    Haha…love the historical reference.

Seriously, it has become so obvious to me that ONLY Trump could have beaten Hillary. Damn, Jeb really would have had no problem lying back and enjoying it….he would have been another of a long line of “good losers” the GOP seemed destined to nominate.

They weren’t supposed to. The Loyal Opposition in a de facto one party state is there to Lose Gracefully and Join In Bipartisan Harmony with the Ruling Elite’.

Everyone else is to bend over, lube up, and assume the position. And pray that the “act of love” does not culminate with the rulers cutting their throat, or shooting them in the back of the head, while cackling maniacally and/or gibbering incoherently.

I’d like to read those too, eon.

Other good laws are from Robert A. Heinlein in Time Enough for Love and a subset of them can be found in The Notebooks of Lazarus Long.

A guy I actually served with picked his favs, copied them in calligraphy, his hobby, and sent them to RAH’s agent. RAH, never averse to making a buck agreed, gave my acquaintance Illustrator credit and published it. A pretty cool story from long, long ago.

      • March 9, 2017 at 8:02 pm
        eon

OK, guys, you asked for it. (OK, CM?)

        Eon’s Laws

        First Law

Human beings choose to follow belief systems, religious, political, or otherwise, which sanctify the sort of actions they would do anyway. The belief system just lets them feel self-righteous about what they want to do to others.

        Second Law

If someone repeatedly and constantly tells you that he wants to kill you, you owe him the courtesy of assuming he really means it and responding appropriately.

        Third Law

Hunter S. Thompson once observed that “entire empires have been done in by vengeful freaks claiming a special relationship with God”.

He forgot the even greater number of polities destroyed by even more vengeful freaks who believed that they, themselves, were God.

        Fourth Law

When anyone in government uses the phrase “For The Greater Good”, a smart man or woman quietly slides out through the nearest back exit. With one hand on their wallet, and the other on their sidearm.

(NB: See Chapter 1 of Methuselah’s Children by Heinlein for where I got this one from.)

        Fifth Law

Any social system that relies solely on the “better nature” of the rulers to protect the ruled from the rulers, isn’t worth having.

        Sixth Law

Never assume a politician will act against what he perceives as his personal best interests. And never, ever assume that he is being truthful when he acts in a way contrary to his philosophy and track record.

You will spend your life being surprised and disappointed.

        Seventh Law

There are two kinds of people who censor. Those who don’t want to face the facts and those who don’t want anyone else to know what the facts really are. Both are dangerous, just in slightly different ways.

        Eighth Law

“Race” is not destiny. Culture absolutely is. Religion and politics are just a part of culture. Culture is the “operating system” of a civilization. Like any OS, it’s a case of GIGO; Garbage In, Garbage Out.

        Ninth Law

Just because something is stupid or illogical won’t stop people from believing in it. Especially if they think they can get something out of it, like money or power.

        Tenth Law

On average, about one out of twenty people likes hurting other people just for its own sake. Also on average, about half of that five percent become professional criminals. The other half become professional politicians.

        Eleventh Law

Anyone who demands “social justice” has no interest in either “society” or “justice”. All they really want is power they can use to abuse everyone they don’t like.

        Twelfth Law

There is no racist worse than one who believes himself to be “tainted” by that which he despises.

        Thirteenth Law

Remember the Engineer’s Creed; When the real-world data doesn’t agree with the theory, believe the data and come up with a new theory. This is true of anything, but is particularly applicable to science and politics.

        Fourteenth Law

The Berlin Wall Theory; Only tyrants need to build walls and employ armed thugs to keep their subjects from fleeing.

        Fifteenth Law

Politicians should never seek to grant government powers they wouldn’t want their political opponents to have. Because barring a one-party dictatorship, sooner or later those opponents will be in charge.

That’s the list so far. I try to keep them general.

        cheers

Illegal invasion (immigration to liberturds) is the reason Donald Trump won the election.
Trump went from about 4% in the polls to shortly thereafter about 45% in the republican polls and then victory in the Republican primaries starting with thaqt issue.
Candidate Trump stated the same ideas that I stated in the LA Times that shut up the demanding rioters and various latin groups for a path to citizenship for all of the invading armies in the USA.
The ideas were those I took from Wong vs USA US Supreme Court (1898).
Trump his right to the heart of existing law in what he would do, and then what he would discuss concerning some new law in this area.
I additionally pointed out in various locations prior, that the US Supreme court also discuss US law and International law concerning that invaders, their entourages, and the children of invaders never gained citizenship in the invaded country they were in or born in, but always were the citizens of the invading nations or groups.
So. I say. make Mexico great Again. Give them back all of their Mexicans. That is something that can be addressed a few years down the line. Applying the immediate legal concerns with those presently here illegally is a major effort.

Jeb would have loved all of those invaders from the nation his wife was born in, and from many more.
Hillary would have had that Captain arrested and thrown in irons for bringing up the matter.

    • March 9, 2017 at 1:40 pm

Correct as we have discussed in relation to the Mexican invasion, anchor babies, and the wall. That was the primary focus of Trump’s first very successful issue in the primary debates.

But he did not, and we did not, realize how far along the greater invasion threat was and to what extent the invitation was made and accepted by the muslim to enable the potential influx by Islamic terrorists and warriors.

He did later, not sure just what the impetus was that re-focused him, but he absolutely did refocus in the general election process and hammered Zero and the Beast continuously about their failure to address it or even to acknowledge it and call the invaders what they are, i.e. Islamic terrorists.

That course correction more than anything else is what led to the cascade of deplorables waking up to the reality that the foreign invasion was two-pronged and very well planned…the invaders from the south, so many of whom are already in our midst would be allowed to stay and given the same rights as Americans to vote, get free shit, and thereby ensure the continued control of the presidency and ancillaries in congress. The master plan though once continued control was ensured, was (is!) to settle the warriors who would destroy us from the inside in addition to the world of jihadists and murderers who would seize control and conquer all western nations.

Both were (are) critical to the election of President Donald J. Trump. Both are as you say the linchpin for his presidency and for our survival. The other important issues are somewhat secondary but still critical. Protection of 2A is almost a settled issue; attacking it would have allowed the leftist invasion to take place with less armed resistance, aka civil war, but what happens with scotus will keep that safe for now and DT is on it with his nominee(s).

Healthcare too is tied to the invasion; it is unrestricted coverage of ILLEGAL immigrants that will kill the healthcare system and the entire US system of entitlements and monetary/budget control. That is why it is getting such coverage and attention from the leftists who still cling to relevancy through obstruction as controlling that health system is defacto control of the budget…they don’t give a rat’s ass about any of those poor widdle innocent people, it’s all about money and control…always follow the money.

It is all interconnected and it is all part of the plan, let us put our faith in God and our chosen leader to maintain the strength and focus that will be required to identify and defend from this multi-faceted attack, and from the enemies from within and without our country, and from within and without our own party.

We actually had a Civil War Union Army general like that. George McClellan.

He was a nearly perfect example of why training officers tend to be ineffective on actual operations. He could train men to dress ranks and do bayonet drill by the numbers, and spit-shine everything until you could see your reflection in it. But on campaign, he simply could not get his head into the battlespace.

In the Peninsula campaign (that was supposed to end with Richmond captured and the war ended in the summer of 1862- !), McClellan repeatedly failed to take ANY objectives, even ones he set for himself. His excuse was bad intel courtesy of Allan Pinkerton, head of Intelligence at the time. Pinkerton kept over-estimating CSA troop strength in the area; McClellan kept inflating Pinkerton’s estimates to justify his failures.

Lincoln replaced Allan with Col. Lafayette C. Baker (who could have taught “Wild Bill “Donovan a thing or two), Baker sent Allan off to troll Washington cocktail parties looking for Confederate agents (he somehow managed to miss Rose O’Neal Greenhow, though), and McClellan still kept botching the job, eventually flatly refusing to follow orders from higher.

Lincoln finally said, “General, if you are not going to be using my army I’d like to borrow it for a while”, and replaced him with George Meade. Meade’s philosophy was 1, get field commanders who knew what they were doing (Grant and Sherman) and 2, turn them loose. That may be why the war didn’t last past April of ’65.

In 1864 McClellan ran for president against Lincoln, as a Democrat. His platform? End The War Now- by agreeing to separate and letting the Confederacy keep everything they had. Oh, and reinstate the Fugitive Slave Law, too. (Keep in mind this was a year after both the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation.)

He couldn’t figure out why he lost by double digits.
