WTP have not forgotten you, but the politicians have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to you AND to us!

This is “yesterday’s” ephemeral toon I referenced, and the answer to the soldier’s sad question…

No. You are not forgotten. Get the rest of our young people the fuck out of that thousand-year warring warren of sand rats and bring them home to the CRA.

First order upon patriation to our new Republic; find the sniveling little pos with daddy issues who is responsible for you and thousands like you being there and dying there and stomp him into a bloody pulp. Second order; find the sniveling pos with alzheimer’s issues who would send you to some God-forsaken place even worse and…well you know what to do with him.

Did my time in Iraq and “the Stan”. Saw lives and money wasted for no good reason. Like a sewage treatment plant for a city with no sewers, no technicians to run the plant, or chemicals to operate it. However, The military industrial complex is alive and doing very well.

Bring them home. Bring all of them home now!

Get back! Nancy needs a new Praetorian Guard Unit to relieve the NGs who guarded the coup. And bring back a few of them Muzzie RPGs; I have some redecorating in mind.

I was very disappointed in Mattis, I thought finally here is someone who will come up with a plan for victory; but no, he was just another political hack who adjusted the dithering in the desert levels.

And for many they are forgotten. America is not at war, the military is. America is at the mall and the beach.

I heard that the mofo did not like the nickname “Mad Dog.”
      Ridiculous.
Being respectful, how about the ‘gentleman soldier’?

The Taliban have already started with their quarreling, because the USA didn’t meet the May 1st deadline. So what happens when that 9-11-21 date rolls around?

Bring our people home now, you fools.

Yes, the elation that was Mattis, was very short-lived. Obama was only too successful in gutting our military leadership.

War usually shows the weak and ineffective and is used to cull the herd.
The leftists are using it to install a leadership of yes-men and military incompetents.

I believe it was Rudyard Kipling who said this is where Empires go to die. The really sad part besides the lives of our people and money thrown away is that the Chinese will gobble it up for its rare earth minerals and they will sterilize the place of the Afghanis’.

But all the sniping at the “military industrial complex” is wasted ammo.

The MIC is just an entity run by fools with an agenda; it’s the fools what need killin’.

And then that complex will return to what it ostensibly is and should be, just a provider of materiel that must follow the rules of supply and demand like all biz.

That nasty sand litterbox could have been turned to glass from afar in 2012, with not a single boot on the ground. The troops were there to “rebuild” a fucking place that does not want it, can not handle it, and does not deserve the sacrifice made for it…and all the while our boys were/are sitting ducks in a shooting gallery and our treasure was/is all burned for nothing.

2002 not 2012, but even then it was not too late to save hundreds of our mens’ lives and billions of our $.

      But that didn’t fit Shrub’s or Zero’s agendas…
      Pretty redundant there actually.

I was saying that we should be in Afghanistan three months max, and just to take out that son of a major Saudi building contractor.
If we had avoided that $hit ass nation building, we might still have the respect of Islam and the Afghans.
Afghanistan is a society that lives to kill. I have read about and talked with those that know that culture. We should not have been there, especially on day 91. They respected our revenge. They considered the nation building we wasted trillions on as an insult to Islam worthy of killing for, as are all insults to Islam to followers of Sharia.
The editor of Soldier of Fortune had it correct with his editorial published the day before the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. He stated that the best way to deal with the terrorism we were taking back been would be to not put troops on the ground. It would be to simply ask the governments in which terrorists were to hand them over. If they did not, then start steadily taking out various infrastructure in that nation until the government turns over the terrorists that we asked for. Such action is easiest when using Navy aircraft or cruise missiles. No real need to actually get the terrorist. Return the nation to their beloved 7th Century. (I was good enough for their prophet.) Then make the request again in a year or so.
I haven’t read that editorial in ages. That it was published right before the attack is interesting.

The afternoon of 9/11/01 the first nuke should have landed on Damascus. Then south and east (skipping over Israel) ’til we ran out of sand or expendable expendable nukes. As for our supposed military leadership, it seems that competence gets an officer to Captain or Colonel (O-6). After that it’s nothing but politics.

Lt. Colonel is tops without a sponsor in Congress to go to bat for you.
Instant Corruption of the senior ranks in the military is practically assured.
Some few can remain true to their Oath if they have superior integrity, but the pressure to kowtow to the Buddyocracy is incredible.
IMHO the real problem this Republic has is the fact that, once elected, those elected form a cabal hidden from the electorate.
Once upon a time this was less of a problem. Representatives, for all practical purposes, served one term only. Senators answered to their States.
I’ve run across only one scheme that makes sense to combat the Buddyocracy. 1) Adopt Non Partisan/ Approval voting, letting the voters select anyone and everyone they like on the ballot without Party Reference. 2) Adopt the non-succession scheme used by the Virginia Governorship for _every_ office. And 3) let everyone run for every office but his own simultaneously in any given election.
Note that this makes the person and not the office the center of attention for graft and flushes bribery to the top for exposure while pretty much forcing the candidate to point to his own accomplishments rather than the other guy’s faults.

Patriots have not forgotten our troops, in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

The irony of this particular strip appearing on Victory in Europe (VE) Day is telling.
