It won’t be very much, as I had to bury my wife and am short on cash. kadaka Jul 08 2019 at 4:25 pm Harris proposes $100 billion plan to increase minority homeownership Young people are having trouble starting out in life because they were sold on the benefits of a college degree in anything and can wind up with hundreds of thousands of student loan debt, making it hard to save for a down payment. Kamela wants to help minority families buy houses in “historically red-lined communities” where minorities were excluded from financing to make a down payment. But applicants must be applying for a low to moderate income area, that they’ve lived in for ten years, there are income limitations, max home price is $300,000, and the grant will be for “either $25,000 or 20% of the loan value plus closing costs”. Meanwhile modern reality has shown traditional home ownership has largely stopped making sense. People need job mobility, to move where the work is, and also need flexibility to move to better areas. Conditions can change fast, with many under-water mortgages in places with dropping home values. Renting makes more sense, even RV living is more practical. Not having room for lots of stuff means not buying lots of stuff. So Democrats are proposing to help those in economic stress and government dependence, with more economic stress and government dependence. I sense a trend. JTC Jul 09 2019 at 11:10 am Makes no sense to try to make sense of what by definition makes no sense. Whether it’s a house, limitless medical, or nacho cheese at the food bank, free shit is free shit, all payola for the agenda of takeover. That it is sustainable only long enough to burn up all the OPM and kill off the production mechanisms, which of course makes no sense on the surface, to us or to their own bought people. But there is a method to their madness. The tent is large, but it’s full of the bots and pods in media, academia, entertainment, etc. that are the upper echelon of the bought and paid but still expendable when it’s time. But in the meantime they fill the tent and the airwaves and the virtual pages with the promises and the message. They may even have convinced themselves that the clown car of loonies in the center ring are serious contenders to enact the radicalism they spout. It is hard to overestimate the vacuousness, greed, and stupidity of the electorate (witness Zero parts one and two), but is pretty unlikely that enough of them would buy into full-on socialism. And I don’t think that’s the plan. They know none of those chimps has a real chance and that they are trying to out-radical and out-crazy one another for the sole purpose of drafting the Other True One, who by that time will seem positively centrist let along just a Normal, and all the Normals outside that tent outside looking in, and all the queen’s horses and all the queen’s men in media and gov will swoon for the coronation. It’s really the only way they have a chance of an effective coup, and one that if true spells disaster for us, for America and for the world. Tagg Jul 08 2019 at 5:43 pm So this started out as a car wash? It’s not the annual swimming hole, wimmin… Anyway, I’m gonna dig a little more and challenge all other readers to dig in your pockets again and reanalyze if you cant give a little more for another year of the insightful and delightful sightful toons here. cmblake6 Jul 08 2019 at 8:54 pm I love that Super-Heroine!
