On to the shock towers it seems…

And the shock content; kid was 10 q couple weeks ago, now she’s a candidate for the “highest” office in the land? There goes Sam’s hopes she won’t be a druggie…

Simply another chance for Slow Joe to surrender to totalitarianism.

What people don’t understand about him is that unlike his boss, The One, he doesn’t care who rules the Hunger Games dystopia he wants to create, just so long as it happens.

His personal ambition has been achieved. He’s a puppet president. His decisions are made for him, as always, by his mentors. He has all the prestige, and no real responsibility.

And he gets to lie to everyone else nonstop. not to mention telling them that they’re mean, stupid, and wrong about everything. Especially that pesky Constitution.

Joe has the role he’s always dreamed of. Pantalone in a commedia dell’arte version of The Revenger’s Tragedy.

He’s really more of a Punchinello, but again, he also really doesn’t care.

If it stops in the Ukraine. There are U.S. & NATO facilities nearby to say nothing of the Burke destroyers in or due in the Black Sea. During the Deir ez Zor air show a few years ago, there was at least one BUFF (B-52), so the Ruskies, may go heavy in the opening act, just to make a point. “The Donald” could deal, SloJoe will probably just mess the carpet. That is a heavy game and it ain’t penny-ante. Ol’ Joe may not wake up until it is over.

Ha ha! Today I learned from testimony in the Chauvin trial the answer to that nagging question, “What kind of perp passes a bogus $20, then goes out and waits in his car for the cops to arrive?” The answer is, “The kind that falls asleep and can’t be woken up.” Now, translate that to the Oval Office.
We’re in for some good times, folks.

The girlfriend reporting he couldn’t be woken up pretty much destroyed the prosecution’s expert testimony that Floyd couldn’t have been high on fentanyl because it makes the user sleepy and he wasn’t sleepy. Well, yeah, it does and it did in this case, too, as the passenger described. The meth and the cops woke him up enough for his heart to start to race and when he wanted to lie on the sidewalk it was because the fentanyl was taking hold again, plus the pulmonary edema was making him oxygen deprived.

There should be a mistrial, if there was still even a trace of justice in this land. The prosecution submitted over 5000 exhibits during the course of the trial, presumably witholding them so that the defense had almost no time to examine them (It worked out to 430 a day for each day of trial.) Of course, if we were actually a just country, there wouldn’t have been any charges at all.

      • April 15, 2021 at 7:44 pm

If the prosecution withheld those exhibits from the defense, that would be prosecutorial malfeasance and the defense could make a motion for a mistrial, or if egregious enough, make a motion to dismiss charges with prejudice. The prosecution has to disclose all evidence to the defense and do so in a timely manner. Providing it just before the beginning of the trial would give the defense grounds for a continuance. The presiding judge might also sanction the prosecutor, holding him/her/it/they in contempt of court.

I would also expect the prosecutor(s) would be sanctioned, if not disbarred for prosecutorial misconduct.

        Henry

Oh, it was way worse than providing it just before the beginning of the trial. The prosecution provided huge tranches of evidence during the trial, the day before each batch was going to be quoted by the prosecution.

Off Topic(OT)here, but need two items from people here. First, I need permission to post on Baen’s Bar the Ashli Babbitt poem ‘Hawks’ a member posted here, and I need the link for the story Identifying her killer, since it seems no one can find the story. I can’t recall his name and people in the Bar are asking, as it seems the fellow is the only cop in the last fifty years to not be identified publicly for his actions…

Reading “Providence Lost” about Cromwell and The Protectorate. “Disillusion was widespread and reached far beyond the political class. The exclusions were arbitrary and illegal and were symptomatic of the fact that the regime had failed to win the active loyalty of the country. An elect knew what was best for the elect nation.” 1655. Now 2021. Nuts.

I recommend the new Trump interview with Gorka, if only for confirmation that there’s a helluva lot we’re not being informed about, still. Gorka tries pushing the right questions, but most are deftly deflected. Still, we here are fumbling in the dark trying to make sense of things still kept securely from our view. Uncomfortable.

And what did the dementia patient ever do to deserve pudding on Thursdays?
