Constitutionally the President CAN invoke the Insurrection Act.

All of “can’t, won’t, shouldn’t, and mustn’t,” are feelings, nothing more than feelings….

    • steveb919

Let us hope he does invoke the Insurrection Act. Something has got to give.

      • My Way Or --->

        Patience, there.

        • John

          I agree MYO.
This is a social conflict in dire need of object lessons.
Give them enough rope to hang themselves I say.

    • Old Codger

He can invoke any act he damned well pleases, that does not mean the nomenklatura in the DOIJ will prosecute. See yesterday’s strip for illustration. Barr, Durham and company have an airtight, open-and-shut case and flat out will not prosecute. PERIOD!!! Get it through your heads, friends. The nomenklatura WILL NOT police itself – not now, NOT EVER!

    • And…BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fronk!

Ann Coulter had an excellent thought to share on this topic Wednesday:

“You can’t keep warning voters about widespread lawlessness if Biden is elected president when there’s already widespread lawlessness and you’re the president. Right now. That’s you.”

    • Old Codger

With all respect to Miss Ann, yes, you can – when you own the media and thus control the narrative. They already blame the violence on the President – and self evidently are getting away with it!

      • PaulS

It’s even worse than that, if the left wins, they will blame the violence on the victims of the mobs, oh wait, there is no violence.

        • Henry

It’s mostly peaceful violence. It’s only 7% violent peace.

          • GregD

I see what you did there…..

  • Pamela

The Millies have no clue on the cost and price of what they think they want.
Worse case of bait and switch … it’s like the perpetual virgin hooker

    • Ah'm Jus' Sayin'

Pamela > “BUH .. Buh … I wanna tall shiny new trophy like I always got in grade school from Teacher for not scraping my chair on the floor while she was reading to the class!” Oh those were the Happy Days of America!

    • steveb919

Like to see the perpetual virgin hooker. LOL

      • Old Codger

“Perpetual virgin” . . . Isn’t that what jehadists are promised 72 of when they dies for the cause? A few years back I was visiting with my Dad’s last surviving sibling and mentioned the Mud-slime’s vision of paradise. Her response was something like “Eternity with 72 women doesn’t sound like heaven to me!” Smart lady, that one. Real smart lady.

        • John

IIRC the Hori aren’t technically women, they are idealized to be _better_ than women.

          • Henry

I think the Japanese make those now.

        • interventor

Remember, the only word those ladies can speak is “peace.”

The same old song, with a new verse. But the chorus is always the same. Somehow, news of what happened to professors in Mao’s Great Leap Forward didn’t get into our Ivory Towers.

    • JavaMan

No, no … it did get there. “They just didn’t do it right – we’ll do it the right way” is their answer to every example of it tried throughout the world over the 20th century.

Apparently they think they are more enlightened now. This quote comes to mind: “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

  • Paladin

I keep wondering how Civil War 2.0 will play out. The lines are urban areas vs rural areas. No Maison-Dixon line for the sides to fall back on. What will be the Fort Sumter moment? I think it will be the Nationalization of everyone’s 401K, but for that, it will take a democratic President, House, and Senate.

    • Too Tall

      42 million dead Americans.

Like watching a remake of the Titanic, you’ve seen this movie before in Yugoslavia, Zimbabwe, Somalia, and other countries. The boat sinks.

Divisions along racial, tribal, and family lines. The settling of old scores leaves grievous wounds that won’t heal for generations. Most of the destruction in urban areas with cities becoming significantly depopulated. Those individuals who are notable will find that their prominence and fame ensures their and their families continuous targeting and certain death.

The upside is that the Left becomes extinct

      • John

I’m afraid that’s just the problem. The Left is a symptom of human nature, not a mere political movement. Killing them all only delays the inevitable. New ideas based on other equally specious notions will arise to be advocated at the point of a gun.
The only thing we can do is push for the Rights of the Individual and the Rule of Law. We have made great strides over the centuries doing just that and ,objectively speaking, we are no where near losing our grip unless our own side panics.

    • Old Codger

Read a series of books recently that brought home an important truth about civil war in our time. It’s all right if you’re on the winning side but not so much if you’re not. In the book there was a foreign led/financed concerted effort to massively influence the 2020 election up to and including terrorist actions at early-voting poling places. When the conspiracy was exposed the incumbent in the WH tried everything in hi power to get the word out and publish the facts and evidence. Unfortunately, the left-controlled media labelled it “fake news” and whipped up support for insurrection. The left’s candidate “won” a narrow electorial victory but the incumbent refused to accept the results, having a vast store of incontrovertible evidence that the election had been rigged. Anyhow, long story short, the left’s candidate declared victory and ended upsetting up a government in exile while calling for a popular revolt. Over a dozen Democrat Governors sided with the Prog natch) and got much of their State Guards to refuse to nationalize after declarations of emergency and martial law.

After the dust settled the crossover National Guard members along with any civilians who fought with the rebels were rounded up and put into camps. Once there they were swiftly tried under military law and most were either shot or hung.

I believe that if there IS a Civil War, there will be no amnesty for the soldiers on the losing side – ESPECIALLY if it is folke like us end up on the losing side. I see no reason to believe that, should the Progs win, any all enemy combatants will be rounded up and executed – possibly without even a sham trial. Following that any/all visible/vocal dissidents will be rounded up and sent to camps for “reeducation’,

  • Henry

At the very least, women are getting more global now. I mean, have you seen Trigglypuff?

  • My Way Or --->

Watching this play itself out is like watching a really, really bad soap opera.

The western fires are almost entirely arson-based. The fuel load is overwhelming, so the arsonists did Mother Nature a favor, thinking they were destroying the world.
If you can’t see the flip side of something, you limit yourself.

  • Kafiroon

Unfortunately, I believe those are the voices/thoughts, that are loudly talking to President Trump.
More “snatches” off the street of these insurrectionists, and a nice flight in a C-130 full of them to Venezuela, might serve to wake them up.
Maybe by the time they hitchhike back to the US boarder, they would be able to live here in peace.

    • MAJ Arkay

Why do that nasty to Venezuela? Just take ’em to Guantanamo and toss ’em in with the rest of the terrorists.

      • Kafiroon

If that is the case, two C-130’s.
First one makes a low pass down near Cuba and unloads lots of chum.
Then the second comes in low and slow, opens the rear and dumps them all out.
        Fish need to eat too.

      • My Way Or --->

I”m not sure that’s necessary. These idiots can’t survive without the abundance of provisions you find at STORES. They do not know how to be self-sufficient. If they want popcorn, they don’t get out a saucepan with a lid and put the oil and popcorn in that. They have to have a microwave and the ‘wave envelope full of it.
Find a way to isolate them that they can’t escape and I think they will wilt like weeds in a drought. Winter is coming, you know. Those tents they inhabit in a spot near Portland’s highway overpasses won’t keep them warm or fed, no matter what they think. It will be wet and cold where they are, with no way to get out of it into a warm environment.

They sky has finally cleared out the gray smoke from those fires, where I am. Clear and blue, some puffy clouds. May whoever set those fires get paid back for it.

The Supreme Court, loyalty in the military, the Army of Deplorables
… is what it will come down to should the Left actually launch their Insurrection/Civil War 2.0

I’m sure the number of people who believe the Left isn’t planning on defeating PDT, but is planning on liquidating him, is growing day by day…

    • Old Codger

The Supreme Court, loyalty in the military, the Army of Deplorables … is what it will come down to should the Left actually launch their Insurrection/Civil War 2.0

Only if they fail to steal the election six and 1/2 weeks hence. If they win, The Creator help us all and The Creator help America ’cause we’re damned sure gonna need it!

  • Chezz

If Trump wins, the left will try to contest the results until 1/21/21, so they can put Pelosi or someone like her in office. If Biden wins, welcome to the USSA. Take Psalm 91 very seriously, because you will absolutely need the protection. The Insurrection Act is probably a necessity at this point, when the media will call Trump a totalitarian dictator.

  • Pamela

    Jared…Go Stifle Yourself!

  • Halley

Ha!! I’ve long suspected I’ve been monitored and shadow-banned on the interwebs, but today I received my first ahem “fact-check” from the Democrat fascists at FaceBook (for the heinous crime of re-posting a Tucker Carlson interview on a private FaceBook page). Feels like a Badge of Honor. They’re desperate, which is good news.

    • interventor

I check for shadow banning by cutting off my cell from the internet and looking up what I stated on the site.

  • Buck

Soros’ coalition of elites has already actuated their program of ElectionDayChaos, which will not be a one day affair. Al Sharpton showed how that was done on a corporate scale for decades. Progressivism has expand that to a national scale. We may have to learn asymmetric warfare on the move.

  • JTC

Ivanka has always been DT’s voice of restraint and reason which DT has taken and considered and then did what he knew was right. She is correct in her assessments but fails to see that all of it is the effect not the cause. But Donald does, and you can bet his plans reflect that.

Jared? He wants to do good and he has done good; the Arab/Israeli agreements were largely negotiated by him. But again he is just a smart voice to temper and to be taken into consideration before making command decisions and taking the drastic action that almost certainly will be required regardless of the election outcome.

But it is us who will enact or react to it, and I give you my solemn promise that me and mine will not be rounded up for camp.

  • Punta Gorda

Many thanks to the line crews down here trying to restore our power. I’ve heard reports of crews from Oklahoma and the Carolinas in the area.

Based on a linear regression of the restored counts… probably about 4.5 days before we are back to 100% grid

    • Punta Gorda

      Baring FEMA interference.

      • JTC

You’re in Flarduh right? Must be the panhandle, guess I didn’t realize your services got hit so hard. Glad you’re okay, prayers for full recovery. So DT hasn’t fixed FEMA?

        • Punta Gorda

Dunno. Power came back up an hour ago. Maybe he has. I wasn’t expecting anything until tomorrow. Bugger part of it, I had just relegated myself to a cold shower (Sans the diesel fuel marine of my last cold shower on active duty)

Still beats stealing a sponge bath off of the ships chill water line. You have to be careful with that. Some ships use sea dye Marker in it to thwart such activities and to spot leaks. If you are seen walking around with florescent green skin, everyone knows what you did.

    • Punta Gorda

For comparison. I rode out Ivan 16 years ago in the same house.

Ivan had 115 mph winds for 4 hours… almost an identical strike geometry to Sally. Sally was only about 100 mph winds… but it lasted about 24 hours. Overall… the damage seems equivalent.

  • interventor

We’re in for a massive fight in the Senate. Most likely, in the streets, as well. When the new SCOTUS associate justice is chosen.

  • John M.

Amazing! Now the left is cursing Ginsburg because she DIDN’T RETIRE while Obummer was in office! Can’t that bunch say ANYTHING positive?

    • interventor

I’ll state, “go to God. May he be merciful, as he will, I hope for me and mine!”

  • NotYetInACamp

Considering the behavior of the Democrats and their allies since before the 2016 election on up to the present time, the next US Supreme Court Justice must be approved by the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell must fast track the process. The Democrats removed the limitations on rules in the past. We must approve a new Justice who will follow the US Constitution.
This part of the war must be won now.

The Democrats will try to pack the Supreme Court if they win enough seats, whether a new Justice has been appointed or not.

  • John M.

If PDJT and McConnell “fast-track” a Justice, you KNOW the Demonrats will “Scream Bloody Murder” as my mom used to say… After all of the other shortages this year, earplugs are probably next on the list!

  • My Way Or --->

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed. She does not wish to be buried until a NEW President (she said that word NEW specifically) is in office.

Are we living in those interesting times now? Or is that down the road a few?

    • interventor

      Expecting a resurrection, is she?

    • interventor

One of the Great Chinese Curses — may you live in an interesting time!

    • Too Tall

      For Justice Ginsburg:

      Mourners’ Kaddish

Glorified and sanctified be God’s great name throughout the world
which He has created according to His will.
May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days,
      and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon;
      and say, Amen.
May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.
Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored,
adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He,
beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that
are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.
May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
He who creates peace in His celestial heights,
      may He create peace for us and for all Israel;
      and say, Amen.

There is little that the Notorious R.B.G. and I agreed on, but death absolves all.

Besides, I haven’t got the time to dance on my enemies’ graves. It is the ones who are still alive that you need to pay attention to.

  • JTC

There is a short-list, no reason the process shouldn’t be swift and sure and totally partisan. What would they do? Exactly. Hey we read Ayers’ book too!

Cruz is at the top but has said he doesn’t want it. Hope he changes his mind and fast…he’d be perfect.

  • Kafiroon

    53 to 47.
    Strike that.
    50 – 50
    Romney, Murkowski and Collins.
Romney and Murkowski go with the Demons.
    Collins is up for election.
Does she or doesn’t she support President Trump’s choice?

    • interventor

Might be best to choose a lady, Harder to accuse them of sexual harassment. Plus, attacking her could be used against the attackers.

    • interventor

Then, President of the Senate Pence to the rescue.
