Cleaning house (as a metaphor) is always a good idea. Start fresh. But keep your eyes on the horizon and your powder dry.

They may be onto something here. We burn and destroy everything within a hundred miles of the border and let the illegals fend for themselves. Scorched earth! Well, they’re not leaving us many choices right now.

If we really want to be free of those who would invade and subjugate us, can we start with a wall between us and the People’s Republik of Kalifornia? Hasn’t there been enough warning that those remaining who still want freedom should be ready to evacuate?

Because we don’t give up real estate that easily. Much better to demote it to territory status, scrape off the local politicians, put Pelosi, Harris, Feinstein, Adam Schiff and Maxine Waters out of work, and put it under federal administration until it’s cured.

California can’t be cured, divide the state North and South, let the Dependocrats secede and they can have Hillary as their Glorious Leader. I wouldn’t even object to having diplomatic and trade relations with them but they hate the military so that all gets pulled out. They can defend their own border or be annexed by Mexico, what ever they like.

ExNuke: North and south won’t do it. Has to be more surgical. Cut-out the coast line from San Francisco to San Diego and lop-off Orange County. Everything to to the east and north would then be O.K.

When it reaches the point where Crazy Bernie is muttering about the problems of open borders instead of kowtowing to the leftist element who seem to have taken over the Democratic Party, you know shit is getting real on the border.

Secretary of Homeland Security is gone. Not sure if that’s a good thing but it’s a thing… I wonder who DJT will throw at the problem next?

You have to hold your breath.

Hold your breath after you exhale. A properly rigged sling can help you feel your heartbeat. Gently and smoothly squeeze the trigger between heartbeats. You should be surprised when the weapon fires.

Keep the trigger squeezed. It helps you get back on target, faster. Gently and slightly ease the pressure on on the trigger and feel the sear reset. Gently and smoothly squeeze the trigger again to put your second round on target and complete the double-tap.

Practice until you can consistently put 10 rounds in the bullseye in 30 seconds. Practice until you can do it with the 10 rounds split between two magazines. Practice until you realize that 30 seconds is an eternity.

It helps if your respiration rate is four breaths a minute, as you inhale on the magazine change.

      • April 9, 2019 at 1:07 pm
        kadaka

Now that sounds a bit confusing. Double-tap is for handguns so slings most likely wouldn’t be involved. Either semi-auto or at least a revolver is implied. Double-tap with long guns is a bad habit for hunters and a quick follow-up shot is something different.

Plus I keep reading in real-world civilian defensive shootings the majority reaction is “Oh crap I’ve been shot” and they stop attacking. Might be hard to justify a “kill maneuver” as default depending on jurisdiction. Better to train to a logic loop: If being attacked then fire once, recheck. Loop until no attacking or gun is empty.

“if your respiration rate is four breaths a minute”
Normal adult rate is 12 to 20 breaths per minute, without adrenaline. Where did you get this elitist stuff for the ultra-fit?

Double or triple tap. One shot to the gut — slows the target, usually mouth opens as response. Second round to head — preferably thru open mouth. Third shot to chest.

        Too Tall

        From professionals.

In position, hidden, in the prone position, waiting for your target to come to you ( you may have been there 48 hours), you don’t have to be an ultra-fit athlete (but most long-range snipers are extremely fit) to get your respiration rate down to single digits.

Even the most committed believer in themselves and “one shot, one kill,” has a second round ready to go (yes, using bolt action) just in case the first round misses, because they can get a second shot off before the target can react and ensure mission success.

“you may have been there 48 hours”

And there it is. When SHTF like mass riots it ain’t the ex-Special Forces handling it, it’s ordinary Joe’s and Jane’s taking care of family, friends and neighbors. They need skills for ordinary lives, like making the best use of their 6+1 mouse gun.

You scorched earth folks are forgetting something danged important. 99% of the lands abutting that border are privately owned. The landowners are not gonna be one bit happy if anyone tries to implement your ideas. Not to mention all the livestock and wild critters your ideas would destroy.

The fence ain’t perfect, but it’s a danged sight better than your ideas. It would stop wildlife free movement as well, but at least they would still be alive.

As for the illegal aliens, combine the fence with felony penalties on anyone who employs illegals, and the movement halts. Simple economics.

You might be a hood dude and you might even be right about the hood buckling under those 130 or so pounds, BUT

You are WAY off on the year, pretty sure that is first year third gen F150, a 1957 based on the grill and single headlight. We also know it is a V8 from the grill emblem, originally maybe a 292 but who knows what that redheaded engineer might have done under that hood.

Speaking of which you know they used a lot more steel then than now (geez new Fords are alum!) so it might take her weight without damage if spread out a bit as with that soft but firm beautiful ass. 🙂

After hearing her talk about using continuous bead instead of spot welds for the car that rolled, I would not be surprised to hear the truck has significant reinforcing.

      • April 9, 2019 at 4:46 pm

These discussions always take me back a decade or so and make me a little melancholy for this old girl. Nice truck well built by the guys I got it from, pretty much a Vette under the hood and some other nice mods like vintage A/C and Cragar 30 wire spokes that I added.

Last year for Chevy with the separate hood/fenders design that I favored, Ford kept that style until ’56 hence Sam’s ’57 having the wide body. Another change for me, I always loved the 50’s-60’s early 70’s Chevies but of course Gov Motors selling out to Zero ended that love affair for good. I do miss her though. Ah well.

My Dad had one like it but more original, came with rectangular door mirrors and the old rotted bed became plywood, was that old dark “hunter green” or whatever, came with a “metal ribbon” air cleaner. Later he also picked up the earlier version with multi-slat grille, had rear pillar side windows and proper oil bath air cleaner.

All that space under the hood, just jump in to work on it, and still the battery was under the floorboards. And just try to find anyone nowadays who can handle a manual choke, let alone manual throttle adjustment.

      • April 9, 2019 at 8:48 pm

Funny, those tiny round mirrors were one of the only things on that little coupe truck (not the greenhouse-like 5 window favored by those who prefer bone stock) that actually was stock original.

The body and frame of course were original steel but the drop front-end was Mustang II and that 350 driveline mated to a turbo 400 trans and shift-kitted 10-bolt diff were nothing like the 50-mph top-end straight six and three on tree it shipped with back then. Also, with medium-rise alum Edelbrock and Holley 850, Accel ignition, power steering, A/C compressor, electric cooling fan, stainless headers and firewall-mounted Optima battery there wasn’t much room for reaching in there let alone climbing in. Hot little truck, burped those BFG’s going into third at 55. 🙂

One of several things I sometimes wish I had back, not least of which is that 50th birthday…I thought I was old then but with Medicare about to kick in I understand better now what that is. 🙁

Complete stupidity, most Chinese food served in the US is a variant, at best, of Cantonese cuisine. The Chinese changed recipes to reflect what they could find in the USA. I’ve worked in Taiwan and British Hong Kong. Unless, you’re dining a very few places in the US — mostly in Frisco or NYC’s Chinatown, its all cultural appropriation.

I like sushi, However, most of the sushi chefs in the USA aren’t Japanese. Japan is the one country where I won’t eat sushi. In the US, all sushi grade is frozen before serving. That kills the parasite eggs in the flesh. Japan serves it fresh off the fish. No parasites in my guts, please. First thing I did in Nam after returning was stop for gentian violet at the pharmacist.
