I assume that Zed either has carefully disguised range stakes, or well surveyed marks scattered strategically around the approaches and around the homestead. And each window has a range card next to it.

He is working on “Father”. Lovely Sam has been demoted.

Mine heard noise, or the lack there of, from the boys. We did compromise with a gown on the door for when she went all “Mother”.

The French revolution was stared over the royalty. They murdered them all. Then after doing so, they got this itch to keep murdering until another war started and Napoleon the I was crowned the new emperor.

The French revolution one the war and lost the peace.

Revolutions are a raging beast without a head.
Maximilien Robespierre wound up under Madam Guillotine’s care and merely let loose a series of bloody tyrannies to follow.
I suppose I’m at odds with many here, but I have more faith in the Framer’s Good Works. We’ll pull through this intact, but the real question is will we learn from this chaos and put the “Progressives” back into their cage by reasserting individual rights and the Rule of Law, or let them try again?
We’ve discovered something that did not commonly exist in the late 18th Century; that morality needs reinforcement through personal hardship.
We have become the victims of our own success.

        Amen.
This is why I was and always was a Federalist, and Jefferson was and remains my least favourite of the Founders.
We had a very conservative “revolution” here in these united states, and THEREFORE we didn’t fit the Revolutionary mould that fans of the French and Commie varieties (Vladimir Putin included) glorify. Given a choice between the French variety and a shambolic corrupt governemnt that’s overspending, well, to quote Prinz von Metternich, “Orthodoxy, conservatism, and reaction.”
I’m with Burke and Salvador Dali on this.

@interventor, two of ’em, one successful one not, but very valuable lessons about means and methods from both.

John mentions that personal morality needs reinforcement through personal hardship…I would turn that around, that freedom of and from government needs reinforcement by more severe means which may result in personal hardship and a renewed morality, for those that survive.

Wow, so many of my favorite things. 🙂

First outing to shoot yesterday, .22’s @ 200yd, new optic on a new Base, ran out of elevation but had much fun anyway. Swapped optic for next go round, should have enough. 😉

There’s just something satisfying about hitting a 4” swinger with 6cent ammo a pair of football fields away. Plenty of misses but not by enough to matter. Even a few intended hits on 2” and 1.75” spinners. Wind is very cruel 😉

On the bright side, one of the bought and paid for MP’s resigned from the liebral party, purely to try and deflect blame from sockboy, guaranteed he’ll still vote lockstep with them as an ‘independent’.

    The Texas Way, you mean.

I grew up here but didn’t realize how great it was until I spent several years in California and Wyoming. It was a real learning experience.

I also provided the art for the graphic novel, _Roswell, Texas_, which was written by my friend, the late, great L. Neil Smith.

    I’m a Texas nationalist now.

They were Indian bikes, based on the real-world 1948 Indian.
Of course, in this story, the company was owned by bona-fide Indians, and based in Texas.

(Davey Crockett also made sure that Mirabeau Lamar, who hated Indians, never got elected Texas President.)
