The left’s ignorance of history is showing. A certain Idaho cowpuncher named Elmer Keith could have told them the likely result of trying to “hoo-raw” a Western town if they’d bothered to look it up.

What happened there June 2 might explain why there have been no further “visits” by Antifa and BLM outside of their deep-blue “comfort zone”.

No doubt the word was passed quickly to their various satraps that outside of the blue archipelago, they could not count on the protection of the local government to shield them from defensive action by their intended victims.

Scavengers do not seek engagement with predators. They prefer easier, more defenseless prey.

The story shows the value of good intel.
There are lots of potential volunteers and lots of former military to organize them. Both can act in a heartbeat if only someone had a clue as to what was coming down the pike.

A question for my American brothers & sisters…

As a Canadian, our traditions are a bit more linked to those of the UK than the USA, from our parliamentary government system etc… Mind you, we’ve been inundated with American culture since media went mainstream so that influences us as well.

Does the concept of taking a knee to a Canadian (or a Brit) have a different meaning than it does to Americans?

When Kaepernick started his protest, I found it confusing rather than outrageous. From my perspective, genuflection isn’t done in protest. As that behaviour started spreading, I grew to believe it is meant to signify refusal to comply with an expectation… a form of civil disobedience.

As for washing feet, how odd for these wanna-be Marxists to embrace Biblical symbology…

      WayneM,

You’ve got it right. Antifa, BLM, and Progtard DildoCrats in general, aka “The Godless,” think they are gods and everyone should submit.

I’m with Mike-SMO. Outside of worshiping the Lord, the prone and kneeling positions are best used to increase the accuracy of long-range shots.

To Americans, kneeling anywhere but in church before an altar is a sign of submission.

You may not know that in most older cultures, kneeling before someone who deemed themselves superior was a symbolic willingness to die- by beheading. It said “My life is yours to take if it pleases you to do so…Master.”

The Asian/”Oriental” bow has the same symbology. Note that in ancient China, failing to bow fast enough or deeply enough as someone of higher status passed by was considered grounds for their guards to kill you on the spot. And often they did just that.

Remember that in the English and European ceremony of conferring knighthood, the monarch touches the newly-ennobled one on each shoulder and the top of the head with a sword or sceptre. The symbolism of the sword is obvious; the symbolism of the sceptre is that it represents a mace. Both state that (1) the knight is entering upon a life which may demand that blows be given or taken, and (2) that his (or now her) life now belongs to the monarch.

So, we Americans, who do not have orders of knighthood (we got rid of that about 244 years ago) do not view “kneeling” as a good thing to do- except before God.

As for the foot-washing, the reason is simple. Those who now demand it believe that they are gods. Not mere “monarchs”.

I might add that washing the God-King’s feet is a ceremony of submission dating back to ancient Persia. The Greeks’ refusal to do this obeisance to Darius the Great ended with a war that Western progressives still wish the Persians had won.

To see what’s going on in “enlightened” areas today, you’d think they had.

        “As to the foot-washing…”

Correct as to ancient times, a ritual demanded by kings and demigods to prove loyalty and subservience.

Which is directly why in Jesus’ time He turned it upside down; the personification of the real God proving His love for the least among us as equal to any aristocrat or royalty. “In your face Darius et al!”

Well described in the scriptures I mentioned above, and that would be the basis of Mr. Cathey’s act; he is a strong Believer and would know the basis of the ritual both Biblical and prior.

But he ain’t Jesus, and the slaves etc. he ceremoniously elevates sure as hell ain’t the Disciples and wouldn’t know the Book of John if it hit them in the face.

So it is taken by all as surrender, an acquiescence not to equality but to acceptance of a subservient role to be exploited.

But there’s more than one kind of exploitation, both equally blasphemous. The (previously) unwashed will take His love for them as accepting their dominance, and the washers can and in this case I think did, use His example of the equality of God’s creations to avoid the marches coming to him, or another boycott as his faith is used against him in the marketplace.

The foot-washing is viewed by many like myself as pure promotion with a hefty dose of CYA and an eye on the bottom line. Nothing wrong with these elements of capitalism of course, except when it is crassly invoking Jesus teachings to do it. I don”t know if these criteria were the primary ones for Mr. Cathey, but either way it’s some very bad optics, as the Kool Kids in media like to say.

Ironically, none of the above has a damn thing to do with kneeling, except a similarity of motivation to keep the mobs away at the expense of one’s human dignity and an attempt to buy peace at any cost.

I can’t think of kneeling without picturing that giant ‘fro on the sidelines, until that in turn makes me see and hear the one true anthem to kneeling….”Down On Your Knees…And Hear The Angels Voices…” and the Light of God appearing before me and the angels. Now that’s how -and why- you kneel.

So the American tradition on kneeling isn’t far from the Canadian one. Genuflection in fealty is a form of acknowledgement of authority or supplication.

Kaepernick and others are turning traditions upside-down. Kneeling becomes defiance… but then kneeling becomes weaponized with “protestors” demanding submission… and then it gets turned into virtue-signalling…

As with most behaviors it goes to intent. Doesn’t take a genius to know what Karpernick’s were, primarily fame and fortune. Any guess about whether he has sucked more money in the last few years from brands seeking their own fame and fortune for just the price of their corporate souls, than doing the bust-ass hard dangerous dirty work of being a medium grade QB?

      Always follow the money.

Standing strong-side barricade for me, cover and stability. Side-iron or carbine.

That Couer D’Alene event sequence warms my heart something fierce. That’s the best!

AntiFa makes these whiney little claims about coming to rural America to create havoc. By all means, show right up. We have first-rate forensic pathologists out here, and we already drew tags in early March.

The very few occasions in which kneeling is okay in these United States of America …

    – In prayer to God and/or while in Church doing the same.

    – A man proposing marriage to his hopeful future wife

    – Firing one’s firearm from a crouching/kneeling position for cover/concealment

    – Between two consenting adults, man and woman preferably married, in privacy

Not sure why he decided to wash that persons feet. It wasn’t done in the Name of Christ. No amount of water can wash away the poison in a man’s soul.
To cleanse a stained soul requires penance and atonement.
God will let the person know when they are done.

I wonder where these “satrapies” are and what they look like since there is no indication any form of Anti-Fa and BLM especially in such a white city as Coeur D’Alene exist. But it reminds me of the town so well protected no tigers would ever be able to stalk and kill someone. The fact that there were no tigers within 8,000 miles had nothing to do with it.

Kneeling seemed like a safe bet for a non-disruptive form of protest showing that white cops targeting black men for death is wrong could be done. The over reaction to it was most incredible and now Pasternak has been 86’d from Football because of it. But the human mind when set for finding the worst in anything of what is identified as evil will go to great lengths to describe it as something terrible.

Antifa, the Right goes out of their way to damn it while leaving the fascists alone. I do keep going back to that every time I see it happen. Unfailingly.
