Oh ok, when they got it they said 2008 Caddy so just assumed a hand me down of the big barge.

Still, in the interest of the accuracy for which the strip and the anal-retentive commenters (who me?) are known, the ‘08 srx was still a shrunk version of the Escalade shoebox design then got the butt-tuck crossover treatment depicted here in 2010.

        Yeah, anal, sorry.

Well Ruger et al have included dopey cable locks with handguns since the 80’s and they were legislated in I think ‘05, with zillions handed out gratis by NSSF. I always included one as a CYA measure, knowing 90% would stay in the box with the booklet forever.

Since this is a new push, in spite of their language and definitions being clear as mud as usual, I assume they want a locked enclosure, the better to prevent ready emergency access when their thugs or their fibbers (redundant) breach your door. Good luck with that.

But I disagree with the writer that ‘22 will be a big push year for 2A attacks, few things could guarantee mid-term Dim losses in red states quicker than that. Make no mistake though, they will come knocking virtually or otherwise, once they secure their false majority.

All those Multiple thousands-millions of people that quickly bought guns in the last couple of Chinese Crud years. Because they were frightened of the murder/rape/assault/theft/home invasion/etc lack of protection, are now going to be locked out of quickly being able to defend themselves. Defense is useless it is instantly available. Wonder if they make a lock-cable long enough to go down my old shotgun barrel?

Just says the dealer has to carry them. Doesn’t say the buyer has to use them. In fact, this requirement has been in place for 20 years. This one just has subtle refinements, like, you can’t carry only handgun lockboxes if you sell rifles too.

      • January 5, 2022 at 4:13 pm

Not really no…never make the mistake of underestimating their evil true intent…nothing subtle about the grabbers other than to intentionally obfuscate that true intent, the difference from the ’05 law I mentioned above (17 years not 20), is that the old law required *supplying* a “locking device” with each gun sold by a dealer and this one is to make locking enclosures, such as cases, safes, etc *available* at the dealer, prelude to requirements when they have less political risk; devil is always in the devil’s details.

does this mean they can start charging carjackers and gangbangers with unsafe storage ?

There used to be a minimum sentence up here for using a firearm in the commission of an offence…the liebrals just removed it because it was ‘racist’.

Just to note that we’re fast approaching the 2nd anniversary of Rush Limbaugh’s passing. Which, almost to the day, was when we were first forced to deal with this insane Twilight Zone World and the rise of the evil Clown Puppets. Coincidence?

Well they always came out of a box, then needed to be cut off the parts tree, flashing sanded smooth and glued together.
