For what it’s worth (heh), at least the ChiComs and McConnell et al have accepted and embraced that most capitalist tenet of all…

    Supply and demand.

Of course the Bitins are about to show them all how that game is played.

I remember everybody bitchin’ about “cheap Chinese junk”.
So look what the Chinese have bought; cheap junk politicians.
Along with all kinds of other anti-American trash people.
Would You pay Bidens the multiple millions that the Chinese did?

Some people may think the USA is worth it, but other places and other times have found those they enslaved were not worth the pain in the azz that resulted.

Can only hope you are right. I personally know too many people that are to busy focusing on getting by day-by-day (sorry for the steal Chris) to worry about what the Washington “masters” are doing tot eh country. Or they’re so self absorbed in their respective social media echo chambers to really get the “big picture” of how the swamp creatures are selling the country to outsiders. Far too many of these people I know are anybody but Trump voters. No concept or care about policy, Trump is a “bully” so they want him out!

Yes sir DH, Ms. Chamberlain’s letter has been linked and discussed here a few times over the past week. It is full of truth and good but it suffers from a lethal flaw, the same flaw that 93% share, namely some reason not to take up arms personally but rather to beseech others (the 3%) to do it for them.

        All of us musk ask ourselves;

        Are you of the 97%
        Or the 3%?

I’m surprised so many people are bent out of shape that Trump is an @$$hole. So? So was the surgeon who operated on my dad and gave him another year of life. The surgeon was sure if his abilities, and didn’t sugarcoat his assessment. He had no bedside manner. But he was accurate and didn’t beat around the bush. Do you want a whiney wimp operating on you, or the @$$hole?

It’s not that long ago that statesmen engaged in fistfights and duels. Now we have “toxic masculinity” and other newspeak nonsense when these reps are so powerless, so useless. They obviously stand for nothing.

Bring back the statesmen willing to literally fight, and possibly get whipped, for what they believe in. Not the sellouts with soft hands and “jerk nails.”

Statesmanship requires honor and a commitment to what’s perceived to be proper.
Politicians are rarely statesmen because their _only_ yardstick is reelection, not truth or even performance. They will sell out anyone at any given time because they rely on an electorate with the memory span of a goose.
One partial solution to this, as I see it, is to force the electorate to actually _know_ who they are voting for by name. That means, at the very least, making it illegal to label party affiliation on a ballot and ban automatic straight ticket voting.
Should we ever see a Federal Election Standards law these would have to be included. Not likely because low information is the bread and butter of Politicians.

Now that is a bad idea. My local government is already full of ‘non partisan’ positions where it is almost impossible to figure out who those folk are and why their vote totals are way less than folk who fly their true colors.

    Eh, Wot?

From “Dixie City Jam” by James Lee Burke, 1994, Hyperion Publishing:

“But the preacher had said something on the dirt road that would not go away, that hung on the edge of my consciousness like an impacted tooth that throbs dully in your sleep.

What if, instead of a particular crime, we were dealing with people, or forces, who wished to engineer a situation that would allow political criminality, despotism masked as law and order, to become a way of life?

Was it that hard to envision? The elements to pull it off seemed readily at hand.

Financial insecurity. Lack of faith in traditional government and institutions. Fear and suspicions of minorities, irritability and guilt at the visibility of the homeless and the mentally ill who wandered the streets of every city in the nation , the brooding angry sense that things were pulling apart at the center, that armed and sadistic gangs could hunt down, rape, brutally beat and kill the innocent at will. Or, more easily put, the general feeling that it was time to create examples, to wink at the Constitution, and perhaps once again decorate the streetlamps and trees with strange fruit.”

      Christmas a humbug?

Didn’t you learn anything from what was essentially the first socialist fairy tale?

But Dickens notwithstanding celebrating Jesus birth (which the movie never mentions of course) is the best way to forget 2020 and offers the best hope for the future whatever it may hold.

So all the BS that has come your way fits right in for this year, but next year will be another story, I promise.

And of course the awesomeness that is planned for Christmas Day goes a long way to getting all of us out here in DBD land off to a great start…not to give too much away but let’s just say we won’t have to open our presents (thank you in advance for that).

So here’s wishing you an awesome Christmas 2020 in spite of it all, and especially an incredible 2021 regardless of it all.

You were in a car-totaling accident a few days ago and did not ask for help or even make it known, I mean that fourth wall is not like an inviolable rule.

But again, thanks for my present, getting all anxious thinking about it like that time I was hoping so hard for the little .22 Marlin that Santa found a way to bring for an only semi-good 9 year old boy. 🙂

      My Way or -->

My computer died on me, too, but it was 18 years old and the hard drive had wanted to retire a long time ago.
I found a store that takes used computers, cleans them “out” (no junk left behind) and installs a whole new system. For a very, very modest cost, I got an affordable upgrade and a good quality replacement.
And all — repeat ALL – of my stuff on my old hard drive was recovered and transferred.
I hope this one lasts at least 15 years, too.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

President Trump is behaving as an American citizen and President would and should in vetoing the pork filled bill with only veritable nothing for Americans.
Political crime has been ramping up.
Control of the center to control all else has been developed. That is a Progressive tactic. As are many tactics in place. Almost all of the government workers in some jurisdictions are acting for the enemies of America. We have to pay their salaries, that are bloated compared to the Americans. For most all of many their allegiance and loyalty is not to America and not to the US Constitution.
We are able to assist America in winning. I do not know what particular acts, but use the skills and knowledge that you have. Keep calm and win. Follow the lead of knowledgeable patriots.
The complexity and power of lobbyists enables buying favors and winning cash to be possible in these bills.
This is still war, as many have pointed out. Be wise in actig or not acting to defeat this asymmetric war against us.

As to the 1, 2, 3 hits to the creative wisely analytical artist personality and consciousness in charge of this space, he is still here. That is very good.
