Day By Day

I missed that routine and wish it was used against all the blithering idiots that blather on their opinions as if it were actually news.

    • MasterDiver

I remember Rowan and Martin did a non-Laugh-in special called “Rowan and Martin Bite the Hand That Feeds Them”. The first sketch was about how the Networks STAGED the news, and created fake issues, such as race (Sammy Davis Junior insisted that the Jewish thing was passe`, so they had to invent another oppressed minority, so why not make them a different color?). I searched for the video, but couldn’t find it. It is so UN-woke, they probably burned all the copies. And this was made over 50 years ago!
      Zar Belk!!

      • Henry

I did note that Jan and Damon are reaching back 50 years for “the best in entertainment.” And that’s the name o’ that tune.

(Can’t wait for the sketch where Schumer has to live in a van down by the river.)

  • Too Tall

Far more truth and value in that routine than in what passes for “media” today.

  • Too Tall

Off topic and off screen: Kiko, it’s way past time you laundered ‘Toly’s shirt, ironed it, hung it on a hangar, covered it with plastic, took it to Naomi, and apologized.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled DPN programming.

    • Not so fast on the segue…
Yes. And she should be wearing another of ‘Toly’s shirts. Action!

Now to the anchor desk…it was true for Jane and it’s true for Jan.

  • Mike-SMO

It can’t be “entertainment”, they have their clothes on. Or maybe it is “infotainment” and they are about to advertise a national laundry & dry cleaning chain. Then, take those dirty clothes off.

Yah. I know. One track mind.

  • Jim Smith

Another LOL panel! It’s great having the kid look at the older generation and thinking…huh? Or “good stuff!” L.O.L. Good stuff Chris!

  • William Henry

Saturday Night Live did a skit in the late 70s where Chevy Chase was the pitch man for South African gold coins.

He was showing gold coins that had a black man on the front with large lips… the ending line was.

( Ni****rands, The Coins That Keep On Smiling )… this is probably buried in a vault so deep it will never see the light of day.

What’s Old is New Again. Though why do the bar sinister left considered themselves to be Royals when they are not. They are gold and silver objects which tarnished and peeled to their true substance of corrupted flesh and paid for souls.

    • Halley

what a privilege to be on a forum with people who can use bar sinister ; )

      • Pamela

Thank you. 😉 I was blessed to have two English and History Teachers who spent time overseas when they were children.
One Teacher had Parents in the Diplomatic Corps and were stationed in China circa 1900. Another Teacher was in Africa around 1920. Any student of theirs learned the subjects or rued the proverbial day.

      • Thor Odinsson

And here I, at first, thought it was a reference to the old Underdog cartoon character Simon Bar Sinister! Gosh, I’m so low brow!

    • Considering the prevalence of illegitimacy among “royals” the label is apt; let them be the kept pets of a sick and self-loathing “society”, fattened and entertained until it is time to meet the sword…

  • My Way Or -->

Oh, I do long for those days when Dan Akroyd could look at Jane Curtin and say with a straight face: “Jane, you ignorant slut”, and get away with it.

Despair ye not: the Kind’s English shall return, whether tie Idjits like it or not. Most of them are too under-educated to understand Shakespeare’s elegant and eloquent speeches.

  • DogByte6RER

20th century skits also remind me of 20th century questions, especially like … Who Is John Galt?

Who Killed Ashli Babbitt? should become the zeitgeist question for our current 21st century predicament …

  • The Basseteer

“Who Killed Ashli Babbitt?” Great idea for a bumper sticker.

    • AngryWhiteMaleChauvanistNeanderthalRightwingExtremist PaulS

I think they finally admitted it was who they had denied it was after the internet sleuths nailed it in a couple days.
No need to say again since not a damn thing is going to be done about it anyway.

      • More than that Paul. Like the Galt line the question is existential and has many answers and implications. It reads in the mind like:

        “Who (Really) Killed Ashli Babbit?

      • Henry

Nope, they continue to deny the obvious, to the point of suggesting that there was a female shooter who just happened to be wearing the exact same bracelet.

How about a DPN Exclusive deep in the heart of Texas? Texas State Guardsman: Leadership Is Trying To Indoctrinate Us To Far-Left Ideology

    https://lidblog.com/texas-state-guard/

    • MasterDiver

If they tried that in the South Carolina state Guard, the senior staff would find themselves stripped of rank, uniforms, and possibly underwear before being forcibly ejected into oncoming traffic.

      We are MARION’S MEN!

      Zar Belk!

      • cb

Perhaps what prompted this – finally:
BREAKING: Texas Governor signs ‘constitutional carry’ bill into law; starting Sept. 1, Texans may carry handguns without a license or permit.

        • Citizens of the Free State of Texas:

We have met the militia. And he is us.

          • Nancy

I just drank a margarita in celebration.

        • Dread

It’s high time that the good people of South Carolina threw off the holds on office by the would be despots and took back our inalienable rights. Constitional carry being at the lead of that pack.
