Culture Wars, Friends ← Previous post Next post → Comments Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman Aug 17 2019 at 12:15 am Looks like Jo needs more education in euphemisms and colloquium-isms (is that a word? whatever) I have a co-worker, a Vietnamese refugee. It’s both fun and frustrating sometimes to explain what I’m saying. And I REALLY, REALLY need to take him out a range for some shooting sometime. He still has never shot a gun. NotYetInACamp Aug 17 2019 at 3:34 am I’m a Miami Beach refugee and I have shot a gun. And my mouth sometimes. I do not want a civil war. We must work harder and better and read Sun Tsu again (often). I know a fellow refugee who hates memes and certain meaningless jokes and comments. She hates superfluous, as she defines it, statements and non facts. I believe that most euphemisms and colloquialisms fall into those categories. We all are different. She is well educated and with a very high IQ and could give Jo a run for the money on recall. She is a very good human being. (That doesn’t fit with Miami, I am afraid) We are at a culmination that many have desired of destroying Western Civilization. People have worked for generations to get us here step by step, retracing some steps. The war has actually been going on for generations. Normalcy bias and perception management prevents many people from gaining awareness of that aspect of reality. We all have chips and hells that we have had to endure. Some are planning to make more hells for people. There is our war. Bill G Aug 17 2019 at 6:30 am Nobody will win a civil war, if we end up completely in one. There are too many outside nations, groups, and individuals that will jump in with great gusto and glee. The end result would be the destruction of all we have here, and that will shatter the economy of the world in ways that cannot be measured now. JTC Aug 17 2019 at 10:42 am “Nobody will win a (full-on) civil war…the end result would be the destruction of all we have here.” True that, and not the path chosen by us. But also not the worst one which involves acquiescence and subservience and enslavement. I will not accept that to keep the peace and save my skin. What Patrick Henry said back then is just as applicable now. And the “outside nations, groups, and individuals” can get on the side of right and freedom or be damned. JTC Aug 17 2019 at 10:50 am Certainly those we love can have an incremental effect and alter our beliefs and methods by attrition. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. Ultimately it is up to us to decide which is which, keep our own counsel and make our own ultimate decisions. JTC Aug 17 2019 at 12:16 am Conspiracy to control the message has become a conspiracy to create the message. NotYetInACamp Aug 17 2019 at 3:35 am The Incells might dull that edge they got. John Aug 17 2019 at 3:08 pm We need to issue at least one per each to prevent propagation. And they’ve got to be cheaper than welfare in the long haul. Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman Aug 17 2019 at 12:17 am Some people need to be embedded with an RFID chip so they can be kept track of at all times. Old Codger Aug 17 2019 at 9:32 am That’s what some on the left are advocating. They want to have all “white supremacists” logged into a national registry. Next they will want everyone in the registry to be chipped. Oh, and by their lights all whites are “white supremacists”; either overt or in the closet. That will mean that all whites will have to be registered and, ultimately, chipped. Of course I expect more than a few of us will have a thing or two to say about that. GWB Aug 17 2019 at 10:07 am all whites are “white supremacists” And some blacks and large groups of hispanics and most asians, by their lights – if they don’t help push the prog bandwagon. John Aug 17 2019 at 3:13 pm Of course you could hear the Leftist’s screams from the Moon if you tried chipping felons. Somehow that would be a violation of their “right” to prey on the populace. cb Aug 17 2019 at 1:14 am Well, it’s a start: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2019/08/14/obese-patients-implanted-brain-chips-bid-prevent-overeating/ ExNuke Aug 17 2019 at 1:38 am Too many people are only good for turning food into feces. Cillizza’s Folly: CNN edits article criticizing purchase of Alaska in Greenland debate “One of the last times the United States bought land from a foreign country was in 1867, when Seward orchestrated the purchase of Alaska from the Russians for $7.2 million,” Cillizza wrote. “It didn’t work out so well — and has gone down as ‘Seward’s Folly’ in the history books.” From the Global Climate Combat files: What could go wrong? D.C. begins pilot program for dockless electric mopeds Battery that could be made to catch fire or explode, hard shell tail box about the size of a pressure cooker for the two included helmets, that will be left seemingly abandoned at places with large numbers of people like offices including government buildings. And that’s been the standard since ancient Athens. clear ether eon Bill G Aug 17 2019 at 6:35 am Yes. And lacking any understanding of history, they do not have a clue about the level of violence that would come from the individual who would take the reins of power they want, if they managed to grasp them. And they would be baffled as they became among the first taken to the wall. JTC Aug 17 2019 at 9:23 am In their insanity they think they are immune to that history, that they will somehow do it better… Most especially they do not believe that the violence they unleash will be against them and destroy them. Those that believe themselves immune to history are bound and determined to repeat it, and as Walt alludes below it is up to us to oblige them. GWB Aug 17 2019 at 10:08 am they think they are immune to that history ^^THIS^^ Unca Walt Aug 17 2019 at 6:56 am IMO, the current state of [our government’s] decay being exposed more and more is disheartening. Two-tiered justice systems are the nastiest vice. I am an old fart. But I am also an old, idealistic sojer. If this current “cold civil war” goes hot — and it very well may — I will rally to the flag and what it stands for. Saaruuk Aug 17 2019 at 9:11 am Shoulder to shoulder wit ya there Unc……right dere wit ya. Like you, my oath to “protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic” has no expiration date, and I have never been relieved of that duty. John D. Egbert Aug 17 2019 at 9:34 am Nor has mine, Saaruuk. And I wouldn’t accept said relief if it were offered . . . John M. Aug 17 2019 at 7:47 pm As I have written in other fora: I’m too old and stove-in to run thru the jungle any more, But I can damn’sure help defend a rally/resupply point, and no one has relieved me of the duties under my Oath of Enlistment! ExNuke Aug 17 2019 at 9:26 am Up until now they have had the grudging cooperation of the people but they are pushing hard to lose it. The Federal Government has little to no power on the local level and has been running a bluff for decades. Let’s see them herd a few million cats who don’t want to sit up and beg. A law that says don’t rob people doesn’t work just because there is a Law, most of us don’t want to commit robbery, don’t kill people without good reason, same thing. Passing a law that says “rub blue mud in your navel or else” is another thing all together and without our willing compliance just shows them to be impotent and their “orders” meaningless. I believe “Gun Control” is a good thing, I control mine very closely and think you should control yours. I don’t trust THEM to control their bladders much less MY guns or yours. Register them? Thanks but I know which ones I have already and don’t see any advantage for me in giving someone I don’t trust that information. If they want to hang me they are going to have to put the rope around my neck themselves, I’m not going to do it for them. John D. Egbert Aug 17 2019 at 9:39 am As you noted yesterday, there are 60,000,000 legal gun owners in this country. If I remember correctly, those owners possess 300,000,000 guns and more than 1,000,000,000 rounds of ammunition. As the meme says: “If we were the problem, you’d know it . . .” John M. Aug 17 2019 at 7:52 pm “…AT LEAST 300 million firearms and more than a trillion rounds…” No one knows for sure – I like it that way. kadaka Aug 17 2019 at 12:31 pm I have now waited eight hours for a comment to get out of moderation that absentmindedly had two links in it. Can someone please do a wellness check on Chris? Governor Wolf takes action to reduce gun violence; signs executive order making sweeping changes Our Dear Beloved Pennsylvania Governor (D) has made a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention with new “senior advisor” position to facilitate better interoffice communication and coordination of paper-shuffling that will start tackling the urgent crisis at its first meeting in two months. “The executive order also creates the Division of Violence Prevention within the Department of Health. … Together, they will establish new oversight and data sharing, reduce community gun violence, combat mass shootings, and halt domestic violence-related and self-inflicted shootings.” By the power of increased bureaucracy they will stop the shooting of abusive partners and gun cleaning accidents. Good to know. Our Beloved Governor (D) also has the usual laundry list, universal red flag continuous background checks with prompt reporting of lost or stolen guns safely stored in unusable condition separate from safely-stored approved ammo, as soon as the General Assembly allows it, which strangely tends to remain Republican controlled. JTC Aug 17 2019 at 2:13 pm re, wellness check. Might be able to do that tomorrow, CM visits an old friend of his Dad’s near here now and then, and said he might pop by for a beer, looking forward to it. Might break out a couple Cuban cigars somebody gifted me a while back. And speaking of gifts, it’s my b-day 65 in a week or so and I will consider his visit a very good one. 🙂 Probably has the ‘toon on auto-pilot while he’s on the road so you might have a bit longer wait. kadaka Aug 17 2019 at 2:39 pm Actually I checked, still waiting, went over the above comment, posted, and saw the previous comment had been released. Since it was right at 8 hours I think that’s when the auto-release is set. Pamela Aug 17 2019 at 10:35 pm Well JT~ I’ve had 3 fingers of Espolon Reposada in a Famous in the Worst Places glass. I lift the balance the glass on your behalf and in Chris’s Dads memory. Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman Aug 17 2019 at 11:07 pm Happy 65th! NotYetInACamp Aug 17 2019 at 11:41 pm You are a good man to have a beer with. 🙂 Pamela Aug 17 2019 at 10:50 pm Slavers never change. They figure new ways to add to the pain and enslavement. Hardball Aug 17 2019 at 12:35 pm Nicely drawn side view WayneM Aug 17 2019 at 1:28 pm Y’all may not want a civil war but we are in a culture war. It’s only lately that the leftists started getting violent because they thought they were winning. I don’t know if two terms of Trump will be enough to redress the successive leftist governments since Reagan or not. How about Crenshaw 2024 & 2028? Kafiroon Aug 17 2019 at 1:48 pm So be honest with yourself. Have you, most of us have, worked for bosses that were totally out of reality with what the company was doing? Gave orders that slowed or stopped production? Wasted time needed to complete a assignment? Some how it was always yours or someone elses fault. How did you handle it? Stifle? Well good luck living in a full on socialist system. They will never stop giving orders and demands on us. Can you take it? John Aug 17 2019 at 3:38 pm It has been said that when the Left loses the Presidency they go crazy for about ten years. This round has been amplified by a Post Modern godless religion bent on the destruction of Western Civilization and the rule of Reason it champions. And make no mistake, it _is_ a religion, entirely based on a Faith that defies the world of fact and offers no redemption. It is Nazism 2.0, that is to say Inter-sectional Fascism, sporting all the Fascist earmarks and simply aimed against a different group of victims. Hopefully their radicalism will result in the utter rejection and demolition of the institutions they have corrupted so we can start again with a clean slate. THEN you make the visible raid using clearly-identified agents who find hints of stuff that will take years of follow-up investigations and deal making to yield compelling evidence, best done by short-timers counting the days. Never leave an area sanitized before the visible raid, it makes people suspicious that something hinky is going on. Pamela Aug 17 2019 at 10:36 pm What I want to know is why he wasn’t gelded decades ago? John Aug 18 2019 at 3:46 pm Obviously bribes and blackmail are a potent combination. Although you do make a good point. If rape and sodomy were punished by amputation, the prison system would be a whole lot smaller.
