Christ was indeed a Jew. It does not do to forget that.
He had to be persuaded to extend his favors to we goyim.

I am (literally) forever grateful for that extension.

Most people forget that the Jews who founded the modern state of Israel did not all come from Eastern Europe.

David Ben-Gurion was from London by way of Oxford.

Moshe Dayan was a Sandhurst man; his trademark eyepatch came courtesy of the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944.

And Golda Meir was really Golda Myerson, from Long Island.

One of the few actual “bilu” (Jews born and raised in the actual state of Israel before independence in 1948)? Yitzahk Rabin, who was a member of the Irgun Zvai Leumi, specifically the Stern Gang.

The Europeans, mainly academics, were the reason for Israel’s early flirtation with socialism. They gave it up for the same reason the Pilgrims did a year after landing at Plymouth Rock; they realized it was mostly an effective way to starve to death. The kibbutzes were the only remnant of it; the Israelis had learned by hard experience that socialism does not work effectively much above the village level.

OTOH, the Eastern European (mainly Russian) Jews were the reason Israel did not become a Soviet satrap in the Mideast, as Stalin intended when he instructed Molotov to vote “Да” on partition of the Palestine Mandate. They remembered that Stalin’s purges a decade earlier had fallen mainly on Russia’s mercantile and professional middle class, the “kulaks” (“rich peasants”) as the Communists called them. Most of Russia’s Jews fell into that category. About a third of Russia’s Jews were either purged (i.e., murdered by the NKVD) or fled the country during that period.

Add in the Holodomor “terror famine” in Ukraine and Soviet Georgia in 1932-36, which also killed about 4 to 5 million Russian farmers, many of them also Jewish, and it is estimated that from 1932 to 1939, Stalin and the Soviet Communists killed about as many Jews in Russia alone as Hitler and the Nazis killed throughout Germany and Western and Eastern Europe from 1933 to 1945.

Israel and the United States have more in common than most people ever realize.

Every individual who ever sinned is responsible for Jesus dying on the cross. He died and rose from the dead to redeem each of us.

Attempting to apportion the blame on Romans, Jews, or anyone else, is the equivalent of attempting to rank order virtue in a brothel.
