You’re not far off, metallurgically. Annealing metal makes it workable again, less brittle. Relaxes the internal structure. The short of it is, heat it well and let it cool slowly. As any smith knows and as our shiny friends have discovered, you can only bang on it for so long before it needs that kind of recovery.
Does this mean we can look forward to a visit to the pond? I wonder if Jeff and Jo can produce Cherenkov glow if things heat up while they’re cooling down.
Ugh. Having been a gun broker for 40 years I’m all for prep. But damn what a waste of natural beauty. And BTW black bears are pretty docile, my neighborhood of acre-plus lots is adjacent to a large state park with hundreds of them, many of which make an occasional jaunt through the ‘hood seeking sustenance in garbage cans, love to see them on all the Ring cameras, taking their time as they stroll through, not bothering nobody but occasionally being mistreated themselves through pure ignorance. Anyway, no need to build a giant wasteful container wall to keep them out and it won’t work to keep hooman interlopers out, so why?

The Double D now has the Triple J, Jeff’s Jacked Johnson?
No doubt Jo will soon thaw out.
Nothing like a simmering bath to decrystallize honey.

Applause!

Found this on the 90 Miles from Tyranny blog site. Looks like someone built their own Double-D!

Zar Belk!
Dang! Someone really wants to keep the deer out of the garden. And bears- because bears will really mess up your space.
Holy smokes. That has to be the most useful fence I’ve ever seen.

my friend’s uncle was killed by a BB while hunting deer
A schoolgirl was killed in her yard by a BB, less than a mile from my house
Oh my! THAT is so cool!! Thank you for sharing.
I hate it when that happens…
So in that Fort Bliss they cannot see the “indians” coming to kill them all.
It would be interesting to know what their ‘field of fire’ plans are.
What….. Purple racing oil is not used as a natural lubricant for those two?
Good memory!
