The Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. It’s the Men’s Department.
They’re just the Navy’s Army. Wait til you see the Navy’s air force.
What does the Navy have in its aviation inventory that the Marine Corps does not?

EA-18G, E-2C & E-2D, P-8A, P-3C, EP-3E, E-6B, C-2A, differences in training aircraft, UAVs, etc. … But lets not be picky, if you are the admiral aboard a carrier operating anywhere in the Western Pacific you are probably happy to have as many aviation assets as you can operate from your ship(s) and/or have deployed from any in-range friendly base, especially if you are ordered to do something that might cause the PRC to send its aviation assets out to play!
Marines are just Seabees on light duty.
Best way to solve that is like Elon and the appropriately named Suckerberg have agreed to do…
No training for our Devil Dog and Sea Bee (good thing they’re not going on the toughest nickname), they come to the ring straight out of camp. No holds barred as it were.
Where’s is your money?
What happened to the EA-6B?
Did the Navy get rid of it?
Suiure. For the sake of Marine One, and my squid brothers-in-arms, I’ll say Go Navy!
But otherwise, at game time, it’s GABN!
(Go Army Beat Navy),
And who doesn’t like a free helicopter ride?
You don’t, if you are pushed out mid-ocean…
No need to go out that far. A quick trip to the Gulf Stream and that is all she wrote.
Drop the ramp, pitch up five or six units of alpha, release the roller locks.
Just remember that it’s only Marine One when it’s actually transporting the President; otherwise it reverts back to its original callsign, one of the 300 or so helicopters that are used for presidential transport. Similarly, the two 747s tricked out to carry the President are ‘SAM 28000’ and ‘SAM 29000’ when not being used by the President. So it would only be Marine One on the outboard leg of its flight; after the cargo dump, it becomes just another Marine aircraft.
I wonder, how high, and how many times, Triggly Puff would bounce from a 100 foot helo drop?
Shall we start a pool on it?
I’m not cleaning up that mess!
no bounce, just a satisfying SPLAT!
Why only 100 feet? UH-60’s are certified to well over 10,000 feet!
Give ’em time to think about their malfeasance on the way down! (and also assure terminal velocity at time of impact)
Why waste the fuel climbing that high?
One hundred feet should do.
Ok, ok, go up to 200-250 feet.
(sigh….the compromises I make to keep people happy….)
Navy is the new grandchild.
How poetic if she could be involved in their demise in the blue-water ocean, speed along the inheritance of those millions in ill-gotten gains.
1000 feet would be better… They can kiss their ass goodbye!
Thousands of “revolutionaries” were flown to France from Algeria in the 1960s uprising. Very few arrived in Paris. This from the commanding general at the time in his later years.
It’s been done.
Fish gotta eat, too
Aerolineas Pinochet in Chile.
That’s what I remember.
Marine One, that’s the machine with a bicycle rack under its tail rotor and a sling harness for geriatric cargo.
Yet, Argentina might as well have a communist government.
I’ve heard from horses mouths that Argentina has more than its share of corruption problems and culture decay… Not sure I’d ever want to live there.
That pretty much describes every nation-state south of the Rio Grande. And most of them are either “socialist” or openly Communist.
If not for the businessmen they openly despise, like Don Portago, their economies would have self-destructed decades ago. Venezuela being the case in point.
See Guide to the Perfect Latin American Idiot by Carlos Alberto Montaner, Plinio Apuleyo Mendoza, and Álvaro Vargas Llosa.
The “idiot” is the typical Latin American “Maximum Leader” type.
Wow Chris. Subtle yet sharp as a knife. That reference to Navy. (the granddaughter).
Coast Guard One has a fella who fly’s on it regular, needs to go out over the ocean.
USCG was better off under Dept. of Treasury.
Bring back General Pinochet’s Chilean sea flight helicopter rides …
Not being picky, but I’m saying that the callsign Marine One would be unnecessary, Based on the assumption that a new President would already have been sworn in.
Not to mansplain, Sam, but they call it Marine One for a reason. Marine? Two jarheads standing at the hatch? Two at the controls? Marine One. Marine.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the helicopter is attached to HMX-1, which means Marine Helicopter Squadron One.
Suid Afrika is offering free chopper rides to any and all whiteys, infants including Baby Navy.
Nah, too time-consuming; they’ll just dig a pit and dump them in.
You would think Elon might have something to say about that.
Musk: “They Are Openly Pushing for Genocide of White People in South Africa”
Saw on the internet, so it must be true, that the crayon eaters are now nothing but jacked-up coastal watchers. From some ex-marine blog.
What a shame.
There are many Devil Dogs still among them, straining to get free.
We should give them that opportunity as they lead the forces of the CRA.
The shithole countries, much like the sandbox, should be dealt with from air and sea. (Sorry residual white folks there but you know it’s true). Get those Marines on some boats!
I thnk that was actually Auguste Pinochet in Chile. I actually worked with some Chilean Military members that came up through the Pinochet regime and they were very serious competent people.
Might be time to upgrade ‘Marine One’ to a Chinook…save gas with fewer trips..they can say it’s ‘going green’
Navy and Marines have retired all of their Phrogs (CH-46) (smaller Vertol twin rotor helicopter) in favor of the MV-22 and CMV-22. (MV-22 violates the naming standards. Should be CV or UV, with the Air Force Special Operations aircraft being the MV-22 /pedant).
Ukraine says ‘Hold my Bud Lite’ … Transsexual to lead propaganda for Ukrainian army.
Meanwhile back at the swamp…
Prepping for Mike to make its move…
There are videos of the now deceased former President of South Africa Nelson Mandala on stage at rallies singing along to the Kill the Boer song and ding slight dancing. His wife Winnie also felt the same way. Winnie Mandala use the flaming necklace to torture and kill he enemies. That is a person encased in the center of rires, gasoline being added. Then setting them afire and sometimes rolling them down the street, hill or wherever.
One documentary showed where several people who raided the farm raped and killed the farmers and then boiled at least one 10 year old farmer Afrikaner boy to death i a bathtub.
Pleasant chaps. I thin these might have been some of the blacks, some Bantu, who entered from areas other than South Africa to double the area’s population after the world forced the to give up.
The worst of discrimination now faces any white South Africans who couldn’t or did not get out.
I have had family across the services. Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines (A CB Lt Col in Vietnam). And an ancestor who taught and showed Wilbur and Orville how to make an air cooled engine light enough to get that plane in the air.
It takes lots of individuals doing something to get things done. We are not alone.
How many have died because of the invasion supporting border poicies and actions.
My alma mater has some of footballs greatest games winning against and losing to our service academies. May what our culture is and the good of what was persevere through these trying times
The EA-6B “Prowler” went away when the EF-18G “Growler” came on line. Two guys doing the work of four and it can keep up with the F’n A-18 strike package.
