Spellcheck drives me nuts that way. I still spell “Labor” with a “u”, such as when referring to the “Labour” parties in the UK and etc., and spellcheck hates that.

Pretty much the same for all those historical builders and warriors I think.

But when facts, reality, and science tell them they’re wrong about something, they resort to mysticism and “I say it, therefore it is so” faster than the average Cheyenne medicine chief.
Progressives as a whole are mired in superstitions they largely create themselves. “Man-made climate change” and “deep ecology” being just two examples of same.
Progressives latched on to primitivist, tribalist belief systems because Western science, plus Christianity and Judaism kept telling them “You know, you’re doing it wrong, that’s why it keeps failing to work”.
Rather than admit they’re wrong, they keep insisting that if they are given more power, and then total power, and then absolute power, they can make the world work the way they want it to- once everybody else stops opposing them.

I even scratched the surface with a ‘liberal’ as to why I was so happy that Hillary did not win. She was a supporter. Then I suggested she read a book she had never heard of nor its author. I suggested she read Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’ that he was writing when Hillary visited him and maybe he was one of her squeezes while Bill and her were in separate locations for a while. Hillary later wrote and asked him about how the book was coming as she looked forward to reading it having been exposed to it while he was writing it.
I did not mention this quite in his acknowledgments concerning Lucifer:

Burning books for heat is now, the UK and elsewhere. Fuel poverty is real, with “carbon taxes”and green initiatives making heating fuels very expensive. So pensioners hit up the charity shops for those cheap books you can get for a dime or so, cheaper than wood or coal. Also there’s a rise in deaths from trying to use fireplaces whose chimneys haven’t been thought about in decades and can be blocked or perhaps were closed off.

From what the CDC was doing with gun crime numbers before stopped, to the pre-WWII US eugenics movement, to seeing in the climate wars how long-term temperature records of individual US stations that show no significant change to actual cooling are routinely “adjusted” to show “unprecedented” warming, I’m not sure that by itself is a good position to fight from.

However, the real question is this: when these overgrown children ub adult bodies reach the world of employment, do they realize that this kind of thing does not carry over into the corporate world? And that no employer gives a crap what words ‘trigger’ you? And that if you cause a lot of trouble at work with your post-adolescent self righteousness, you are more likely than not to be seen as a liability instead of an asset and sent to unemployment?
That should be interesting. They can throw fits and scream obscenities at other people but don’t want it done to them. There’s a catch to this. It may be a trip they weren’t expecting.

I have an original copy of the two-volume autobiography of U.S. Grant, which my great-grandfather bought after the Civil War was over and he and his brothers went home.
Out of Pres. Grant’s own mouth – priceless. I’m thinking that maybe I should keep it instead of just buying someone else’s opinion of him.
He made a lot of mistakes after that War was over and he had left office, but he owned up to them – unlike some current politicians.
