What I worry about is that France has 290 nuclear weapons with delivery systems. Great Britain has 225. If Islam takes over those two countries Tehran will control 515 nukes, nearly as many as China at 600.

When I was a kid, the saying was that the purpose of NATO was to “keep the French in, the Germans down, and the Russians out”.
Two out of three isn’t bad. The French left in 1967 because de Gaulle balked at letting the British have any say in French nuclear weapon policy. Considering the antics of successive “governments” at No. 10 regarding American nuclear forces in NATO, he probably had a point.
Keeping the Germans “down” seems to have been a rousing success. Germany today is run by the kind of granola and bean sprouts leftists who infested San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district in 1968. Go into the Bundestag today and you can almost smell the patchouli. No nukes, no army, and a devotion to Holy Wind and Holy Sun that exceeds the weirdness factor of the average American university faculty lounge.
As for keeping the Russians “Out”, that worked until Ukraine became the money-laundering center of the West just as Moscow was for the East- and the oligarchs on both sides decided they wanted it all under their own management. I suspect it will be at least a generation before we find out just how much The One and Slow Joe had to do with actually starting that clusterf**k, if in fact we ever do.
The point is that NATO stopped being useful or relevant decades ago.
Today, the main function of NATO is that
1. Its new members like Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and etc. are about all that’s keeping Red China via its handmaiden Russia out of Scandinavia, the North Sea, and etc.
and
2. Those same new members may be our last best hope of turning back the Islamic invasion we are experiencing now. Just as Michel de Nostredame (1503-1566) predicted half a millennium ago.
I suspect that somewhere in the great beyond, Msr. Nostradamus is joining H.G. Wells in shaking his head and saying
