Day By Day

  • Pamela

    When will the dunking commence?
Who will draw out the ill humors from this misguided female of the addled wits?

    • James F Gemind

Read the Poem. Fair warning, put your drink down…

    • JSStryker

      Can’t dunk her, she’d melt…:)

      • Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman

And you talk like that’s a bad thing.
But just don’t drink or use the water for the next hour until she’s fully dissolved and dissipated.

        • Joan M.

An hour to dissolve, but at least a week for the water to clarify..

  • James F Gemind

Baen’s bar, in the Kratskeller, there is the Poem, The Song of Lieawatha. You simply have to read it! 😈

  • James F Gemind

    Widest dissemination has been Authorized. A sample;

    The song of lieawatha
    By Tom Kratman

    Part the First

By the banks of the Charles River,
Right across the shining gilt dome,
    On the application job-worth,
Near the old prestigious brick yard,
    lieawatha, also known as
    Spreading Bull and Fauxcahontas,
Filled her out the little boxes
Checked she off the lie, “Cherokee.”
Never thinking she’d be found out
    Thinking much of salary bloated
    Contemplating huge fees speaking
    Prestige endless, public office.
    Thought she, “What’s one little white lie;
Lesser still one little red one?”
    In she turned the application.
Made she Harvard swoon in virtue
“Have we now our red professor!
Better still, red not in one way,
But in two, with massive virtue,
    From her ancestors oppressed.”
Drew she then the massive salary
    As her students became debt-slaves.
Ran she then for public office,
    With her resume of virtue,
And she won but still some noticed
That her story didn’t add up.
    Yet lived she in Massachusetts
    Where the palatable lie is
    Infinitely preferable
To the truth, hard and unvarnished,
    Just provided that the students
    And the professoriate loony
Can still feel their wondrous virtue,
Signaling it to the whole world.

    • Baen requires registration. You can post the whole thing here, if Chris doesn’t mind.

      • eon

I just (finally) registered at the Bar, to read it. Classic. Just like all your books I’ve read.

        Well done.

        • James F Gemind

Welcome! Fair warning, don’t accept candy, kittens, puppies or presents from EvilNed, or Leaperman(ESPECIALLY Leaperman!), and make sure to update your shots.

          Ask the Colonel or Chris…

      • James F Gemind

Awaiting his Okay then. Per your statement Colonel, widest Dissemination has been authorized… 😈

      • GnomeKing

Huge Fan of Mr. Kratman’s books. I’ve noticed quite a few references on this comment section of several of the sci-fi books I grew up with. “Clear Ether”.

  • Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman

Ahhhhh, what a dream, to have the public stocks for punishment once again.
    Got rotten tomatoes at hand?

    • Pamela

Chamber Pot Contents were once the norm

      • eon

        We still have that, unfortunately going the other way;

WARNING; NSFB- Not Safe For Breakfast.

I’m wondering when some “homeless” crazy is going to do something stupid enough to actually, you, know, get them locked up.

For that matter, I’m wondering if there is anything a “homeless” crazy can do that will get them locked up, anymore.

And not just in CA. I’m seeing more and more SWS (Seriously Weird S#!t) on the streets, right here in SE OH.

Ones with pictures of Grant or Sherman were popular in the South.

    • GWB

Bringing back the stocks and tarring and feathering would do much to advance the accountability of our politicians.

Of course, you have to increase the accountability of your electorate FIRST………

      • interventor

Consider myself a moderate — tarring and feathering, followed by a trip on a fence rail to the city or county line is sufficient for most politicians. Rope is for special cases.

  • Too Tall

Although the media is avoiding the story like the plague, the whole latinx thing is blowing up in the Progtard DildoCrats’ faces.

Culture strongly influences how an individual thinks.

The concept of gender (masculine, feminine, or neutral) is important to the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. As a result of being culturally immersed in the concept of gender, Hispanics tend to intrinsically understand the difference between gender and sex (male or female). They are certain about whether they are a latino or latina, and routinely use the masculine gender (latinos) when talking about a group that includes both sexes.

A group that represents less than 3% of the population is not going to dictate a change to their culture

    • Wood

“ A group that represents less than 3% of the population is not going to dictate a change to their culture”

Sure seems to be so here. Backlash, if there is one, may be brutal.

      • eon

William S. Burroughs (1914-1997), author of Naked Lunch, Nova Express, and etc., used to divide the populace into what he called the Johnson Family and the Shits.

The Johnson Family were the live-and-let-live types, who really didn’t give much of a damn what you did as long as you (a) didn’t hurt anybody and (b) didn’t get in their faces about it.

The Shits , according to WSB, had an uncontrollable need to pass judgement on everybody and everything else and to be treated as though they were always right about everything.

Being a homosexual member of the Beat Generation, WSB naturally identified the “liberal” American mentality with the Johnson types, and the “conservatives” with the Shits.

Today, it’s gone almost totally the other way. There are few bigger “Shits” than the average “woke” type. and modern-day “conservatism” is more-or-less what WSB would have called “liberal”.

I’m not sure Burroughs could cope with the modern brand of “progressive”, even as a member of at least three of their “protected classes”.

        • JTC

Nice eon, a lovely literary allegory to make your point. Very accurate as to what has happened to liberalism. but I’m not sure very much of what now passes for conservatism bears much resemblance to Burroughs’ description of the Johnsons; that more-or-less scale is tipped way to the less side anymore.

That’s a shame as the Johnsons libertarian lifestyle embraces the very definition of conservative politics as the sparing employment of gov in the lives of free and decent human beings. That is nearly gone from the R version of our politics, replaced with an ersatz version of the liberals; similar imposition of government interference and control with different agendas but the same strangling effect.

Part of the appeal of Trumpism/Deplorableism is the intent to loosen that hold and escape the social and financial controls that are the hallmark of both brands of elitist monarchy.

Our pending civil war in this country will be all about that.

  • Pete231

Put a fork in her, she’s done !

    • Insanity is never done. A tool for those who desire chaos, insanity is a weapon of the Beast.

    • Too Tall

Why would you want to torture that poor, innocent, fork? What did it ever do to you?

  • Baroness Warren is pushing Registered Apprenticeships to get lifelong employment through the guilds unions. Because despite the plethora of affordable tech schools, ignoring free high school vo-tech instruction and labor demand so tight companies are paying people to get trained, saddling students with decades of student loan debt is BAD. But chaining them to lifelong payments on the implied promise of work when available when the union wants members to work is GOOD.

Oh, and the campaign is selling a “Billionaire Tears” coffee mug, through Shopify, which benefits the billionaire CEO and founder of Shopify. But he’s Canadian, not American, so it’s all good.

    • GWB

Because it has worked so well in places like Germany for the last 100+ years.

  • Texas city seeks residents who will kill for the thrill.

Residents Authorized To Kill Invasive Ducks Running Amok In Town

The City of Pearland is allowing landowners and homeowner’s associations (HOAs) to “address the ducks as seen fit, and within legal parameters, by the HOA or the landowner.”

The city says residents can only kill the duck if they capture it on their own property. They say it cannot be kept, consumed or sold.

Killing ducks but it can’t be for food? Seems offensive. They’re ducks, not rats.

  • MasterDiver

You say that like it’s a BAD thing!

    Zar Belk!

    • MasterDiver

Oops. This is supposed to be up under the comment on not dunker her because she would melt

  • Halley

Epstein didn’t kill himself. The DNC employed a hit man.
    Bring back the stocks.

    • JTC

In some instances I would prefer the French version, aka “guillotine”.

Undeniably effective as a method of capital punishment, and the public enforcement of it has the additional effect of deterrence for any witness.

Better yet, it is thought that the head maintains an awareness for several seconds after being severed; how fitting for some who have committed such evil as we see now to have some time to enjoy the experience of what has just happened to them.

      • interventor

Accounts say about half of the severed heads were dead immediately. The other half looked around in horror and attempted to scream.

    • WayneM

Epstein’s death went too smoothly to be DNC. I’m think it was the Royals.

      • JTC

I dunno, the Arkancide killing machine has proven prolific, proficient, and so far unindicted. The Bitch and the Bubba can’t do much well but steal, stick, and kill, but they have done all of those with efficiency and impunity.
