When I’m in Texas, I fit like comfortable shoes despite being born, raised & lived most of my life in Canada. That might be because I’m not suggesting new taxes, protesting for “common sense gun control” or abortion on demand.
I understand Calipornians moving to Texas don’t find it quite as hospitable. I’m not sure why.

Because a sickeningly large percentage of those who flee a liberal enclave do so because some one, single issue finally became too much for them. But they liked most of what they left, and want to bring it along/recreate it where they settle.

Magical thinking. They believe all the good things in their world, like tech toys, exist just because they want them to.
Also China, China, China. The big Red one, not the little one they wish did not exist.
As for food, it all comes from south of the border or across the sea, according to them. And electricity comes from Holy Wind and Holy Sun.
In their world, everything between the San Andreas Mountains and the Acela Corridor is not merely unnecessary, it’s an abomination.

57 would be fine for now. And carve a piece of Mexico off to form a new nation that is a protectorate and free so long as it does not cross us in vital areas like aid to Red Dawn, further invasion by land of asymmetric armies of small bands, allow drugs to enter the USA, allow sex trafficking, and they can take the up to 40,000,000 Mexicans and other invaders here and that is inckusive of all who do not pass muster of allegiance according to the 14th Amendment. Tom Perez, that may mean you.
Long time problrm creation as the democrat alliance has created around the world and in the USA is not solved easily. The pain they suffer is what occurs after the suffering of those already living the USA have suffered.
We can later choose who of that group that vote majority Democrat that we wish to reenter (or stay, rules are up in the air by the democrat alliance’s behavior)
We have to do good and begin solving the situation, not just talk and virtue signal by saying that we intend for good to be done,
Leaving a mess to clean up is a legacy, as the result of the clean up. Obama could someday be a catalyst for good. Of course, Obama never would have intended for this good to occur.
