You’d almost think President Trump is Chinese, he takes the hundred year long view.

I’m not going to begrudge the man his accolades, he deserves every one, plus more.

As the old saying goes, he’s probably at least nine-tenths as good as he thinks he is; his track record shows that.

And false modesty is as great a conceit as an overinflated ego.

By comparison, the vast majority of DC’s denizens, elected or otherwise, have much to be modest about. Except that they aren’t, because they believe they’re perfect, and that nobody else can possibly be as good at anything as they are.

So why should they bother listening to The Great Unwashed? Far better to simply tell them what to do- Or Else.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

      -Proverbs 16:18.

        From Wiktionary:
Behavior that is intended to seem humble but comes across as fake and unflattering.
“Although having a large ego is considered undesirable, at times it is proper to take credit where it is due rather than display false modesty.”

        From the Cambridge Dictionary:
behaviour in which a person pretends to have a low opinion of their own abilities or achievements:
“He shows great pride in his work and has no false modesty about his success.”

        From the Urban Dictionary:
To Tell everyone that what you did is bad , knowning (sic) all the way that what you did is good , just so everybody says the opposite .

What was that other proverb quoted by ol’ Grampa on The Guns of Will Sonnet?…”No brag, just fact”.

That could explain how he keeps his sanity, such as it is, under the extreme hate and opposition he will deal with his whole time in office. I pray that Melania and the rest of the family can bear up, and support him, as his voters do….

He’s been pretty darned good this year and a half in. He keeps it up and re-election won’t be as hard as the first election. I was just happy to not have hillary. Gorsuch, rollback of regs, tax reform that is spurring business, NK/SK talking, rollback exec orders, keystone pipeline, getting out of Iran deal, TPP, etc are more than I could have hoped for.

The press is so busy trying to get this guy, they’re focused on pols trying to get this guy.

Meanwhile, 3% unemployment, an economy that is (slowly but steadily) coming back, North Korea cowered (“No, no, it has to be China!” -press), Iran scrambling–and even Putin is playing like he’s not a commie, calling the Pope a Leftist(!) (the irony there is so deep you could dig for days & not reach bottom), the bureacracy receding (but never gone), the DOJ chasing it’s tail, black celebrities defending him ( race healing(?) of which we heard but never saw during the previous administration)…

I didn’t vote for the guy (or anyone else), but now I’m almost–almost–wishing I had. If this keeps up, his re-election will be a slam dunk.

And all of that withouteven mentioning immigration, the pace of which although pretty damn good, apparently sent him into a tirade with his cabinet a few days ago and almost had the lady running that show crying and quitting…that is his first and foremost policy plank and in spite of all the mentioned progress still hot on it. Of course sticking it to the Proglodytes is an achievement that ranks right up there in my view too.

    But…”America’s most unbelievable amazing president”?

Could be, and there’s a 6 1/2 more years to prove it, but don’t get ahead of yourself there Donnie, there’s a lot of Reagan Conservative Godchildren out here.

Time will tell; as others have said so far so good, in fact so far outstanding.

If feeding Trumps ego is the price for what we’ve gotten so far, it’s dirt cheap at twice the price. Lookin forward to 6 more years.
