The Neville Chamberlain School of Diplomacy: “If we’re nice to people who want to destroy us and give them lots of money, they will become democrats and be our allies.”

At a conference I attended this weekend one of the speakers, who has a good track record, started with the fact that a lot of terrorists have come across the Southern and Northern border, and predicted either a series of, or simultaneous attacks by large teams (10 or so) on widespread targets, like the one in Mumbai, in the U.S. this year.

    He hopes he’s wrong.

Read the first part of Tom Clancy’s “Teeth of the Tiger”. (And keep a REAL pigskin handy, or a ham sammish).

Absurdistan was here. Now, we have to grow away from there. And be prepared. Semper paratus.

If there is such an attack, or worse (better?) yet a series, the national inching-away from the Left will become a full blown stampede.
I fear a great deal from such a backlash because of the fact that our useless schools have banned the use of Reason and Logic and the nation will slam itself into a reactionary frenzy instead of analyzing how we got here and what we can do about it.
One thing had become obvious to me though.
When the Constitution was forged Representatives, unless they were truly exceptional, had little chance of getting serially reelected, which now we know was a good thing.
I think we should seriously consider a Constitutional Amendment staggering terms to make said Representatives pay more attention to the business at hand rather than the next election.
