    Zed, ever the consummate diplomat.

Easy for him, as he has any number of big sticks.

One could almost feel sorry for the Mayor, having to work with Karen and Triggly Puff.

Inquiring minds want to know if Sam had to pull the trigger to the second detent?

Would love to read Tucker’s Police Report on this one.

    • WayneM

Like most bullies, the Karens generally back down quickly when their arrogance isn’t tolerated. I doubt Sam had to light zer up…

I’ll bet the police report was nice, polite and very short.

I’m curious how critters like the Karens drifted so far out of the major urban centers. Usually the rainbow brigade stick to the big city.

Missionary syndrome. They feel they must spread the good word of their “gospel” to the heathens.

It’s almost but not quite as fulfilling as killing said heathens, in their egotistical psyches.

Plus, they can never be truly happy until everyone, everywhere, has to live under their boot.

Anyone who dares to not be Exactly Like Them must be punished- for existing.

Yes, because it’s a religion. A sick, twisted cult, that looks really nice and shiny on the outside (hey, who doesn’t want to live in ‘paradise’?) but is all rotten with bile on the inside. (OK, some wear the ugly on the outside. They even decorate it. *shudder* )

        • MasterDiver

In their perfect world, everything is either mandatory, or forbidden. They live in the constant fear that somewhere, someone is actually, truly happy.

What you are describing sounds an awful lot like dat “religion of peace”

The similarity to the fouling of many cities outside of California after the deterioration by Progressives os so much across California is Legion. The Western section of the states of Washington and Oregon come quickly to mind. The further destruction in parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado are easily seen. The drifting into many other states has occurred because of the fouling in California, but that is added to by fleeing rats from the Northeast, Illinois and New Orleans. The leakage from DC into Virginia and Maryland has been sad.
This is a horrible development that has been intended to fundamentally change (destroy) America.
This is part of that war we are in, even if people do not know that they are being warred against.
Defeat the enemy. Apply the law.

I realize the use of Karen is now a popular catch phrase but those two were not Karens. A Karen is too self absorbed in their own little world to worry about what goes around them. They are the toxic lawsuits waiting to happen. It’s a scam. Call the manager for preferential treatment and you get the discounts. I told the story of one Karen who bullied a hot dog stand cook into selling a 89 cent hotdog into a deluxe with the trimmings. A better term is a Mrs. Grundy because somewhere someone is having fun and they don’t like it.

        • Doggo

Shooter, you’re fighting a rising tide. The current internet meme definition of a Karen is a Wuhan Virus Snitch. i.e. the person who runs to the cops get the rules enforced against close personal contact, or against barber shops that stay open, or churches that hold services, or people who don’t wear masks, or anything else that intolerable governments are trying to force down our throats. Karens generally believe (or profess to believe) they are helping or saving someone. A herd of Karens is required for a Socialist takeover because even the special police and brownshirts can’t be everywhere.

      • Old Codger

I’m curious how critters like the Karens drifted so far out of the major urban centers. Usually the rainbow brigade stick to the big city.

The report would likely read quite similarly to one I had occasion to peruse some 40 years ago…

“While taking Private xxxxx into custody in the bathroom of the Junior Ranks Mess, he accidentally slipped and struck his head on the urinal…seven times. Report ends.”

  • Punta Gorda

Hey, it’s your council twit. You have control unless your too beta to deal with it Mayor…

But, in his defense, council twits are all over the place. Parker Florida had to have a special election to replace the one busted in a met buy in a local parking lot.

    • Punta Gorda

  • John M.

A “Karen” on meth – NIGHTMARE!

…but I’m surprised she was making her own run – they usually let the flunkies take care of that…

  • Pity. I was kinda hoping to see sparklers set off….

    • Agreed!

  • Kafiroon

Mr. Mayor should be very happy that beached whale did not explode like Oregon found out. Sizzling fat and ballistics could have occurred.

  • Too Tall

    Chris,

Superb denouement, while leaving the climax to our imagination.

Well played, sir. Well played, indeed.

So, who gets back to the house first? A Naomi-chastened Skye, or Zed’s Lil’ Ahab?

  • Fox2!

The city won’t press any charges? What about assault on a minor, kidnapping, and my personal favorite, conspiracy, and deprivation of rights under color of authority as specified in Title 18 USC. Emphasize that the penalty for violation of the Klan Act includes death*.

    * if the victim of the offense dies as a result. I know, not really applicable, but I want to see xir knees shake when xir hears Klan Act and death penalty.

    • Norm

That’s Zed talking in the yellow balloons.

    • Oldarmourer

Unless I’ve read it wrong, both kids are partially Asian, hence ‘visible minorities’ which the sjw’s love to bring into everything……

Given Naomi’s extensive, advanced training and skills in, um, eliciting information, I anticipate that she will return with actionable intelligence as to who the father(s) of Hugo, Eva, and Spot are/are not.

At a minimum, I expect that Spot will soon receive a proper name, perhaps Pamala’s superb recommendation. If not, Robert Wade is available and will give the young lad excellence and service to live up to.

  • John M

I’m thinking the mayor doesn’t know how lucky “the ladies(?)” were that Jo and Naomi were at the swimming hole and not at the ice cream social…

    • Punta Gorda

If Jo quick replaced that nose ring with a bit of her mass and retained control over it like she apparently did with the claymore fleechettes… it would have been hilarious watching the cow flail about into the furnishings of the shop seemingly of her own accord.

  • Bill G

Do town council members in Texas have police authority? If not, the whale had no reason to initiate contact with someone else’s child. Up here in the enlightened and progressive Socialist Republic of New York, if Mumsy and Popsy do not stop their little darling’s antics any onlooker who steps in is subject to legal ramifications.

    • Old Codger

Do town council members in Texas have police authority?

Nope. Only licensed peace officers. But when has such a thing as a legal nicety ever stopped a Karen from doing what she wanted to do?

    • Bill G

      Oopsie, my bad.

  • Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

The way I read it, ZED won’t press charges against the city/town/mayor/xers.

    • GWB

Yeah, it took me a few reads through to parse out the dialog.
(Primarily because there’s no dialog from the mayor to account for Zed’s conversational shifts in the first panel. And there’s a couple of shifts.)
      But I got it now.

    • Bill G

I eventually got that, only it took several readings. Low on caffeine is the excuse I’ll cling to.

      • Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

Too much blood in the caffeine stream at oh-dark-too-damned-early AM.

    • Old Codger

There is no way Zed could “press charges” against the city in any case. File a lawsuit, perhaps but the city committed no criminal act. The only potentially criminal act was Sam’s firing the Taser into Triggly Puff’s ass. Under chapter 9 of the Texas Penal code Sam’s actions were entirely justified so no criminal charges could be filed against Sam. Even then the local prosecutor’s office could have filed charges but then the prosecution would have had to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Sam’s actions were “b>not justified under Texas law. Any prosecutor with even a smidgen sense would know that there was no way he/she could possibly get a conviction. Good thing, too, since the act of removing the barbed electrodes from the whale’s ass would have produced wounds which could justify a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – a 2nd degree felony worth 2 – 20 years in the pen and/or up to $10,000 fine. We’re not just a bunch of cowboys here in Texas. If you’re going to assault someone, your actions damned well better be justified. Fortunately there is TPC Chapter 9.Just so you know, there are even sections of Chapter 9 covering the activities of parents and Peace Officers,

      • JTC

None of which applies if the xirs are acting on legal authority.

And if “cowboys” is the Tx version of what we call “rednecks” in the rest of the South, y’all need more of them not less; cowgirls too. Not realizing that is what happened to allow the cancerous growth of transplants around Austin, San Antone, Houston and etc.

  • Grunt GI

Wait?! Are the dynamic trio still at the swimming hole?

We were left hanging. So to speak.

    • Old Codger

Read my discussion above for why Sam wasn’t charged with aggravated assault or even aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. If you assault someone and it produces a wound which takes more than a day or so to heal, that is potentially aggravated assault. If a prosecutor wanted to play it that way, considering that people have died from being shot with a taser, said prosecutor could argue that the taser could be considered a deadly weapon. I do know that even Peace Officers may not lawfully carry a taser without being trained and certified. As I wrote earlier, we’re not cowboys out here in Texas. We’re not quite as “sissified” as some folks on the coasts but we’re not cowboys.

      • eon

Here in OH, Sam would not have been charged, since OH law states that use of deadly force is justified in defense of self or any other person.

And under the same law, a “less-than-lethal” device such as a Taser or pepper spray retains that legal distinction of non-lethality, even if the target expires as an indirect result of its use.

I.e., hypothetically, Sam had no way of knowing that the large person attempting to seize her children had a pacemaker which was stopped by the Taser pulse. Under OH law, the assailant assumes the risk of adverse consequences of their assault. (Sometimes called the “[s]he should have known better” principle.)

BTW, this is from OH statutes separate from the OH “castle law”. And much older, but still on the books.

        • JTC

However, the whale identified as an official officer which presumably applies to the x thing as well. Which if true and she was acting under color of law then Sam may be charged with interfering with and/or assaulting an officer, that would be true whether in TX, OH, or here in FL if any of them or their towns should hand out such power to such persons.

Not that it would change Sam’s response; that particular pig lays a hand on my child and the result would be electrifying or worse, regardless of any real or imagined power or affiliation.

You go Sam…do what you gotta do.

          • Kafiroon

            Yup.
I see that with the increase of draconian pronouncements of “regulations for our safety”, we may very well be into this type of situation to just live our lives.
The wannabe tyrants are arresting people for disobeying their edicts. Shop owners who have opened up because they either work or go bankrupt. Their quasi-legal orders now cause us to lose our homes, cars and in many cases our jobs because of no income. Join the bread line.
Tomorrow, I will be helping a church distribute thousands of bags of food. The numbers have grown every Sat.
It is now the first of the month. Debts are due. Have unemployment checks arrived? Are they enough to keep a family together?

          • Bill G

In the strip from the 28th, it was the whale’s partner that claimed to be a town councilcritter. And it was when instant obedience did not follow her orders that the whale swam into the picture. (Kind of reminiscent of “We need some muscle over here”, eh?)
Which puts me completely at a loss.

          • Oldarmourer

In that case the ‘official’ has stated responsibility for any and all acts subsequent to that announcement and the, in this case municipal, entity that she claims to derive her authority from becomes responsible for the actions of it’s ‘agent’, hence Zed’s reference to not pressing charges against the town, and by extension, it’s councilor. I’d go a step further and sue anyone who would admit voting for said ‘councilor’ 😉

Would that it were so…but it makesfor a good story 🙂

meanwhile, up here, our ‘prime minister’ who is in a minority government is putting out an ‘order in Council’ which bans 15oo+ ‘assault weapons’, whatever those are, plus allows municipalities to ban handguns or any weapon from their jurisdictions…no need to go to Parliament or even make a case, it overrides our own ‘Constitution’ and ‘Charter of Rights and Freedoms’ and will eventually go to the Supreme Court who were almost all appointed by liebrals and will rubber stamp it, but by then the door-to-door confiscation will be finished so even if it does get overturned, there will be nothing to return anyway.

          • NotYetInACamp

Not having a somewhat clear constitution does cause problems. No delineation or memorializing in writings of the rights given by God, such as in the US Constitution’s Bill of Rights, does come to create problems in defending such rights that are broadly implied by recognition of God directly in the Canadian Constitution as shown in its beginning:
            ” CONSTITUTION ACT, 1982
            PART I
CANADIAN CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS
Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law: … ”

God’s law which also made Natural Law includes the right of self defense.
So, with legal recognition still to come, all Canadians have the rights God’s Law gives them. The USA codified those God given right to specifically include the right to bear arms.
By its inclusiveness, the Canadian Charter includes the US recognized rights and more.
Some Canadians need to run with that.
Trudeau’s unilateral declaration are in violation of that part of the Canadian Constitution, and thus, in a standard constitutional analysis, thereby void, a nullity, as if his declarations and orders never existed.
But rights are never protected unless asserted. No one gives you rights. You assert your rights that you have. Canadians recognized those rights in a broad manner. Now Canadians must simply (simply the man says) assert those rights.
            They are yours.
            Use them.Convince others.
            Get them to join you.
Get the local government to join the ideas.
Get the RCMP to understand and agree, At all levels.
Get the Canadian military to agree.
Get the indiginous nations to agree.
Get all the rest of the citizens to agree.
Think of the vast rights recognized when the Supremacy of God is recognized.

            What a country! Canada

          • John M.

A city councilperson is NOT a Peace Officer nor Officer of the Court, and does NOT have authority to arrest in any municipality of the U.S., to my knowledge. They were out of the scope of their authority the second “Karen” identified xirself (xerself? ximself? I’m so confused!) as a council member.

Zed said he wouldn’t bring charges, but that doesn’t mean the ‘ladies’ are off the hook with the sheriff or the County Prosecutor…

  • steveb919

Damn! Sam didn’t light-up the blob. What a waste of a good opportunity.

  • Oldarmourer

The ‘confiscation’ will be surreptitious and not laid out in the Oder-in-Council.
The last ‘gun control’ Act gave clear and special authority for police to enter your house at any time and without warrant to ‘inspect’ your storage conditions and if they aren’t 100% in line with whatever new regulation they dream up on the spot, your property will be confiscated and charges possibly laid.

There was an incident in High River a few years back where there was a mandatory evacuation due to flooding, people weren’t allowed to take anything with them and in any case they wouldn’t have been able to take their firearms since they didn’t have transport certificates and nobody was issuing them.

rcmp went door-to-door, searching for and confiscating anything they found, going so far as to take entire gunsafes, if they couldn’t open them, on the grounds of ‘unsafe storage’.

It happened once, it’ll happen again.

    • NotYetInACamp

See my comment on Canadian’s rights granted them by God and recognized by the Canadian Constitution.
Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of Law.
God’s Law and God’s natural Law recognize many rights including the right of self defense and much more.

Y’all should have a right recognized to have personal fully armed and equipped seventh generation AVRO Arrows. But that idiot PM destroyed them and the world leading aircraft and space industry after being snookered by President Eisenhower. That “conservative” PM began a downward spiral that still can be reversed, but at a cost.
Assert you rights that the supremacy of God granted you.

      • Oldarmourer

You have to remember that it was sockboy’s father who ‘gave’ us that ‘Constitution’ and it was carefully written to be interpreted anyway a liebral gov’t wanted or needed it to be and since the likelihood of our Supreme Court ever having a minority of card carrying liebral party members is pretty much zero since they make sure to have ‘fresh blood’ appointed in the event it looks like the liebral party might lose an election in order to get them past the intervening years, it will always be interpreted in the way that gives the socialists more power in the end, no matter who brings the challenge forward or about what.

        • NotYetInACamp

The liberals have brought into what formerly was Canada, the first non nation, (young Trudeau said that) all sort of massive numbers of non Canadians, many third worlders, who would vote for the Liberal teat to give them money. It is planned. By any means necessary. Without the new non Canadians the Liberals would not win. What to do. Assert your God given rights. Maybe the Canadians were too civilized and polite, and the liberal scum are never concerned about such.
You have been at war. Minority government Trudeau is the leader of the enemies of Canada. Scum deal you have there.
