@nonncom, 2 years of the government in hibernation?

Hardly. tumultuous would be accurate; not pretty but way far from asleep, though in many cases that would be better.

Then you have Trump; he’s gov too and as major a cog in it as this Republic has ever seen. In a yuge surprise to most including me, two years into this gig that old boy has performed like a young stud, actual achievements of many of his campaign promises and real activity in the others.,,in spite of (and in some ways I think because of) obstruction and attempted destruction of every kind at every turn by the most concerted and single-minded leftist machine imaginable.

And that’s actually their downfall, or one of them. So much total focus by every tentacle of the proglodyte machine on stopping Trump that they have no time for anything else. And I have even come to believe that is by the design of The Donald…actually playing with them like a cat with a laser pointer, all the while getting some real shit done that already looks to have greatly improved the prospects of survival not just of our Republic but of the world.

And like the classically defined insane, the progs’ focus for the next two years will continue to be all-out attack on DJT and his American agenda, perchance to install some of their “new wave” of communist puppets some of which we just saw on display here in FL and in TX. He toyed with them some more in the last few weeks saying that even though he wasn’t on the ballots this whole midterm circus was about him. That is correct; he knows it, they know it, and he was rubbing their noses in it to keep them distracted from reality, and luring them to continue their mistakes in spite of their failures. Hope the results are the same.

        Hibernation? Dude.

Hibernation only from the point of view of any accomplishments….don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of fireworks for the entertainment of the leftists….

So not sure what this is a picture of, but I am calm and doing fine.

The DemocRATS are going to be clown themselves. They will spend all their time trying to subpoena Trump, who will likely tell them to fuck off. They have no agenda other than Trump hatred and as the ol saying goes, it’s much harder to govern than campaign.

Meanwhile I think we’ve got a good firewall in the Senate, and as long as Mitch keeps confirming judges I’m all good.

If the dipshits actually spend all of the next two years trying to impeach Trump they will look like that hateful loons they are. And that won’t play well outside Manhattan and San Francisco.

I think we all need to just get up, go to work, drink some whisky, and wait for some awesome artwork from Chris, preferably of the naked kind.

Stout hearts my friends, it could have been worse.

Scary harbinger right there my brothers and sisters of the faith…

I’m from New York. So we have shams, not elections. Our GOP is about as effective at politics as the Venus di Milo is at pole vaulting.

I can not wrap my head around losing the House to those assclowns when things have gone as well as they have for the last two years.

And losing the House is YUGE. they’re gonna do investigations for two solid years. they’ll subpoena the Prez’s tax returns, his suit measurements, his grade school dating partners. And they WILL impeach him, even thought they know they’ll lose in the Senate. It’ll keep their base happy, tie trump in knots for two years, and force him to govern by Executive Order, just like il douche did. not good.

The scene is from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, a civil war graveyard, I believe.

The Senate will stay Republican. Meaning many more conservative judges and a justice or two. Justice Ginsberg, you’re looking a bit under the weather.

House will investigate to the max. Trump can direct all subpoenas be sent to the WH for review — say 60 to 90 days. Then, to the Department involved. Should take about 90 days to gather up the documents and another 90 days to review and redact classified and privacy act information, Then, back to the WH for a final review and forwarding to the House (borrow a Galapagos turtle from the National Zoo as a courier).

For the enormous amounts of cash spent and RPM generated, the democrats got very little torque out of their efforts.

Once again, they proved that any moron (read: Occasional-Cortex) can get elected to political office if they run as a democrat.

In any business other than politics, if your staff or customers resembled the democrat Senators or Congress-critters just elected , an astute business leader would be trying to figure out how to quietly shut down the whole operation before it became public knowledge.

In Ohio, Republicans Mike DeWine and Dave Yost won the Governorship and Attorney General’s Office respectively. Unfortunately, Sherrod Brown–one of the key conspirators who got Obamacare passed in the dead of night–got re-elected for a third term in the Senate.

Thankfully Ron DeSantis defeated that Socialist loon Andrew Gillum for Governor and Rick Scott ousted that long time political hack Bill Nelson for Senator in Florida.

Happily, Ted Cruz defeated Beto O’Rourke in Texas, but it was a close one.

The long and short of it is our country is divided right down the middle between those who wish to be productive & live in peace, and everybody else. If we don’t fix this pretty soon, we are doomed!!!

Before the changing of the guard in January, the Republicans should ram through the “Fairness in Government Act.” Which law would mandate that any information subpoenaed from the President by the House as part of an impeachment investigation would automatically be subpoenaed from the House leadership as well. Tax records, business dealings, family connections, private conversations, whatever is demanded of the President would be required from the Speaker and the chairman of the major committees, and from whomever voted for the impeachment resolution. All evidence made available to the Senate and the Justice Department.
It’s only fair. Aren’t we all in favor of transparency in government?

The Senate got secured to (R) control because the nation was livid at the treatment of Kavanaugh by the Ds, the MSM and CBF who is as phony as a $3-bill.

The House barely flipped to (D) because, although the economy is improving in certain segments (watch out for the housing crash that’s already starting, plus the increasing interest rates, and the tariffs mess), the nation wanted breaks put on Trump’s crudity and rhetoric.

The Nation is still extremely divided. Approx 30% on the Progressive Left (No! Socialism and PC Policing of America is NOT the answer).

Approx 30% on the Trumpism Right (No! He is NOT the second coming of Ronald Reagan. He isn’t worthy of carrying Reagan’s jock strap).

Approx 10% on either side who hold their noses for their respective sides.

And the remaining 20% in the middle continue to vacillate from election to election, and have no clue about anything civics, politics and public policy-related.

Because he was such a HUGE target for the far-out left-wing progressive wackos that they sunk $70 Million of their outside resources trying (and FAILING) to defeat him. And, because of that, those financial, PR and media resources were NOT spent on other races that could have easily tilted the Senate to (D) control.

New Hampshire had seen the national issues; Trump rally crowds across the nation, watched the Dem Resist, Kavanaugh debacle, impeachment threats, MSM, Trump coming through on most campaign promises, etc.
NH also understood that the continued lost of our state’s – Live Free or Die – life we enjoy would be exponential under the Dems with no Constitution Carry, draconian gun laws, mandatory seat belt and auto insurance, sale sales tax, income tax, increased business tax, more government mandates, etc. NH voters chose a Dem controlled State House and almost the Governor seat and sent two Dem Congressmen to Resist in DC. The NH Republicans/supporters did a good turn out for mid term and unless something happens I feel that this will be the best that NH can offer.
NH does not have a large enough knowledgeable body politic or the logistics to Constitutionally come together to Refuse to Comply and declare not to be “… in consent … [NH Art. 1] … All power residing originally in, and being derived from, the people,…[Art.8] …defending life and liberty… [NHArt.2] …and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state. So long, Jeffey, you steaming pile of excreta. Don’t let the door hit on the way out. BTW, the ‘toon looks like it could be the first day when the dipcrats take office and start forming circular firing squads, trying to outdo each other with their rabid agendas and subpoenas. This could be fun to watch. Must stock up on more Shiner Bock…………

Well, Desantis Won, Rick Scott appears to Have Won.

House is DNC 2 seat majority.

    Senate is firmly GOP

Not as good as I thought, but considering that the DNC only picked up half the races where the GOP incumbents retired, I would say there was no blue wave.

Trump can work with this if Maxine is fitted with a muzzle or Ball gag, and the New Dems decide that they want to keep their seats and work with the president and don’t play obstruction and impeachment games. If they don’t then the hammer is going to hurt…

There are still some 17 House seats that have not been declared. The tally is so close that if any go to GOP, it will be the tightest vote ever. 418 declared out of 435, 222 Dem, 196 GOP. 17 seats undeclared as yet.

Senate is 51% GOP, 44% Democrat, 2% Other. Just squeaking by, but gives dTrump an edge 🙂 however slight it may be.

I suggest that, instead of moping and sniffling, we keep an eye on Dan Crenshaw, 2nd TX Congressional district, a Navy SEAL who lost his right eye to an IED in the Helmand Province in Afghanistaan. He now wears an eyepatch, which gives him a rather rakish, pirate sort of look, and which that swamp creature with fake horse teeth on SNL made fun of last week. Crenshaw had the good grace to respond indifferently to an assh–e’s snide remarks.

Also, Beto O’Rourke dropped the “F” bomb in his speech “thanking” his supporters. An entire generation full of people like him think it’s okay to swear like a street bum any time of day or night, when it is not. Some intern at NASA almost lost her job over her social media use of profanity. That entire crowd of juveniles in adult bodies needs to learn some manners and what is and is not appropriate. A limited vocabulary like that shows a limited mind.

So, do not despair. Those lefterds may think they won, but in fact, they simply slid by this time. The HoR is a flexible entity in that regard. I suggest you stop giving up so easily.

From the Glorious People’s Republic of Corruptistan where UHaul is the only growth industry (aka Illinois) I’ll leave it to you fine folks to figure out just how screwed I am.

Just an inside baseball observation, how many House D were re-elected that have active indictments awaiting them i.e. Wasserman-Shultz? Who when removed from office will be replaced by the Gov of GOP state. They may not hold the house for long.

I don’t know if anyone else has posted from Utah, but here goes……..
Not all votes are in/counted, but a large percentage has, so unless the Hand of God intervenes……..
    =Utah 4th Representative District:
Mia Love (R) has lost/is losing to Ben McAdams (D).
Mia was a squish on many things, illegal aliens included.
But Ben will prove himself to be more hardcore Progressive Socialist DildoCrat than most people realize. Net loss.
    =Senate:
The carpetbagger Mittster Romney easily won, replacing retiring Orrin Hatch.
Just replacing one RINO with another, no gains there, possibly some losses, as Mittster always was a McCain-style “hands across the aisle”, buddy-buddy, go-along-to-get-along with the DIldoCrats. (as you can see, I’m not a fan, unlike my wife who says, “he’s such a nice man, we need gentility back in politics”. GAK!)
=Most other races went to incumbent Republicans (RINOs). Neutral.
=Question 1; “Would you approve an increase in the gas tax to be used to increase school funds and spending?” HUH!? Ummmm……not only NO, but HELL NO! The gas tax is to be used to maintain the roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. The schools are funded, in large part, by property taxes. Cross-mixing the two like that, just BEGS for accountability problems. Fortunately, this one went down in flames.
    =Utah Constitution Amendment modifications:
==A; Modifying the period of time that a military placed on orders and out of the state to qualify for a property tax exemption. The original was, you had to serve 200 days within a calendar year (1 Jan-31 Dec). The modification would allow 200 days within a year’s period (360 days). I voted YES. Haven’t heard how this one went so far.
==B; Amended to authorize a property tax exemption when a private property owner leases/rents to a Gubbement (state/county/local) agency. I voted YES. Haven’t heard how this one went so far.
==C; Dealing with calling the State legislature out of session/emergency/crisis.
=Prop 2; Medical Cannabis. I voted NO, but it passed. We shall see. I think this one was SO over-written and bloated, it will be abused for recreational use.
=Prop 3; Expand the State Medicaid. I voted NO, but I think it passed. Now watch the legislature come back later to increase taxes, to pay for the bloat.
=Prop 4; The Gerrymandering (Redistricting) Commission. I think I voted YES. And I think it passed.

A lot of stuff. Mostly neutral. But with McAdams in the House, and Mittster in the Senate…….brrrrrrrr….I can see Mittster being one of those (with “civility” of course) being one of those being in the pack investigating the “Russian Collusion”. With all that entails. BARF!

I’m sad to report that the elections in New York State went full Progressive. Progressives/Democrats have gained total, overwhelming control of the Governorship, the Assembly, and now, the Senate. 🙁
