I believe that was applied to “old shaky”, the C-124 Globemaster. I got a ride in one and sat along the outside of the cargo compartment, looking up the inside of the fuselage. I could see the whole thing wiggling as we puttered along.

Never heard it applied to the B-52. And that’d “buf” not “Buff”.

Lose the rotor shaft Jesus nut, it crashes. Hitting the oil cooler in the engine housing is the best target for a less-than-lethal takedown. (That’s one of the few things they got right in the movie Blue Thunder.)

Lose the tail rotor, the most vulnerable weak point on a helo, and a crash landing is still doable, but everybody aboard will be really dizzy and probably motion-sick when it finally stops.

(Ask any Pedro about LTA- Loss of Tailrotor Authority. More common on the ’60 than you might think.)

Given the skill level and currency of the Federal Bureau of Incompetents’ pilots, formation flight is defined as “same day, same way.” They are not so good at night or instrument flying either. Three helos in close proximity yields a high probability of a fireball in 3…2…1….

“…And being invited along by the FBI for maximum propaganda value.”

Keep in mind that the Bureau has been playing the news media like a harp from Hell going back to J. Edgar’s early years. Melvin Purvis once stated that a lot of FBI busts were gauged for maximum newsreel impact. And that was back in the Thirties.

The whole FBI TV series with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. was basically a Bureau PR op. It may have looked like Dragnet, but it was about as realistic as Lost in Space. The main purpose was to get J.Edgar his once-a-month five minute “fireside chat” with the American viewing public. Once he was dead, so was the show.

The FBI uses CNN and etc. about the way the KGB used to use Pravda. And the newsies are OK with that as long as the Bureau is run by “like-minded progressives”, which it has been since Herbert Hoover was POTUS.

I look at TV today and it consists mainly of bad “re-imaginings” of TV shows from the Sixties that were never very good to begin with, like Lost In Space.

Oh, BTW, they’re re-doing Frank Herbert’s Dune again, too.

Hollywood is so completely out of ideas that they might as well go back to making Mack Sennett “Keystone Cops” shorts.

There was presumably a woman who was quite upset about video showing a young boy at a gun show demonstrating how he knows how to fully use a semi-automatic assault weapon. The tweet was then “ratioed” into oblivion with hundreds of comments by those pointing out the 4-yr old was merely cycling a bolt-action with “ugly black gun” barrel shroud and adjustable buttstock. And many discussions about the importance of teaching the sprouts gun safety and use vs putting them in cryogenic storage until the coming gun-free violence-free socialist utopia.

Found the original tweet with video, it’s so cute.

A couple of well-aimed rounds through the tail rotor blades will induce enough of an out of balance condition in the drive system to cause copious amounts of rectal leakage in the pilots’ flight suits. I know of this syndrome from my experiences in the S/E Asian Conflict, 2nd Place Club……..

Don’t bet on most Armed Forces members refusing to obey unlawful orders. My experience, from talking with many service members through the years, is that most have been so indoctrinated to trust the chain of command that they will not question any order they are given. Their internet is closely monitored that they do not DARE go to a website such as Oathkeepers.
