A good right hook helps to desensitize those fellow students that use those terms.

Whereas, the smarter young boys would treat such lovelies with respect.

A much more effective approach is a good solid heel to the instep.

  • JTC

Would that such immunity to the demonization and weaponization of words could be spread across our I’ll “culture” all across the board.

    • JTC

“ill” culture. Stupid autocorrect…talk about fucking with our language…

  • ExNuke

Fucking with the language is a powerful weapon. The purpose behind “language” is supposed to be to accurately convey information and communicate. If you redefine the labels often enough then words are meaningless. Does anyone else remember when “gay” meant happy and care free?

    • Bill G

Language does evolve. But there is a world of difference between the normal, gradual evolution of language and the left’s weaponizing of it.

Funny how the leftists always want to pitch their identity politics to the young, isn’t it? Skye should know that Zed & Sam would prepare the girls for that.

    • Old Codger

Funny how the leftists always want to pitch their identity politics to the young, isn’t it?

Nothing funnyabout it at all. They’re canny enough to understand the principle that the Creator articulated in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 22, Verse 6.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Even though they are godless heathens, they understand the principles of indoctrination. Why do you suppose they want kids to start school so early now?

There was also a time when GAY meant “Green and Yellow”, for the colors worn by the supporters of Oscar Wilde. Later, Green and Yellow became the colors of John Deere farm equipment. Playing with language is fun, and dangerous. The French language has an official dictionary, the set of prescriptive meanings to prevent such use or alterations. I don’t know if it works for them; English and its children have descriptive dictionaries that try to keep up with changes.

“Are you gay, Recruit? ” the DI yelled at me. “Sir, the private tries to be so, Sir.”
There was a long silence. “Private, what do you think ‘gay’ means?”asked the LT.
    “Sir, happy, joyful, carefree, Sir!”
“Can you think of another meaning?”
“Sir, ‘Green And Yellow’ the colors worn by the supporters of Oscar Wilde during his trial, Sir.”
There was another silence. “Private, are you a homosexual?” “Sir, No! Sir!”
“Why was Wilde on trial?” “Sir, he was accused of committing homosexual acts, Sir.” “Where did you learn of this?” “Sir, History of Theater class, Sir.”
“Oh. Private, ‘gay’ is also a derogatory slang term referring to homosexuals and homosexual behavior. Sergeant, the Private is not gay, he’s merely literate. Carry on!”

Are the new generations the ones that can’t even understand the concepts the protagonists were discussing while seated in the lunchroom? Has the language had so much removed or changed now? Have I surpassed the maximum number of characters the modern mind is able to comprehend?

    • Wood

I’ve read that again recently in my early 40s. Means a lot more now than it did in high school. What’s shocking is the extent to which it’s all happening, or already come to pass. A warning not a manual indeed. I wonder how it’s presented now? Perhaps it is being held up as a tool for activists?

  • PaulS

Clearly I’m behind the curve on this, and the curve from behind is beautiful.

  • nonncom

Lenny Bruce had it right….”Let’s use all the racist rants and names so much that they become meaningless”…..I give you the word “fuck”….it is no longer offensive, but has become the most versatile word in the language….

    • Oldarmourer

On the flightline, “fuckin’ fuckers’ fucked!” was a complete, comprehensive and all too often routine sentence…

This appropriation and weaponization of not only our language, but our entire culture as well, is all a result of the Marxist Frankfurt School’s Critical Theory that spawned Political Correctness which is really Cultural Maxism that has totally infected academia and other cultural institutions, such as the Demcratic Party and the MSM! It’s way worse than COVID-19! Link to a good article on this from Discover The Networks:

It’s not just the words. It’s the concocted meanings, all of which involve self-contradictory doublethink, which we are compelled to pretend to believe – or politely mouth – at the threat of loss of career, friends and reputation.

Under their fraudulent, Orwellian “meanings”, all the Left’s fake words like “racism” “sexism” “Islamophobia” “oppression” “social justice” etc all boil down to one thing: Shut Up Or We’ll Crush You!

    • John

My first encounter with this phenomenon was in my first Ecology college course. A huge chunk of the technical terms were standard English words with very specific non-standard meanings. It was obviously an out-and-out attempt to create a corps of Eco-Snobs rather than actually advance the science. When, in my innocence, I pointed out that it wasn’t necessary to use common terms but use altered forms like B.F.Skinner’s term Operant for a specific type of conditioning I was quite literally laughed at.

Photo (below link), circa 1988, when I married my Asia born bride. She was born in The Philippines, daughter of a Filipina mother and Kansas born Navy CWO.

When we were dating and/or early on in our marriage, I remember her telling me the word “Flip” or “Flipper” was sometimes used derogatorily towards Filipinos.

She and her parents just arrived back here stateside, after briefly getting stuck in The Philippines and re-scheduling their flight out of Manila (it was the last one by Philippine Airlines). I picked them up from LAX earlier this week … I haven’t seen Southern California freeways so traffic free in decades; it reminded me of how it was in the 70s and 80s when I was a kid.

It is extremely difficult (well nigh impossible, really) to frame a thought for which you do not have the language. By disarming the populous and indoctrinating the young they think to make revolution impossible and so secure their position as masters of the world. And their activities do make rebellion vastly more difficult. But a man (or woman) may rebel based upon feelings which he cannot properly articulate. And a large enough group of sufficiently motivated (“pissed off ” in the vernacular) unarmed serfs CAN take down a fully armed and armored mounted knight. Oh, they will not do so easily or bloodlessly but they can do so. As Stalin put it, “Quantity has a quality all its own.” And it is that principle which strikes terror into their black hearts. Even if they do not allow themselves to think about it, they know in the black fastness of their heart of hearts that there will always be more “indians” than “chiefs”.

It comes down to some fundamental principles of human organizations – ALL human organizations:
    1. All compliance is voluntary.
    2. Leaders/rulers derive their power from the consent of the lead/ruled.
    3. There will always be more lead than leaders.
    4. Quantity has a “quality” all its own.

    • JTC

Anybody here know the meaning of “deplorable”?

Shit works both ways don’t it?

    • John

It goes a long way to explain the instances of people suddenly collapsing in the street or being found dead in their homes only hours after being last seen.
It also explains why respirators are in such high demand.
I also ran across some anecdotal evidence as to the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine. If you look at a map of infection there is a rather noticeable gap in Equatorial Africa. It turns out that it is common practice for doctors there to prescribe Hydroxychloroquine first for _any_ fever.

“Fish head”? While it’s true that roly-poly fish heads are rarely seen drinking cappuccinos in Italian restaurants with Oriental women, I’ve never heard, or read, the term used to refer *to* those women.

  • Drew458

You missed “taxicabs” or “yellow taxis”, but I guess the girls are too young for that one.

    • interventor

That is a more recent one used by Asians to denigrate Asian women to date occidental men. I read an article by George Takei who used it in a nasty way. Thought, why should be care?

      • interventor

should be “women who date occidental”

        • Doggo

I thought George Takei didn’t date ANY women.

          • Oldarmourer

I’m wondering why the first thing the various ‘woke activists’ do after stridently decrying ‘racism’ or any of the other “ism’s” they can dream up, even when it isn’t actually present, is immediately go on to practice it themselves, often in their very next sentence…

But as they are so fond of saying, “only white men can be racist or sexist”…because deliberately singling a group out for abuse isn’t either…provided you’re ‘woke’ enough

          • interventor

He doesn’t. The magazine that carried the article was aimed at Asians and occidentals that interacted. I was dating a Japanese lady in Atlanta, at that time. Hint, be very careful with the zaibatsu. They use Yakuza as body guards,

Ha, ha … Fish Heads by Barnes & Barnes. I remember that song always finished in the top ten when I listened to Dr. Demento way back when I was in Jr. H.S.

    • Dr. Demento was an absolute GENIUS!!!!!!!!!
