Neither one nor the other on that topic; I don’t know enough about it, but it was hijacking comments and getting abrasive. This place is for fun; I don’t take myself seriously, we’re here to shoot the shit, and that’s it.:)

“shoot the shit, and that’s it.”

Poetic. And the best possible way to say and see the truth. And truisms.

You may not take yourself seriously, but you strip makes some very good points about how things really are.

I’d say this is one of the top ten webtoons I’ve had the pleasure to read.

Cold shoulders can be thawed, though a sharp tongued lashing will need lots of contemplation to overcome. Forget the jewelery when this happens.

Hey! I’m in the estate jewelry biz and heavily depend on the stupid of the males of the species; actually works pretty well, don’t know what that says about the females, but I’m sure there’s another truism in there somewhere.

Contemplation you say? Huh. Right now I’m contemplating that tongue lashing thing; don’t know what THAT says about the males. 😉

i am curious about one question… Are there any voices left that are truly capable of getting us to rise up and rally? I hope so… If no one does I’m wondering how much longer until just trying to do so becomes criminal.

Some of those talking points I could agree with, as they can either be proven with facts, or argued with logic. Some are however just radio talk show BS, just to stir up the listening public and heat the phone lines to boost the ratings.
So who is this “Mokita”? He doesn’t get air time around here (SLC, UT) that I’m aware of. I’ll have to google him and see if he’s worth the fuss.

Perhaps, O Host—but, during my last tour in the Navy (in the Bay Area), I dated several lesbians. One of them, a classic “bull dyke”, was “bubbly” (to use the approbation in the article), especially when we were . . . uh, “intensely enjoying each other’s company”, so to speak. Maybe the fact that I met her at a Mensa party had something to do with that—as well as the fact that we discovered that we were semi-distant cousins (Tidewater Maryland, folks—not the hills of Arkansas!). But, yeah—most of the aphorisms DO seem a bit . . . well, “truistic”, do they not? (Mr. Egbert will now chide me for my disgusting display of paronomasia!)

The really weird part is that many people actually cultivate the stereotypes for the purpose of yanking other people’s chains. They actually enjoy showing off their bad manners, and will avow that good manners are some kind of cop-out rather that the grease that keeps civilization from grinding to a halt.

        David G.,

Wondering if that little exploit says you’re so awesome in your masculinity as to cause dedicated players to switch teams so to speak, or that your feminine side is so powerful as to negate the presence of the appendage, but…Navy and Mensa, so…

    “shoot the shit”
That makes a terrible target. It splatters and gets stinky.

Now I’ll wait for some brain to crack wise about targeting some politician or persons from a sunnier clime. We should take one lesson from the Democrats, especially Hubert Horatio Humphrey, people like a Happy Warriors.

truisms, stereotypes and the like exist because the correspond to real-world Types. Such, at any rate, had been my personal experience. Some years ago I met an attractive young Black femme who became aggressively friendly and gave me her phone number. A few days later, I called her. Her mother answered the phone and, via my accent, could tell I was White. She said the following words:

“my dawta don’t date no White boyzzz. If I see you, I shoot you”

one experience among many that has inclined me toward Race-Realism

    • May 11, 2015 at 2:59 am

Serious truth. “Black POTUS gawna bring us awe tugethuh.” My ass. The late 60’s/early 70’s were nowhere near the shit we see today. Why? Why?

      • May 11, 2015 at 3:30 am

Why? Social control as a means of personal aggrandizement. All psychopaths create divisions and favor one side while penalizing the other side, keeping most of the loot for themselves. Eventually, both the psychopath’s supporters and his opponents suffer enormous moral, social, and economic damage. This pattern is well established: Napoleon, Lenin/Kaiser Bill, Stalin/Hitler/Tojo. So far the psychopaths have always lost after doing major damage, but do not allow the Ayatollahs obtain nuclear weapons.

It find it utterly fascinating, as frightful as it is, to see our own home-grown psychopath follow historical patterns to arrive at the point where Hitler was in about 1938. But Obama is no Hitler and America has a much stronger social and economic base than Germany had. Perhaps we can muddle through this without another World War.

Sociopaths are slightly different from psychopaths. They manipulate others for self-aggrandizement,. Most such see themselves as having a “superior consciousness”, and/or having been “chosen” by something (God, a “higher morality”, or the “inevitable tides of history”) to lead society to some Utopia or other.

Yes, a lot of politicians are sociopaths. So for that matter are a lot of people with Ph.Ds who fancy themselves as “champions of (fill in the blank)”- “social justice”, “multicultural sensitivity”, “Holy Mother Gaia”, etc.

The idiot trifecta of James Ramsay MacDonald, Stanley Baldwin, and Neville Chamberlain in Britain between the wars was a nearly perfect example. Irrespective of their avowed party affiliations (M- Labour, B & C- Conservative), all three shared a “vision” of Britain as a “thought leader” in pacifism, unilateral disarmament, and “building a more just society”, which was NewSpeak for “leveling” in the socialist sense. (In fact, Eric A. Blair aka George Orwell got the idea of NewSpeak in 1984 largely from those three.) They were also “anticolonialists” who sought to do away with what was left of the Empire. (Attlee of “Operation Scuttle” fame was one of their proteges’.)

In some other time and place, they would have been relatively harmless- say, Rome during the First Century A.D., or even England a century earlier during the age of Metternich on the Continent. Where and when they were, they were a disaster, both domestically and in terms of foreign policy.

Our present leadership in Washington, in both parties, is nearly indistinguishable from this lot. And this is another time in history when the potential for widespread destruction as a result, both at home and abroad, is entirely too great.

        cheers

Yes, a lot of politicians are sociopaths.

They’re called “progressives”. That’s the fundamental characteristic of “progressives: “to lead society to … Utopia”.

Sorry, folks, but the only perfect place I’m looking for isn’t on this Earth.

      • May 11, 2015 at 11:19 am

There are several definitions of sociopath but you have provided one that is new to me. In fact, both psychopathy and sociopathy are measured by Dr. Robert Hare’s Psychopathy Check List – Revised.

Sociopathy is more commonly thought of as socially induced psychopathy, like the Mafia or the Democratic Party machine that ruins all our big cities.

In my understanding, your first paragraph describes psychopathy extremely well.

Gay men folk are mostly assholes?
This is why I discriminate between “gay”, and merely homosexual.
    lesbians are surly and unattractive?
I’ll bemoan meeting some real life, SMOKIN’ hot, “lipstick lesbians”, outside of the “That one time in college…” folk.

Years ago, my youngest sister had to go to Vegas to get a new company store ready to open. Dad hit the roof when he found out she was going with a male coworker. Dad came off the roof when he saw the coworker.
Long hair, leopard print shirt, fuschia jeans, red cowboy boots with silver stitching and princess pink nail polish. A week later they were back. The store successfully opened. Dad didn’t say anything about her traveling for work after that since the dressers in the industry at that time were mostly gay.

There are a lot of 900 pound entities in the room that are not to be talked about.
Just now, how widespread is the news of the recent violence in Baltimore?
No cops involved, so the deaths aren’t newsworthy. Especially not since the cops are still avoiding confrontations.
Congratulations, libs, you’ve got what you want. Less police protection.

Mokita raises some good points. And he doesn’t even mention Lincoln or the South! 😉 Jews don’t run _all_ the media – Murdoch isn’t Jewish, is he? – but they are over-represented in that and many other fields. Why? Two reasons: up until the 1950s or 60s at least, there was enough overt bias in the WASP world to encourage Jews to go elsewhere for a career, and also a thousand years of discrimination in Europe forced Ashkenazim into finance and trade; fields that reward superior intellect. That was enough genetic selection pressure to result in Ashkenazim scoring about 10 points higher on IQ scales, average.

And no, Lincoln wasn’t gay or Jewish.
