dole out at their whim and any who use it will be their slaves.
The Federal Reserve (a “Progressive” project, like the income tax) needs to die, and the sooner the better.
Sound money lets the productive save and demotes the looters to the bottom of the heap where the Law can actually get to them.
Much as the same Elites consider our children their personal property.
Well, first they print “money” at high speed, then steal everything we have, which leads to “You’ll Own Nothing and You’ll Be Happy”. BRICS will reduce them to economic Venezuela status. So then we can rejoice as they join us in dump scrounging.
Mr. Wonderful got it right…
While that sleazeball Jim Cramer was still actively shilling for NY Signature Bank, the next (but far from the last) bank to be bailed out with your money.
While only touching the Salem witch trials at the margins, Anya Seton’s superb novel The Winthrop Woman is most highly recommended.
Tangible Assets and I don’t mean Kiko’s boobs. Shelf stable foods, protection in various calibers, prepay your bills for several months if able, get seeds, soils, amendments, tools. Durable clothing, boots shoes, underwear etc. building and repair materials, oils, filters etc.
You forgot the silver and gold, as that scrip they are busily cranking won’t even be good for wiping your butt when the shtf.
junk silver US coins for day to day transactions., a decent batch of Silver Eagles for larger buys and barter, and the main reserve -as you can stash big amounts in almost no space- in gold Eagles for big expenditures. Yes you will pay a ridiculous premium above spot value for the Eagles (and even junk coins have jumped in premium), but keep in mind that premium exists for a reason; yes some is due to opportunism in the market on the part of wholesalers, but mostly because of fungibility, you will be able to spend or trade any of the above without issue or hesitation…not the case if you try to buy groceries or whatever with private mint or even to a lesser degree foreign like Canada coins and bars, people won’t trust them right off and while you might be able to wait around while they test or have them checked or tested for bigger transactions, that will not work for ordinary people and places like the grocery store.
Proof enough to see the biggest jump in weeks in gold and silver today after the bank bailout news.
I was going for items more easily purchased in a person’s local area, especially foods, personal care, medications etc. I saw this item and was a bit “OH MY ” when I read it. https://smallcaps.com.au/perth-mint-accused-diluting-gold-bars-silver-copper-selling-china/
Illustrating my point perfectly about the trust factor; if it come to US mint products being “doped”, well, last nail in the coffin.
Hilarious they pulled it on the ChiComs though, they have been pumping out diluted and outright fake metals and everything else for decades.
Understood about the local stockpile and very good advice, but in the longer term it won’t be enough and the Golden Rule kicks in…not the Biblical one but the one that goes, him that’s got the Gold makes the Rules.
I’m not sure I believe in the utility of “junk silver US coins for day to day transactions.” Some fellow preppers may understand the concept, but everybody else, from bank tellers to bill collectors to grocery store checkers, are going to look at a silver dime and say, “That’s a dime, Dude. It’s worth ten cents. It says so right on the coin.”
Yep, says One Dollar on silver Eagles too. 😀
Y’all got some dumb bank tellers, bill collectors, and grocery checkers there, but they will smarten up quick when even a 10-cent dime is worth more than that paper crap people will be trying to palm off on them…
Want to really blow their apparently very limited minds though? I bought a large private collection of liberty and st gaudens $20 gold coins dates 1879-1933 recently (53 of them, sold all next day at $2,000 ea.). Plop one of those on the grocery counter and tell them they owe you $1800 change from your grocery purchase, “Dude, says Twenty Dollars right on it!”
Kiko, don’t talk with your mouth full.
