JTC has it right. Iceland has the greenery, Greenland is the one covered in snow and ice.

When Greenland becomes green again, THEN I’ll believe in GlowBull Worming. Until then, not so much.

Thank you for causing me to link there; what an effed up name for such a cool (heh) site. I would normally assume from that it was another useless time sink pop culture/science place and I don’t have time for that shit…this place right here and another gunnie type blog is about the only non-news, “news” or business stuff I do online.

But to the subject, it is interesting to see an interesting, factual, and non-bugeyed screaming climate change (globull warming) website.

Best part is its mocking of the various interest groups who vary some in their details and their particular agenda but can be all boiled down to two essentials that they will never admit for their simple truth and simplicity.

        1. They mostly really do not think you belong on the planet and that you need to quit all that burning, driving, smoking, breathing etc. that your existence tends to entail; ultimately that human kind has no place on their perfect Gaia.

        2. They are so totally absorbed in this mission that they are either incredibly naive, ignorant or just willfully obtuse of logic, reason, and actual history that they worship a false deity and will not see or admit that mother earth is herself actually just an amazing mass of ever changing and evolving bit of Divine Creation that moves glacially (heh) from ice to fire to endless oceans to extinction to presumably, start the process all over again in the next several thousand years aka a moment in time.

“Global warming” is a true, if wildly overblown for reasons (see 1. above), one-dimensional and partial fact of that truth.

“Climate change” is the proper, normal, true and descriptive name of evolution of what He hath wrought, and that will continue apace whether we humans are an element of it or not.

So we might as well relax, without hating and wishing ourselves to be non-existent and give thanks, enjoying and taking advantage of His plan for us to have dominion over all the rest of all he gave us.

But yeah, way too simple and true, and does NOT fit the narrative.

Sorry, the “effed up site” thing was for BW’s “wattsupwiththat” site link…haven’t looked at the focused-sounding “surface stations” place but I will. Rules 1. and 2. are still all that matters though.

Son was always enamored of Iceland and chose to take his honeymoon there this past March. He and (and she) loved it enough they kind of wanted to move there for a while and ply his custom jewelry trade.

Iceland don’t play that though, you play hell qualifying to emigrate from the US to there, very convoluted rules and politics (including a fair amount of progressivism as it turns out).

With this in mind, it was a rather unfortunate tour guide who made the mistake of saying within my Eric’s earshot that he thought the new US administration was very wrong to deny free and easy immigration to here. Very skilled in debate with biting logic and reason tempered with razor wit, son left that poor Jerkson babbling and embarrassed in front of a bus full of witnesses, many clapping.

Iceland and Greenland were the first named by real estate developers to make sales. They lived on Iceland and sold property on Greenland.

And that first real estate hustler was a rather vindictive Viking. Hustled his victims (those he believed had wronged him) out of their silver and exiled them to the ice age all at once.

Surely Eric the Red was surnamed Trump, or rather Trumpson. A real estate entrepreneur extraordinaire named Eric who embraces the Red, punishes his enemies, leaves them broke, and is a true Viking?

Yep. Had to be Eric Trumpson.

Funny how the residents had enough surplus to offer up a farmstead and cattle to get the church to send a clergyman for their local chapel.

Every viking settlement had to be excavated from UNDER the permafrost. Pretty sure they didn’t excavate the ice to put their farms there.

Iceland and Greenland were settled during the Medieval Warm Period. It hadn’t been that warm since Roman times, and it didn’t get that warm again until the 20th century. The real estate was nicer then. 🙂

      • October 10, 2018 at 11:31 pm

Yeah, he was Thorvaldsson, not Trump’s…and his son was of course in turn Leif Eriksson. Way to fuck up my little parable Warhorse! 😉

It was of course still the narrowest of periods, the entire settlement never growing past a few thousand souls, and fading away in a few hundred years which were apparently pretty brutal…

“…according to a new study of glacial movements in Greenland during the time of Viking occupation, the local climate may have been just as cold when the Vikings arrived as when they left 400 years later. The finding may further shrink the area thought to have been affected by the Medieval Warm Period.”

Stuck it out for a good while though. Hell they were Vikings.

Katla is named for a highly vindictive pagan lady that killed a farm worker for wearing her magic trousers. It’s convoluted, but I think she was justified in her anger. Magic anything would be very special and hard to get. The farm worker would probably have had body parasites due to his work with sheep. Katla was not known for her cheery demeanor.

Of course when Greenland was being settled it was actually green. Then the Little Ice Age came a-callin’ and killed off the real estate market.

Yes. And a good article. One of my father’s friends was lost ferrying a B-17 from Newfoundland to Iceland, then intended for continuation to England. He was lost over Greenland, they believe. Another childhood friend flew the P-38. He lived to a ripe old age and had many children. His missions are irrelevant as so many had important and successful missions, and so many did not return.

According to the tale, you could run as fast as the wind and not get tired when you were wearing them.

Bardi (the murder victim) had used them to gather all the sheep before Katla and the Parson returned from their trip.

What tickles me is that the Left’s call for violence is driving Independents and moderate Democrats either into the Republican’s arms or at least away from the pols.
I had no idea Trump Derangement Syndrome would have so many positive benefits for the rest of us.
A number of pundits have pointed out that when a conservative wins the top executive post (such as Reagan in the US and Thacher in the UK) the Left loses its collective mind for at least ten years. Trump, although not particularly conservative himself, is effectively serving the same purpose at least as far as court appointments are concerned. Thanks to Harry Reid and his “Nuclear Option”, those appointments will reverse almost a century of Leftist bias in short order. If the trend of Constitutionalism in the courts runs long enough we may see a radical reduction in the size of our vampiric Federal Government and subsequently the National Debt.
      It can’t come too soon.

Apparently, there is “unrest” being expressed in traffic areas in downtown Portland, OR, by Lefterds who are stopping motorists, screaming at them, pounding on windows and windshields, and behaving like rabid packs of jackals, and the police? Nowhere to be found.
I’m waiting for this to happen in cities like NYC, Chicago, SanFran, etc., wherever “liberalism” has sunk its parasitic claws into the area. It was not so long ago that the Days of Rage happened, you know, but that had some real-world basis to it. This insanity does not.

Something that President Trump could have done, if the Kavanaugh appointment fell through, was to shrink the SCOTUS back to SEVEN justices, as it was before FDR (PTUI!) packed the SCOTUS to justify his unConstitutional laws.
