Children don’t know what snow is. We were warned back in 2000 by a leading climate scientist that this would happen if we didn’t surrender to the UN and immediately combat global warming. We didn’t listen.

So now, nineteen years later, children can only learn about snow by watching nature shows about the Arctic, before that melts away too. Tragic. We should have listened to all those frequent strident science-based climate warnings from the NYT and WaPo. Sad.

Would you like to shovel my front steps, sidewalk, and parking space? Like Judy in Waukesha said, I don’t want to do this S – – T any more.
And we’re supposed to get another 3 inches tonight, on top of this morning’s 3 inches.
Aaaaah! Winter!!! Perfect for the latte-slurping ecohipsters, ain’t it? If I could just grow a glacier in Manhattan….
        What? I can dream, can’t I? 🙂

How do you like your newly oceanfront property? We don’t have to worry about those pesky fresh water lakes anymore now that melting Greenland has raised our ocean level about 130 feet.
The beach is almost back to the old sandy beach level along the Lake Wales Ridge. What’s old is new again. Old beach front is new beachfront.
Is Chris under water now? Or did he move? Did they build a 150 foot wall for the valuable real estate barrier islands and the spaceport?

And who said climate change never brought anything good to anybody?

      • February 17, 2019 at 9:21 pm

Toxic DBW, just a spit of sand left here on the Ridge that NotYet references -which would just be a cyclical recurrence of what has come before- but would at least be separated from the rest of Crazy…sometimes environmental disaster is its own reward.

Hmmm! Now if this sand spit would be separated from Tallahassee and Jacksonville, that could be a good thing.

      • February 18, 2019 at 12:05 am

Yes sir, that would be (some of) the referenced Crazy, plus all points north and most points south. Sort of a backbone in the center of the state running from Lake County south to the bottom of Highlands (my) county and including some prehistoric areas like Lake Annie there that is studied by scientists at the Archbold Station and thought to be one of the oldest stores of Pleistocine era fossils etc on the continent.

So yeah when everything else is ocean bottom again life will remain here, such that it is.

The Democrat-run “media” (gag, barf, throw-up, gag-barf) is now on record eagerly supporting the highly illegal, unconstitutional, mafia-esque Coup attempt. Gee, it’s almost like you’d wonder if they weren’t an integral part of the plot. Will there will be any legal repercussions for “the media”? or does “freedom of the press” now include the magical right to plot the seditious, traitorous overthrow of a sitting American president?

    Look up the Semmelweis reaction;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semmelweis_reflex

Whether you are talking medicine (real or fake), UFOs, conspiracy theories (“The CIA killed JFK! No, It was the Mafia! No, it was both! You think it was just some nutty wannabee Communist with a cheap rifle, you must be crazy!”), ecology (“Humans are killing Holy Mother Gaia!”), vaccination, or especially politics, people tend to believe what they think they “know”. Never mind what the facts show, one way or another.

This is especially true in politics, where beliefs tend to equal power.

No one is more prone to a Semmelweis reflex than the sort Eric Hoffer called the True Believer.

And as Richard Hofstader pointed out, one reason there are so many conspiracy believers on the extremes (left and right) is that a lot of them have been “conspirators” themselves at one time or another. Always from the highest moral motivations, naturally.

Well, it sounds better than actually saying out loud what that little voice inside of them is perpetually screaming.

“I want absolute power so I can kill anybody who dares to disobey me.”

The Hungarians are so wise. Take that common belief put forth today that a wall has no effect. They dispelled that belief with greater effect than the situation that gave rise to the Semmelweis reflex. The wall was 99.4+% effective one month after it was installed along Hungary’s Southern border to be the focal point in stopping the Islamic hijrah invasion to conquer Europe.

A wall is a great TOOL in defense of borders, but is not defense in and of itself. If we’re not willing to kill or maim an invader trying to breach it, then it is still of limited effectiveness.

Is it real or is it smoke and mirrors ? For two years I have watched them attack and ridicule President Trump and everyone associated with him . Since he is a Washington outsider they are doing everything they can to destroy him. It has just shown me how absolutely corrupt the leadership is in Washington. The situation makes me feel that we are not in a Constitutional Republic but a Oligarchy. The ruling class and us peasants. But since I’m not a part of the Washington scene. I really do not know what is going on in Washington. Just what I am told . No wonder my trust in Government is gone.

Like the Progressives and Fabian Socialists, we must understand and embrace that sometimes it is two steps forward, then one step back, then two steps forward again.
