I was hoping for a nice check from Elon but instead woke up to dog licking my face ‘cause its time to get out on back porch. No rocket this time, but it is triple digits before Sun comes over the mountain. So I open up DBD and what do I see?

One, my old gunnie brain went straight to Double Action in the first two panels and had me thinking WTF?
Then I realize we’re doing Terminator language and understood that.
But two, and this I still don’t understand, is Sam directing Rhett and calling him Honey? Never heard that kind of endearment from her for anybody but Z-Man…
But in spite of my jealousy over that, thanks be to God, the Artiste and those like Rhett that step up and take up the slack for old guys like me who have had to throttle back somewhat…thank you Rhett!
An infrared laser sight and an IR night vision scope can allow a sniper to illuminate a target at night without the target noticing. It’s a deadly combination.
I’ve never served in the armed forces, but I’ve worked with IR laser diodes and knew engineers who worked on NV equipment many years ago, in my misspent youth.
The US armed forces have some nasty tricks up their sleeves.

Had a couple of people try laser sights in the early days of Texas CHL practicals, before they were prohibited. Turns out if you chew a hole in the middle of the target there’s nothing for the laser to shine on. I ended up with people running short of time chasing the red dot onto the hole.
I did have a beginning shooter who needed a laser because she had problems with her arms that made it difficult to raise a handgun into position to aim with barrel-mounted sights.
Uh huh. Lard on top of that having to recover from a nearby lightning strike last night that killed three surge protectors and UPSes (literally smoking two), my RV air conditioner, and our automatic gate opener, mostly all outdoor repair work… plus probably more on the grounds that we haven’t noticed yet.
But living here still beats mosquitos and humidity (which ironically we also have right now).

Must be a far better laser sight than mine. Yep goes where the laser dot is but hard to see the dot in bright daylight.
My red dot sight however…
I’ve never cared much for laser sights. It’s a case of if you can see it, the target can as well, and now knows exactly where you are.
Lasers are mainly useful for agitating cats.
