Many folks say the Revolution started with the Boston Massacre in 1770 or the “Tea Party” in 1773, but didn’t “go hot” until Lexington and Concord in 1775.

The hate and discontent started boiling up with the Stamp Act in 1765…

    • John M.

…and yes, I realize that whoever said it was talking about the musical group…

      • Old Codger

whoever said it was talking about the musical group…

????? I totally do not get the reference, John. Wanna help an old (and apparently culturally illiterate) man out?

        • Hey OC, the reference is to the 1976 hit song “More than a Feeling” by the group Boston.

          Cheers!

          • Polly Cy

Oh *that* one. Here I was trying to figure out how the song from Godspell fit in. Just in case I felt like dancing. Thanks JTC.

  • Too Tall

    Chris, on of your best.

    Taking it Day by Day.

  • Delilah T.

On March 5, 1770, after months of tensions due to occupation and taxation, Bostonians and Redcoats clashed in the streets of Boston. It ended with five civilians killed by gunfire, Crispus Attucks, Samuel Gray, James Caldwell, Samuel Maverick and Patrick Carr, leading to the rallying of Bostonians against the Crown and the evacuation of troops in Boston. The next encounter did not occur until 1774.

I hope it does not come to this.

    • JTC

“I hope it does not come to this.”

If it does, it won’t be in Boston. Or Lexington or Concord for that matter unless today’s Patriots travel there to engage.

It’s called “the cradle and the grave of liberty” for good reason.

      • JTC

Great song btw…was Marianne Liberty walking and slipping away?

With a band named for it and where that place is now, I tell myself that she was.

How the hell does Chris Muir make these obscure connections and stir these strange feelings in my soul?

  • WayneM

I wonder if the leftist’s passion for eliminating history is to prevent the next generations from realizing those who fought to escape the tyranny of the UK were just normal people… Likewise those who established the Republic and created the Constitution… To be fair, they were exceptional because they rose to the occasion but they weren’t gods.

If the plebs were to learn they had such potential, they might desire liberty.

    • interventor

Same as the Islamists, to attempt to remove all mention of prehistory, that might cause a reversal of belief.

    • Roland Deschain

No one is going to give you the education you need to overthrow them.

  • kadaka

Just saw a jacket that said “Free .22 Savage”. Sounds like it could be a fun loading. When are they going to release it?

    • kadaka

Never mind, Wikipedia finally coughed up the info. Old 1912 loading, now obsolete, still made in Europe as the 5.6x52mmR. Might have heard of it before.

      Fashion is strange.

      • kadaka

Oh wait, found a pic of that rapper’s jacket from Fallon last night, says “Free 21 Savage”, the serifs on the “1” threw me off.

What the heck cartridge is a “21 Savage”? People can be so stupid.

        • JTC

One thug for pushing for the release of another by trying to get their mindless “fans” and other defenders of all that is sick and evil onto the social media bandwagon.

Like many of their ilk they’ll likely learn more about cartridges, calibers, and ballistics a little later.

  • jdow

Consider that a perspective of day by day is rather like the way lobsters are boiled. Each increment of time the heat ratchets up almost unnoticeably until it is too late.

    {o.o}

    • interventor

I drop the critters in a full boil.

      • Old Codger

That’s how I heard it’s done. BTW, according to a biology teacher I know the old saw about boiling a frog is totally wrong. Apparently when the water gets warm enough the frog does feel discomfort and tries to get out. Unfortunately for froggy, the sides of the pot are too high so he boils anyway. I suspect that, eventually, even the most lump-like of the lumpenproletariat will start to realize something is going on. Unfortunately by that point it will be far, FAR too late.

      • JTC

Exactly Chris’ point with his brilliant frog-boiling quote the other day…the prog cooks miscalculated and cranked up the crazy socialist heat way too fast, and the Deplorable frogs jumped; that’s where Trump came from. And these frogs are the deadly kind.

  • bill3542

i give us 5-10 years or maybe sooner if the hard left keeps pushing us… what these stupid idiots don’t realize where the ones with all the guns.
most of them also live in big cities and once TSHF there cozy little world will face reality very quickly.

( civilization is but a thin veneer and your only 3 days away from the hungry and thirsty savage returning. )

    • Wood

They know exactly where the guns are. Their fallacy is that they can eradicate them. Many will capitulate. Many more will not. They know exactly what they’re doing.

As to the 3-say rule, we need to form up against the cities that way the dog in this country. “Embargo on!”

In the mean time it sure is fun to watch them eat their own.

      • interventor

Actually, they don’t! The FBI record to verify whether one may buy a firearm is short lived. A permanent database is illegal. Some cities and states keep such. NRA membership is protected like TS documents.

        • Old Codger

I know that the forms are supposed to be short lived but are you sure that they really are? I think I recall hearing about a “catch-22” on that which meant that while the documents are supposed to be destroyed but the BATFE requires the forms to be retained in case of audit.

As for “[a] permanent database [being] illegal.” I wasn’t aware that the deepstate paid much attention to such niceties – at least insofar as it might apply to their own activities. As the saying goes:
          Who watches the watchers?

          • Doggo

Then you’ve got the states like Illinois and Massachusetts that require Firearms Owner ID cards. Even if they don’t track which guns you own (doubtful) they still have an idea where they are.

        • JTC

NICS records are short-lived because that’s the law? Ha!

          Laws are for the law-abiding.

And 4473’s are a permanent “database”.

          • JTC

Only weapons not traceable to you are the ones obtained from the NPA (National Private Arsenal) aka private transfers.

Think their push for “universal background checks” to control what they call the internet and gun show loopholes has anything at all to do with restricting access for criminals?

That’s bullshit, thugs get their guns by theft and don’t give a shit about no stinkin’ laws…it is YOUR access they want to restrict by applying their background checks aka registration (of course it is) to private transactions that have forever been exempt from it.

Even many who support gun ownership are fooled by this “common sense” provision…hopefully the above truths will
disabuse some them of that quaint notion.

Defend with everything you have the NPR, it is the last and only truly free right to access to the possession of the tools of defense against criminals and totalitarians (redundant).

          • JTC

NPA, heh, how’s that for a bit of Freudianism? I meant NPA of course.

          • JTC

NPR was the Freud dammit! I need a nap. :I

    • WayneM

I doubt most city dwellers last 3 days actually…

  • eon

    Here’s one thing to consider;

Conservative women have babies. Progressive women have abortions.

Do it that way long enough, there will be more conservatives than progressives. The math is not on the side of the “enlightened ones”.

This probably explains why American public schools today are mainly leftist indoctrination factories from kindergarten through college. If they’re not replacing themselves the old-fashioned way, turning everyone else’s kids into the Young Pioneers, Red Guard, or Hitlerjugend will have to do.

In view of the fact that progressive women, even some of the feminist ones, apparently are proud to call themselves “sluts”, this is almost amusing.

    Almost.

    clear ether

    eon

    • GWB

Yes, eon. Progressive children are made, not born.
      (cf: Brave, New World.)

      • Tagg

And therein lies the rub. Its way past time to dismantle American academia and rebuild from scratch disallowing any former indoctrinator from participating.

      • cb

Time for parents/children to look into different approaches? https://www.k12.com/

    • gafling

@eon: As there is much truth in your words, that truth fully explains why the left so desperately wants open borders. To their way of thinking it is far more effective to ‘import’ voters rather than spend years raising and indoctrinating them, especially when faced with the truth of your words. This massive ‘invasion’ of human detritus is their penultimate hope. It is the logical progression in the saying that ‘if one cannot win elections with the existing voting base, change the make-up of the voting base.’ If that faile, the ultimate course of action for the left is to reduce the number of voters who vote against the left.

And that is when things get nasty.

    • JTC

Unfortunately it’s only American babies they want to preemptively kill, while the hordes they invite in are factories for them. They need lots of slaves to maintain the exclusivity of their elitism, and us they just want dead with no troublesome offspring to take up our armed resistance.

    • Old Codger

Conservative women have babies. Progressive women have abortions.

True as stated but you forget that the illegals the left wants streaming in are pretty much all from nations that still have high birthrates. I suspect that fact is a good part of the Dems’ strategy.

      • eon

True, but the progressive Fearless Leader types aren’t joining in the baby boom. And they won’t countenance their new slaves, or their offspring, trying to take over the reins of power, either.

There will be a power vacuum within the left inside of three decades. There just won’t be enough AOCs to go around.

Add in that the imports will, then as now, be more interested in crime, sex, drugs, ultra-violence, and everything else they loved “back home” than politics, and this isn’t likely to work out the way the progressives anticipate.

England, Sweden, France and etc. are good examples of what they’ll get instead, especially if their “imports” include any notable percentage of Islamics. (Which to judge from Minnesota, etc., they definitely do.)

Hungary, Poland, and Switzerland are likely to be the models everyone will resort to in the end. Whether they want to or not.

        clear ether

        eon

        • Kafiroon

And while the imports are interested in their “activities” who is going to keep the trains running on time?
(And electricity, water, trucking, garbage pickup [note democrat cities on that one] etc. etc. etc.)

          • JTC

“…trains running on time? And electricity, water, trucking, garbage pickup…”

No, see the Green New Deal does away with all of that.

        • Delilah T.

          Three decades? Sooner than that.
This froth that supports a braindead bimp like Ojos Locos will go flat soon enough.
She wants to spend tons of money to clean up water because the government doesn’t do anything about it. She has never heard of the Clean Water Act, passed in the 1970’s. She wants to ban all air travel, which got a huge snort of laughter out of the Governor of Hawaii. She is a showcase for ignorance of the real world.
Do not get discouraged when you see people like her or the femmfreaks. They are outnumbered, whether you agree or not.

    • Pamela

I think that should a female go in for her second abortion, she needs to get fixed. She is too stupid and careless to be responsible for a human life. With the amount of available birth control out there, unplanned pregnancies should be minimal.

      • John

The problem here is that the woman has to volunteer for the operation, which is usually free, and still too often won’t show for the appointment.
The Nazis made the sterilization of imbeciles mandatory.
Do we want to take that road?

        • Pamela

Actually Planned Parenthood tells the women and girls to bring anywhere from $300 to $1000 cash depending on how far along they are. It’s a cash cow operation for them. Plus selling the remains for whatever they can get for Lives that are Never More.

No that isn’t a road that needs to be traveled. There is a solution. It requires people to be responsible for their actions and choices. Would the women abort the child if it were the only one they would ever conceive.

        • Merle

wouldn’t that include most of congress??? 🙂

  • Delilah T.

Pro-vaxs 18-year-old defies his anti-vaxx mommy and gets himself vaccinated. Clearheaded and thinks for himself. Polio, measles, whooping cough, diphtheria, – all of those are still around and can be deadly in adults, especially measles.
Gee whiz, next thing you know, he’ll be joining the Marines and voting conservative. But this is partly how a revolution starts.

The denial of reality is strong on the left side of the fence. Ojos Locos wants to get rid of airplanes and cattle, and buy the world a Coke, while her followers are on a hillside singing about keeping the world company. That’s the thought process. Maybe they can inflict perpetual summer on the planet, too.

I hope more young people defy Mommy and get themselves vaccinated. Reality is a harsh mistress.

    • JTC

Not just progs on the anti-vaccine…it was/is a main refrain of the brain surgeon with some agreement by DT, too lazy to find the link, but it’s there.

    • Pamela

I remember standing in line at school to get a sugar cube with the Polio Vaccine in it. We did that for three years. Plus getting the Small Pox Vaccination with it’s fun little scar.

    • John

“Maybe they can inflict perpetual summer on the planet, too.”
Wasn’t the whole point to _prevent_ that?
Oh yeah, that’s right, it was just an excuse to impose the Socialist Utopia. The climate outcome is irrelevant.

  • kadaka

We on the congressional committee got an agreement, no shutdown!

So how much for my beautiful wall?

    $1.375 billion.

But they offered $1.6 billion once before. How will we build the 200+ miles of wall the border professionals wanted?

Um, no wall, you get 55 miles of fencing.

So the agreement essentially is Pelosi only offering what was rejected before?

Yes, but this time there’s bipartisan agreement to let Nancy have her way. Now just sign here…

  • Cliff

Build the wall. The DEmocrat Party has become the enemy.

  • interventor

    My Favorite quote:

“Secrecy is the keystone to all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy and censorship. When any government or church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, “This you may not read, this you must not know,” the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man who has been hoodwinked in this fashion; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, whose mind is free. No, not the rack nor the atomic bomb, not anything. You can’t conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.”

    Some random thoughts on feelings:

My first concert (Rock and Roll) was Boston in ’76. It was great, still have the vinyl, about played the grooves off it.

There is a wind that the boom maybe coming this month. If P-lousy didn’t give the full amount asked for then don’t sign. No cave to the Prog extortionists, declare the National Emergency and build the WALL. (while you’re at it build one around Congress to keep those MoFo’s inside circle jerking themselves to death and leave US the hell alone).

Release the FISA memo, the ground has been prepared. The 63e6 are ready and waiting and it is more than a feeling.

Restore the rule of law, no more cloud people versus dirt people in the eyes of Lady Justice.

Air dried clothes last longer. just an aside.

ANY large demographic that is being used and manipulated will eventually wake up and resist. It may take decades, but it will happen. The black demographic is waking up and it ain’t gonna go back to sleep. The Democrap machine knows this, needs to replace them, and is doing all it can to make Hispanics the replacement. Unfortunately, that’s only the short-term goal of fostering the illegals invasion. Generally speaking, we Americans are not long-range planners, so we don’t tend to look at what long-range goals others have. The puppet-masters yanking the strings on the entire Democrap Party and most of the GOP have nothing but globalism and One-World-Government in mind. Look at the refusal to stop the illegals invasion and pretty much anything the political parties promote that doesn’t seem to make sense in this light and all of a sudden it’s easier to see the sense in it.

    • John

It seems to me the backlash against the Postmodern Intersectionalists may have put the One Worlder’s plans on hold for the time being, but George Orwell’s surveillance state is still on track for implementation when they recover.
With this in mind we must move Heaven and Earth to give as well as we get and put our would-be masters under the microscope of Public Scrutiny. They cannot be allowed to get away with Seeing while not being Seen and Acting with Impunity.

The so-called entertainment industry (Enemedia Inc(D) has descended from “More Than A Feeling” to “Not Even Feeling” so quickly that the true meaning of the word Entertainment is now appreciated by only a fraction of a handful of people on the planet…

  • lexington and concord? try “fort william and mary”

“lexington and concord” was the british efforts to get back the stuff stolen 5 months earlier.

Not where I can post a hotline right now, but if you haven’t already you should read the new republic article “Maria Butina the Russian spy who wasn’t”.
