Mine are at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery here in Alamo town. Mom got the bottom bunk while Dad’s in a beautiful hand-carved mesquite wood box in the top bunk. We try to go there at least a couple of times a year between major holidays (if you go on a holiday you have a hard time finding one of those green metal flower holder thingies) but there up on a wall where I can look at them and remember them when I want. The photo was taken a couple of years before my mom passed and I am almost as old as my mom was when the photo was taken. It’s kind of spooky.

I know you miss your dad as much as I miss mine. I just try to always remember him in his best years as a good man, husband to my mom and father to us kids. Not his final months. Those were hard but his only complaint was that the Lord wouldn’t take him yet and he was ready to go. He didn’t want to be a burden on us.
    Damn it’s dusty in here.
    Take care Chris.

Yesterday makes 7 years since my grandfather passed. He was ready. The family has been passing some of his last sentiments to each other, since he dictated his final thoughts to my aunt. Some of the family were too young to appreciate that back then, but I think they will now. Definitely seemed like pollen season this weekend. I have about 3 years of Grampa’s essays that I stashed in a folder named “wisdom by Grampa” that I plan to send back out. It seems no one else saved them. I wish I had saved them all.

Best memories: Mom chasing us kids down the street with a broom. All of us laughing so hard we could not run; she could not swing…
Dad telling us about the photo of him smiling in the sun out side a little shack in WWII, Belgium. He was in bomber clothes with helmet on and a 30 cal carbine hanging from his hand. His boys blew up the shack just after he walked away.
Too much aviation gas in the oil feed. No injuries though.

Hate to burst y’all’s bubble, but this reinforces the doctrine of Spiritism, which is not Biblical. Apparently most people don’t know this, but nowhere in the Bible is there life after death in the sense that your ghost is wandering about, observing the world, or that it goes to heaven or hell, or that it’s aware in any way whatsoever. That’s all made-up, pagan, Roman, Jesuit nonsense. It’s also the doctrine of the lie of satan, who told Eve, “You will not surely die”.

Nope, the sin in Eden introduced death into the world, and dead is dead and that’s the end of you. The Scriptures are quite clear on this matter. Next comes the second advent, then the resurrection, then judgement.

“But Lyle; I actually SAW my dead father (mother, grandfather, wife, brother, or etc.)!”
No you didn’t. That’s a trick. Stop falling for the lie! That’s all thoroughly examined in Scripture.

Lyle, you seek to replace one doctrine with another. That’s fine, to put it crassly, belief is like assholes, everybody has one.

I do find it disrespectful for you to proselytize yours in this context. Sometimes it’s best to just STFD and STFU.

When my mom passed, me, my brother, and my sister took her ashes to mountainous forest and spread her ashes under a tree.

Where’s that Texas justice I’ve heard about?

‘Find the motherf***ers who would do this’: GoFundMe set up after Antonio Basco’s car stolen hours after his wife’s funeral in El Paso

Made the national news when all those people showed up to help him bury his wife. Kind people even got his car serviced and fixed. Animals stole that car not a day later and deliberately wrecked it, hard, it’s junk now.
