Chris,I’m glad you brought up this subject. You would think that there might be some ‘common sense ‘component to the jihadi aggressors.I would think twice before attacking some random American, knowing that over half of us is armed ( and pissed off already). It truly is a suicide pact on American soil, unlike some third world country.

Notice they didn’t get far from their car? Definitely looks as if SWAT had more than license plate numbers.

Message from ISIS: we’re ready to die
message from LEO: we’re ready to do our part

In Tom Clancy’s “Teeth of the Tiger” terrorist teams are smuggled in from Mexico to make coordinated strikes against soft targets like shopping malls. They coordinated their actions via email. The 71 Jihadis (down to 61 now?) could easily try a similar strike. Disperse 4-6 man teams to a dozen or more targets, tweet #Allahru Akbaar and start shooting. How long would it take for First responders to arrive, and how many civilians would go down in the meantime?

It literally depends on what we used to call “location, location, location” in determining what was important in opening up a business.

Terrorists go for “soft” targets where they can count on publicity; the higher the body count, the better. “Gun free zones” make schools, etc., a terrorist smorgasbord; All You Can Kill For Free.

A shopping mall in a blue state equals a target-rich environment for terrorists; in Clancy’s novel only his SpecOps heroes who happened to be there, and the mall security personnel, were armed.

In a CCW red state mall that was not posted “no weapons”, there’s a very good chance that the terrorists would not survive long enough to do more than fire one magazine-full from their weapons.

To those who say, “terrorists are trained killers and armed civilians are no match for them” (as typical anti-2Am types respond by knee-jerk reflex) I reply, “considering how poorly trained most MidEast Islamic armies are, the average terrorist is probably less familiar with the effective use of a firearm than the average American police officer”. (And having trained LEO, I can attest to the fact that a lot of them even today just aren’t very good shots.)

Islamic military personnel in Iraq were trained in proper small arms procedures by U. S. forces before the pullout. As soon as our forces left, they reverted to the “spray and pray, empty the AK magazine from the hip” procedures that lost them both Gulf Wars. Why? “If Allah wills, it will hit.” Islamic terrorists behave the same way for the same reason. (It’s a cultural thing, based on fatalism, by all indications.)

Assuming that there are three or more CCW holders who have completed state-certified training within effective pistol range when the balloon goes up, I would suspect the situation would be “rapidly deconflicted” as they say at the Pentagon these days.

(Military briefing officers who sound like the sort of motivational speaker Dilbert’s dome-headed uberboss might bring in are one of my pet peeves, but that’s another story.)

        cheers

Even if the mall was (as opposed to “was not”) posted “no weapons”, there would be enough CCW carriers around to quickly dispatch any terrorists. These postings are NOT law, they are simply management regulations and “suggestions”. I always ignore them whenever I go out and about to the mall or theater.

Depends on jurisdiction. Here in OH, it’s a state law, and you can be arrested for ignoring the little white sign showing a black 1911 with the red-circle-cross-stroke “no” icon superimposed over it.

All government offices are “no carry areas”, and any business can be if they so desire. And of course we have “gun free zones” around schools, which leads to interesting issues with someone living across the street from the school entrance who has Grand-Dad’s .30-30 deer rifle in the attic.

In this semi-rural area, it’s generally ignored except when some “immigrant” from Columbus (moving here to get away from high crime rates and higher taxes in the Democrat-run state capital) gets agitated about their neighbor (born and raised here) not being a “blue” type.

Next thing you know, they’re harassing the local PD 24/7, demanding that the local PD “do something about the dangerous nut next door to Enlightened Me”.

BTW, said immigrants live here so they can commute to Columbus to work. You may draw any parallels to NYC, DC, etc. that you wish.

        cheers

        Sign? What sign?
I don’t live in an area where those signs are placed very often, and just happen not to notice most of them unless there’s a metal-detector to back them up…
This is also not an area that would begrudge a CCW (called Concealed Handgun Permit or CHP here) for using his weapon, even behind those signs, to lawfully defend himself or another person.
I don’t vacation in those areas, or in states that don’t honor my CHP, either…

In Texas it’s a state law too, but the law requires “effective notice.” A circle/slash sign behind a bush around the corner doesn’t count. Instead the sign has to have wording specified under Section 30.06 (heh) of the Penal Code, in English and Spanish, in block letters of contrasting color to the background at least 1″ high, and it has to be “displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.” It makes for a large and ugly sign, deliberately so in order to deter businesses from posting.

Though they can also notify you verbally that concealed carry is not allowed on the premises, or hand you a document bearing the same wording required for the sign.

71 idiots waiting in the wings, ready to spring to their deaths and that of anyone else, all for the promise of 72 virgins waiting in paradise and not by a dashboard light.

What are the odds in the 71 surviving if they were tossed in a cage match against some pissed off lesbians? On Pay-Per-View no less…

The biggest problem I see is that no matter how many of us are ready to respond to any attack, we are all in the position of responding after the fact….instead of preventing damage we will merely limit it, and in so doing grant the wishes of the enemy jihadists to die anyway….if we had a president worth a damn he would have already understood that if we do not stop them over there, we will be having to stop them here….the Muslim in Chief has prepared the way….

Story filed by CNN Pentagon desk – one of the folks Elton Simpson (Garland SWAT target) was tweeting with was Junaid Hussain and JH has also tweeted the name and address of one of the U.S. officers involved in training Syrian Rebels.

I was a bit confusticated there. The first word bubble implies the driver is talking, i.e. Sam, since the response from the right side of the car is Zed talking to Sam. But the second picture shows Zed is driving.

No, Sam is driving with her seat pulled forward. Zed is on the pax side, with his seat pushed back for leg room. Look carefully and you can see Sam’s arms are extended to hold the wheel.
Zed is wearing a black shirt and Sam is wearing(…?????) Her wedding ring!

You know, the events in Garland, TX sound like a scripted Day By Day cartoon. Mr. Muir could draw it and it would fit in perfectly… except that it actually happened. Amazing.

Just 71? Pfft. Run a few bait operations and pick ’em off when they come sniffin’ around, send ’em straight into the arms of the devil who greets them with “what, you really expected virgins? useful but simple idiots!”.

But it’s an ISIS trick; it’s more like 71,000 living comfortably among us, waiting for the call. The muz manager of the c-store next to my pawn and gun shop was gregarious and overly friendly, but my pawndar told me that bitch could offer me a free beer after work and then blow me, himself, and that 12-pump gasoline bomb we were standing on straight to kingdom come (heh) when he got the word.

It’s not the couple dozen nut-ball homegrown suicide jihadis they are alerting us to (useful idiots, remember?), but the thousands upon thousands who have infiltrated, made comfortable lives, even made lots of American friends, that we should be concerned with…not that concern will save us at this point; when the call goes out to the faithful that it’s final jihad time, many thousands living and working right next to you will answer. How’s SWAT (or your own AR) gonna help you then?

The question is, is this the grand plan? Who or what are the real planners, and who within our own gov are providing aid and comfort? And is it too late to remove them and save ourselves? We’re behind the Magic 8-Ball, and all signs point to “yes”.

I just had a thought: how do you know the c-store guy’s a Muslim? If he wears a turban, he’s almost certainly a Sikh – a member of a religious group that dates back to the 15th century and is centered in the Punjab region of India. The Mughals and the Afghans tried to stamp them out, but failed; Sikh soldiers served with distinction in the British army and have been praised by people like Winston Churchill for their valor and bravery. Anyway, their religion requires them to leave their hair uncut and to bind it up in a turban called a dastar. (They are also required to carry daggers, but I understand that most Sikhs in the U.S. compromise by wearing little dagger-shaped keychains.)

What sucks is that a lot of Sikhs have been mistaken for Muslims because of their dastars, even though most Muslims living in the West don’t wear turbans. Balbir Singh Sodhi, a Sikh gas station owner, was shot for being a “turban-head” just four days after the 9/11 attacks. It’s great that you’re vigilant, JTC -we should all be – but just make sure your vigilance isn’t directed at the wrong people.

Trained terrorists will go for soft targets, in areas where carry is prohibited of extremely limited.
They will be able to kill large numbers of people, with no notice from the LSM that only easy places are targeted.
The last thing they, or San Fran Nan and her allies here, want is citizens stopping a major event that the LSM cannot ignore.

For years I’ve been expecting attacks on massively soft targets such as the food court in a major mall. I’ve read that a man can remain conscious and functional a full 30-45 seconds AFTER their heart has stopped. How much additional mayhem could a couple of guys with fully automatic AKs wreak in such a setting? A couple or three such attacks and malls would be ghost towns and the sheeple would be huddling in terror in their homes.

      What do you guys think?

“I’ve read that a man can remain conscious and functional a full 30-45 seconds AFTER their heart has stopped. ”

True. The blood in the brain carries enough O2 to maintain consciousness for about a minute. (Criminalist w/forensic pathology training speaking, BTW.)

However, a decisive hit to the brain ends the engagement. The body can’t act if there’s nothing left to issue orders.

BTW, if a hostage taker sticks a gun in someone’s ear and demands you drop yours or he’ll kill them- the cranio-ocular shot theoretically renders their threat null and void for the above-stated reason.

Has anyone heard of Exec Order 9066? It’s the one that FDR (spit) issued to round up the Japanese in ’42. My fear is that all the empty but waiting FEMA camps won’t be for the muzzloids but for the III percenters that would oppose them.

These animals are perfectly willing to break their own religious rules whenever it suits them. Why do you think the 9/11 attackers spent their last night on Earth drinking at a strip club? Anyway, there’s a hadith (Muslim teaching not found in the Quran) about martyrs not needing to be washed or prayed over before burial, so presumably the “pure” act of dying for Islam cancels out being buried with “impure” pork. They thought of everything, didn’t they?
