Men & Women ← Previous post Next post → Comments JTC Feb 16 2019 at 12:06 am Well shit now it’s 2/17… My old brain cannot keep up with this DBD time machine! Pamela Feb 16 2019 at 12:32 am Is there a causality loop happening JTC Feb 16 2019 at 11:46 am Aaaand now it’s today again. Spooky. kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 5:51 pm Well back in 2002 Zed and Sam were early 40’s. Webcomic time dilation has strange side effects. Chris Muir Feb 16 2019 at 12:12 am Jeez, I can’t keep the right time lately! JTC Feb 16 2019 at 1:06 am Timeless (heh) commentary from another old rock band named for a big blue city…the more things change and all that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5ewTCEFUeY whraglyn Feb 16 2019 at 8:48 am Thx for the link; had not heard Chicago since 1st CTA album orig, new, vinyl, paid for w lawnmowing $ age 13! My Grandkids never heard of them, let alone such great music as this! *sigh* 🙂 <3 JTC Feb 16 2019 at 11:53 am Those horns…what the hell happened to music in the last half century? God it hurts to contemplate that, wasn’t it yesterday? Oh crap now look what I’ve done… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSuVCyT63II kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 9:33 am Well you didn’t do it yesterday either, so… Pamela Feb 16 2019 at 12:38 am They don’t marry their sisters, even that won’t pass muster with the local Parson. Cousins is another matter in certain necks of the woods. Don’t even get started on the incestuous pairings in the Swamp. D.C. is a strange family dynamic. Old Codger Feb 16 2019 at 6:09 am I read somewhere that first cousin pairings were only marginally less safe than the standard of 3rd cousins. Even sibling unions aren’t a huge risk unless there is a particularly bad recessive gene hiding in the family pool. As a small “L” libertarian I do not consider it my place to judge who somebody chooses to shack up with. I don’t care who somebody marries so long as they don’t get in my face about it. So long as it doesn’t slop over into my back yard I don’t give a damn what my neighbor does in his back yard. If it does slop over into my back yard then (and only then) we have a problem. PaulS Feb 16 2019 at 8:06 am Swing your dead cat wherever you want, just so long as it doesn’t harm others, eh? interventor Feb 16 2019 at 8:13 am 1300 years of cousins marrying cousins equals the Middle East, today. whraglyn Feb 16 2019 at 8:53 am *speww! *snort* *chuckle* *sniff* No Better Way To Start Your DayByDay, Than Muzzie Gags In Your Cup! 😉 NotYetInACamp Feb 16 2019 at 10:41 pm First cousin marrying is acceptable in Sharia. And it happens often. Genetic problems abound. pyrodice Feb 16 2019 at 11:15 pm Also in the british royals… TomZ. Feb 17 2019 at 12:32 am Also describes European nobility. Wearyman Feb 16 2019 at 10:02 am It’s not that it’s going to instantly create “Elephant Child”. It’s that inbreeding causes a slow loss of cumulative intelligence and will eventually introduce birth defects and congenital disorders. Let it go on long enough with enough people and you get a society of low intelligence people with lots of health issues. It is in any society’s best interests to discourage inbreeding. This is why in MOST major religions it is frowned upon. (Guess which one is the exception? Hint: it involves a guy named Mo.) JTC Feb 16 2019 at 12:03 pm Yeah but they can sure play that banjo… 🙂 interventor Feb 16 2019 at 7:41 pm Who eschewed ham! Christopher Cole Feb 16 2019 at 10:32 am As a Large “L” Libertarian (County Chair) I think that the only valid reason for the government, at any level, to be involved in marriage is to ensure that the contract is carried out. JTC Feb 16 2019 at 12:02 pm And that articulated right there is one of many reasons why the Libertarian party has nothing whatsoever in common with libertarianism. Let gov defend the borders and from enemies foreign and domestic and I’ll handle my own damn marriage contract and all my other ones. WayneM Feb 16 2019 at 1:13 pm Speaking of marrying your sister, didn’t Ilhan Omar marry her brother Ahmed Emli to ensure he didn’t get deported? Oh, those pesky Dems!! Pamela Feb 16 2019 at 6:37 pm EWWWWW. Gross. May his seed never find purchase. kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 6:59 pm There is good evidence to support it happened, however: “While being legally married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, Omar has publicly identified Ahmed Hirsi as her cultural husband and father of her children.” And I’m not sure what is a “cultural husband”. Is that like how Barry’s dad had a “cultural wife” back home when he hooked up with Barry’s mom? Halley Feb 16 2019 at 1:47 pm I’m reading about Princes Kamose and Ahmose of Egypt (1550 BC). Ahmose, founder of the 18th dynasty, married his younger sister to keep the royal bloodline going, but as she was apparently a babe, he didn’t seem to mind. Different times… interventor Feb 16 2019 at 7:51 pm The Egyptian pharaohs had royal or fully royal marriages, as much s possible. That would mean — brother/sister and father/daughter. as fully royal, and close relatives, otherwise. Akhenaten’s misshapen body was an example of their close breeding. He took his mother as his second wife (usually forbidden) and Nefertiti (a beauty) as his first wife. Greeks kept the tradition. Cleopatra VII was married to her brother. Toxic Deplorable B Woodman Feb 16 2019 at 11:45 pm Mordor-on-the-Potomac, where the family tree isn’t a straight stick, it’s a wreath. Toxic Deplorable B Woodman Feb 16 2019 at 1:14 am That is gigglesnort funny. Thx for the humor and chuckles. Punta Gorda Feb 16 2019 at 1:41 am “None worth kissing…” Not gonna play well with Sky’s internal fantasies. (As witnessed in previous story arcs) TomZ. Feb 16 2019 at 1:59 am Sisters, sisters There were never such devoted sisters, Pamela Feb 16 2019 at 12:51 pm At least they aren’t doing a fan dance in Florida WayneM Feb 16 2019 at 2:21 am I’ve got a bunch of sisters but I save my kissing for my non-sister fiance… lol Pete231 Feb 16 2019 at 3:23 am Is that a Shiner B. in the last frame ? Mmmmm…… MAJ Arkay Feb 16 2019 at 10:25 am Naturally. It’s THE beer of Texas. Old Codger Feb 16 2019 at 6:20 am OT: The other day I watched an episode of “Death Valley Days”, the anthology oater from the 50s and 60s (1952 – 1970). The episode was about the newspaper man who got the news out about the Little Big Horn massacre. It focused upon his efforts and that of the publisher to get the truth out despite an attempt by the War Department to quash the story. Imagine that! Journalists fighting to tell the truth. Against the federal government no less! Wonder what those folks would think about so called “journalists” in our time? Old Codger Feb 16 2019 at 8:55 am OT: Not all “journalists” are incapacitated by “Trump Derangement Syndrome” “CNN’s Nina Turner To Democratic Congresswoman: Stop Blaming Trump For All Racism” https://tinyurl.com/woke-at-CNN And not all the left is in love with AOC: “‘Morning Joe’ Panel Warns Ocasio-Cortez Is Going To Get Trump Re-Elected” https://tinyurl.com/woke-at-MSNBC Who knew? interventor Feb 16 2019 at 7:53 pm Crazy Eyes Alexandria is a gift — to Republicans. JTC Feb 16 2019 at 9:28 pm Yet they feel the need to pander to the socialist crazy… https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/feb/16/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-2020-endorsement-democrats Don’t know whether to be glad that’s what they’ve come to as a party or sad that’s what we’ve come to as a society. Tagg Feb 16 2019 at 10:18 am I never understood why dating my best friend’s sister was supposed to be taboo. But then i never had a sister of my own. kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 12:25 pm Because if your best friend is your brother-in-law then there’ll be fighting over who gets him in the divorce. Pamela Feb 16 2019 at 12:52 pm Especially when it comes to Hunting Season JTC Feb 16 2019 at 1:12 pm When you can’t find a convenient mouth-breathing hillbilly sister-humping MAGA man, you just write one into the script: https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/two-men-arrested-in-connection-with-attack-on-jussie-smollett-released-without-charges/ar-BBTDA3l?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=mailsignout “Officials said they were investigating the case as a possible hate crime.” Which it absolutely is. Let’s see if they investigate THAT. JTC Feb 16 2019 at 3:50 pm Aiiieee!!! They’re using laser-guns on us now!!! https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/shooter-in-deadly-aurora-rampage-had-a-gun-with-a-laser-sight-witness-says/ar-BBTFa3Z How many of them think that POS shooter was actually using laser beams to do his killin’? My God these people are stupid. kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 5:27 pm It gets better/worse. He had a 1995 felony conviction, they missed it in the background check in 2014 and gave him an Illinois Firearms Owner ID card. He got a handgun 2 months later, 5 days afterwards he applied for CC but this time a “more rigorous” check caught him. Illinois state troopers mailed him a letter to surrender the gun, he never did. And they never followed up. So of course in the case of the system screwing up yet again, the proposed remedies are assault weapon ban and universal background checks, neither which applied. It does though give a glimmer of dark hope that if the cops can’t be bothered to disarm a violent felon whose address they know, those proggie “surrender them or die sooner” laws might not be too effective. Tweak Feb 16 2019 at 10:15 pm And the two were released… Strange that available video data only places the two Nigerians as in the area. I was unaware that Nigerians known as vociferous Trump supporters. I was half dozing off at the time, but I think the news even stated that they were past business acquaintances of Smollett. kadaka Feb 16 2019 at 7:17 pm Kamala Harris uses Texas Pete hot sauce. What’s in your refrigerator? JTC Feb 16 2019 at 7:47 pm Well when they’re right they’re right I reckon… I mean I did spring from the Tennessee hills so I guess I’m a hillbilly, and I have been known to consort with five sisters to whom I am quite connected, so yeah I guess we are related. It always felt so right, but I did always hear it was wrong and could make you retarded… Explains rather a lot actually. [ Tweak Feb 16 2019 at 10:18 pm There is a reason why your aunts and uncles emphasized knowing how you are related to different people while growing up. Consanguinity is taken seriously. Strange how people who pay close attention to that are denigrated by the holier than thou shit monkeys from the city. JTC Feb 16 2019 at 10:41 pm Sorry y’all, just my attempt at some off-color and apparently rather opaque humor… Hint, Mrs. Palm also involved, in the vein of Portnoy and his complaint. 🙁 Toxic Deplorable B Woodman Feb 16 2019 at 11:51 pm JTC, A (/sarc) tag would have helped make your point more clear. Jus’sayin’, ya know? JTC Feb 17 2019 at 12:38 am It would TDBW, but I operate under the assumption if one is needed then either the readers are too dense or the humor is. As indicated in my mea culpa above I know which one it is here.
