Was it the 1924 Democrat Convention where they all wore robes and hoods? Somewhere in that time frame…

The 1924 Democrat Convention at Madison Square Garden in New York is known as the Klanbake. However only about half of the delegates were members of the KKK.

        https://thefederalistpapers.org/us/the-1924-klanbake-dem-convention-sheds-light-on-democratic-party-history

There is not truth to the rumor that Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) attended the Klanbake as he was only seven at the time, and did not join the KKK until 1940.

The Klan returned to prominence around 1916 with Birth of a Nation with tacit approval of Woodrow Wilson. They had been outlawed with Grant’s KKK Act of around 1870. By 1924 the Klan numbered about 4 million Dems in a nation of abt 110 million!! Today with 340 million they are only about 5000. Now to the real racists, ANTIFA, how many of THEM today ???!!!

DJT is totally acquitted on both charges. Nodular and Schiff-head are sulking off to their hidey holes to choke their mules. San Fran Nan is searching for a habanero enema to cleanse her psyche. Biden et all are packing their bug out bags in preparation of the upcoming Barr and Dunham reports. Mitt Romney is searching for his spine. The Constitution works. We are safe…..for now.

Night-Gaunt49, everything you just said is completely wrong. There was no “Southern Switch”, no mass migration of racists and KKK’ers from the Democrat party to the Republicans… all of that is a myth. What *really* happened is that the racist Left got better at hiding what they really believed behind impenetrable layers of polysyllabic pseudointellectual sophistry, and at putting up a false front of morally-outraged posturing whenever anyone tries to call them out on their B.S. But at their core, the Democrats are the same as they ever were; they still believe that “coloreds” are inherently-inferior beings who can’t cope with the demands of Civilization without the constant guidance and protection of their Leftist “betters” who know what’s best for them.

They used to call it the “white man’s burden.” Now it’s “Progressive Man’s burden.” Nothing else has changed.

You really are out of your league here at the grownups’ table, child.

Nancy the Communist got it stuck up her ass at the impeachment trial. As well as the Demoncrat party. The SOTU was fantastic and I hope nailed the Demoncrats to the wall. They hate it that President Trump is trying his best to keep his campaign promises. Just pisses them off to the max and I love it. They never did.

Rep. Gaetz is filing an ethics complaint against her in the House, with a recommendation that the matter then be referred to DoJ for criminal investigation. Since that is unlikely to go anywhere unless her party decides to throw her under the bus, perhaps you should file a complaint yourself with the relevant authorities?

The New Klux Klan styles itself Antifa, and has swapped white robes and hoods for black hoodies and masks. But it’s just a continuation of the action arm of the democrat party. With no major democrat denouncing their violence, and democrat run cities let them run riot. (Although NYC did lock up a couple last week. They were interfering with the commute.)

So many dems swearing off the democrat party now, saying their party has been taken over by communists, and they will never vote democrat again. Many now declaring themselves to be independents, point their funger at the final straw, being the unamerican behavior of elected dems during the sotu message. They showed their true attitude toward the people of the USA.

Democrats are reverting to type – founding a neo- Confederacy. California is the new South Carolina. Add, Oregon, Washington state and Hawaii to complete the set. New York state and the New England states are the new border states like Delaware. Missouri, Kentucky and Maryland were.
The old confederacy possessed a small extremely wealthy class, a tiny middle class, slaves and large numbers of whites and free blacks in poverty. The cotton plantation owners and factors such as Lehman Brothers, who traded in cotton, made up the wealthy class. The small middle class included doctors, lawyers, larger shop owners and few others that catered to the wealthy. Slave labor depressed the wages of most others. Now, wealthy donors understand that hiring cheap labor is more cost effective than enslaving a person. Slaves tend to work only enough to keep from being punished and the slaver must care for them.
California’s wealthy class are mostly those in IT, show business and a few industries. Lawyers and doctors, who cater to the aforementioned, form the upper middle class. The wealthy use imported labor to depress IT wages at one end and unskilled labor to keep their mansions with well manicured lawns and spic and span – mimicking slavery of old. Use of such depresses the wages of a dwindling middle class. Add, rising taxes and either those in the middle class become poor or leave the state. California has 12 percent of the nation’s population. But, one-third of the homeless and one-third of those on welfare.

All accurate, except for the reversal of the true roles in your parallel.

Everything attempted now by the left mirrors the evil lying conniving methods of the First Rino as he plotted to deny the separatists who themselves mirrored the demands and desires of the first Revolutionists.

So many decades of misinformation and revised history have had their effect, imbuing so many with the lies, but a simple listed comparison of the socialist methods employed then aligns jarringly with what the new socialists are doing now that even their partisans can see the obvious parallels. Further at another time.

I’ve read six of the state proclamations describing the reasons for sessesion. Five of six give only slavery as the reason. Texas gave slavery, plus failure of the federal government to protect Texas’ borders — from banditte across the Rio Grande, renegades from Oklahoma and marauders from Missouri. The Civil War, on the other hand, was because the Union Army cross the state borders in force.

      • February 6, 2020 at 1:13 pm

Yes, but secession was the only means to throw off central control of the rights of states and regions to self-determination just like with Britain and the colonies. Slavery was included and was the greatest flashpoint but was by no means the only or even primary issue of local control and was already in the process of being ended for both moral and profit reasons by mechanization when it was seized on as the rallying cry for the contiental army…I mean the union army.

It was interesting to hear Van Jones talking after SOTU, The gist of what he was saying was, my paraphrase; Trump has done so much for the country that we have to figure out what we can say to make the people believe we will do it better.
Now he’s a bright guy, but he can’t even see what the problem is! They just want to bamboozle the people, but PDJT actually produced results! After seeing that results are actually possible I think that their promises are going to be seen for the nothingness they have always been. They even promised doom and gloom with this president and that’s an obvious lie seen by all with any grounding in reality.

And so it is when freedom and conservatism have their chance to prove themselves, no longer outbid by government payoffs to keep the proles in line and the elites on the throne. No need anymore to preach it when even the blind can see it before their eyes…
