      Hebdo

Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775, said in part:

…Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided; and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the …

…They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance, by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! …

A religion so weak that it cannot withstand satire or criticism isn’t a religion; it is a cult. The form of Islam these murderers follow is antithetical to that of the many Muslims I worked with in Iraq and Afghanistan. To those that terrorize and murder innocents I say: Bring it on! Lessons from today that will regrettably not me appreciated by those that need to learn them:

First, the government monopoly on the defense of their populous is dead, and its corpse is kept upright by the those that believe in the holy power of the state, Weekend At Bernie’s-like. The original concept was that the state could defended its people by putting its power at the boundaries (borders, armies, etc), with a smaller response force to respond to the internal breeches of its national character (police). The result was the egg-shell defense: hard exterior, soft interior. Well, the eggshell has holes in it that are convenient to those in power, not just in the US but across the world. Governments can’t deliver the promise, even assuming they were willing, which many are not. A wise people would adopt defense in depth: defensively armed citizens, now more than ever, are “necessary to the security of a free state”.

Second, how does one express the concept of the Streissand Effect in Arabic? Before this, few outside France has even heard of Charlie Hebdo. Now they’re going to have to hire a translation staff for their international editions.

        Chris,

Western values against murder, or unnecessary killing are unacceptable when dealing with rabid animals. That certainly includes orthodox muslims, followers of the Qu’ran and Hadith.

The commandment (for those who value it as a good guide to moral behavior, be they religious or not) is “Thou shalt not murder”, not “Thou shalt not kill.” Killing in defense of life, of loved ones, of the innocent at risk of harm or death, is not wrong, even for those who are religious (I am not).

There is no “radical” islam (capitals are a sign of respect; I refuse to show respect to islam and muslims). There is only orthodox islam, which commands death to infidels and especially apostates – those who claim to be muslims but are unwilling to kill, to rape, to behead, to stone their wives and daughters to death, who won’t accede to the rape of nine year old “wives”, or “beardless boys”.

For the true muslim, death is not only deserved, it would be a release, allowing them the pleasure of greeting their god “Allah” (at least until they figure out he doesn’t exist, if there is any consciousness after death).

Killing of the enemy in war is not evil. This is a war, every bit as much as that which was stopped – for a time – at the Gates of Vienna. I am not bloodthirsty, but I see that the time to stop islam is now. If it was possible to ship all orthodox muslims to an island and keep them there, I would favor the attempt. But we have to face reality – that will never happen.

ISIS is merely islam unchained, islam in its natural, fully-realized form, islam out in the open, displaying itself in all honesty, in all of its horrible reality.

It needs to be stopped, before it comes to those we love and cherish.

        Blue Quasar

Not very thoughtful as far as moral equivalence goes.

Freedom of religion was never meant to be a suicide pact. When this country was founded (by mostly Protestants – Puritans and Congregationalists) the destruction from the Catholic and Protestant wars was still fresh in the minds of the colonists.

Freedom of religion was always meant to be applied with some measure of intelligence, discerning thought and foresight.

The fact Protestants have welcomed most religions into this country to argue, learn and grow is not evidence that all religions are equal or good. That fact may say something about Protestant religious philosophy but that’s as far as it goes.

How do you deport a Muslim who was born in the USA? Or do you just send them to relocation camps after confiscating their property.
When you say all Muslims does that include Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Ahmad Rashad and Mohammed Ali?
I have heard about this sort of thing happening before, sometime in the 1940’s wasn’t it?

    • January 8, 2015 at 3:36 am
      Zorro

      Yes, yes, and yes.

And “this” didn’t happen before in the 1940s. Sending the Japanese-Americans into Manzanar and other “relocation camps” was a huge crime and an embarrassment. The Nisei 442 Regimental Combat Team is one of the most decorated military units in American history, and in the entire interment period, not one single act of rebellion was recorded. The Nisei were one of America’s greatest imported assets.

      “This” is called self-preservation.

We’re talking about Muslims here. You know…the assholes that shoot their fellow (unarmed) soldiers while pretending to be psychiatric counselors?

Truth. No more internment of US citizens. FDR’s treatment of citizens of oriental descent is still an embarrassment today.
BUT!!!! – – – if you are NOT a US citizen, of middle east descent, practicing the muzzie “faith”, here on a visa, be prepared to un-ass the A.O. I don’t care if you have property, or a job, or are married to a US citizen. Sell your property. Quit your job. Take your spouse with you (that is, if she’ll go with you). Because your visa will NOT be renewed. And the nice young men from ICE will be at your doorstep to escort you to the plane to buy a one-way ticket (with YOUR money, not mine). Oh, and your name and biometrics will be posted for non-re-entry into the US.

Oh, how I wish. But I doubt it will happen under the mom jeans GIC (Golfer In Chief), and the Crybaby Boner and Mummified Mitch Kongress.

Psychopathic killers fall principally into two categories – serial murderers, as in the USA, and mass murderers at the head of psychopathic states. Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy are examples of serial murderers and both had been seriously abused as children. Some but not all psychopathic dictators were abused as children including Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and Saddam Hussein. Sexual abuse of boys and sexual mutilation of girls is a factor in the widespread terrorism among militant Islam. Not all Muslims are terrorists by any means; I spent five years in Saudi Arabia and have good Arab friends from those days.

There have been three instances when really bad psychopathic dictators were defeated and their states were transformed: Napoleon, Hitler, and Tojo. Militant Islamist psychopaths can be defeated but their systems remain intact and another psychopath comes along to keep the psychopathic culture alive.

The Soviet Union died of psychopathic dishonesty, inefficiency, incompetence, and corruption, but Russia has revived under Putin. The oil glut will seriously damage Putin’s and the militant Islamists’ psychopathic ambitions, but will prolong China’s psychopathic state. The best hope to end psychopathy leadership in China is for a collapse from corruption.

The most disgusting thing to see is that the American press, the supposed defenders of Free Speech, are falling all over themselves to NOT mention the killers as Muslims, not mention WHY Charlie Hebdo was targeted, not call them terrorists, and then censor themselves (pixellating the cover of an issue held up by the editor in one photograph so as not to show a potentially offensive image of Mohammed.).

The American left bashes Christianity with gleeful abandon, but walks on eggshells and kowtows whenever Islam is mentioned.

Le Pen has the right idea – deport these paleolithic pedophiles points of origin. If the civilized world should enforce an absolute quarantine until this cult has withered into dust or evolved to at least late 19th Century views. E.g. slavery is bad, women are people, personal hygiene desirable. Perhaps in another 1400 years they will have advanced enough to be allowed out on a short leash. Alternatively, teach the meaning of jihad and leave a few thousand for breeding a improved version.

I believe President al-Sisi of Egypt got the answer he expected to his warning to the imams. Of course, it wasn’t the answer he was hoping for.

For those who say “Islam needs a reformation”, Google “Sayyid al-Qutb”. You could call him the Martin Luther of Islam. And ghis writings and exhortations in the 1950s and 1960s are what re-launched Islam into yet another aggressive, expansionist, war-making phase.

And it doesn’t take much to do it due to the inherent nature of Islam, which was designed by Mohammed as a belief system based on his own background. As a desert bandit, caravan raider, slave trader, and all-around professional killer.

Imagine a religion crafted by Al Capone to justify him being…Al Capone. That is essentially what you are dealing with.

In Islam, everything happens “by the will of Allah”- or it doesn’t. Human initiative is a concept which simply does not exist; the culture has a mechanistic view of Man that is remarkably like that of Communism. The only exception seems to be killing “infidels”- apparently that is a high enough priority that individual initiative is actually allowed.

In spite of what a misguided (and uninformed) columnist said in the WP yesterday, Islam did not “invent” the compass, algebra, or a lot of other things. Islam is inherently a “copycat” culture, which takes from other cultures. The compass was invented by the Chinese, algebra by the Greeks. All the Islamic culture did was transmit the ideas back and forth, mainly by conquering others and taking their scholarly works away from them. And no, they didn’t invent “zero” in math, either- that came from India, along with the rest of the decimal notation we use today.

Is there value in Islam? I believe all cultures have at least some value. But in Islam, what good there could be is destroyed by everything else the culture is about.

Like GT, I don’t blame women in Islam for their state. They are trapped in a culture which treats them as slaves and kills them if they try to leave, or even “step out of line”. (See “Ayaan Hirsi Ali”.) And the total separation of the sexes and denigration of women in the culture is one major reason it is borderline psychopathic by inherent nature.

Create a culture that calls for eternal war until triumph over everything else in the Universe, that separates the sexes and calls one “unclean”, and celebrates destruction as a holy duty; you get Islam. (Or for that matter, feminism and several other modern “enlightened” movements, like “deep ecology”, but that’s another subject.)

There once was another culture on Earth that acted remarkably similarly. It was based on the Romantic movement of the 1800s in Europe, and called itself “fascism”. And predictably, the fascists in Italy and Germany were very friendly toward Islam.

Birds of a feather flock together, as the saying goes.

As to what that says about modern “progressives” and their reactions to Israel, the U.S., and Charlie Hebdo… draw your own conclusions.

I second your recommendation that DBD readers research Sayyid al-Qutb and the role he played in the resurgence of “orthodox”, i.e. violent, murderous and rapacious Islam. He was a direct factor in the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, and consequently al Qaida and the other terrorist offshoots we’re fighting today.

Qutb’s vision is the “real” Islam, as ISIS is demonstrating today. Expressed differently, there ARE “moderate” Muslims, but there is NO moderate Islam. The so-called moderate Muslims are slackers who are failing to faithfully follow the intsructions of the Koran and the Hadiths, etc.

    Nice one Chis.

To Obama Administration call it what it is: Terrorism!!! To my knowledge the Administration still dances around the term. It’s outrageous to think that Ft Hood is considered “work place” violence and that Hassan (shooter) is still collecting his military pension for his high rank.

It just a matter of time before they figure out that our open southern boarder is a open door.

Have you noticed that after 911 there has been a series of small attacks world wide? I call them mom and pop attacks: car bomb here,a shoot up here or there or kidnap a school full of girl kids never to be heard from again. It all sends out cultural signals to Jahadies (sp) to keep at it. It’s counter intuitive because once we all think it has become a mom and pop thing they will switch to something big.

You are ‘walking the walk’ with your Mohammed Odalisque and not doing the talkytalk Chris. That takes guts in this day and age.

God bless and protect you and yours.

BTW, read up on Thomas Jefferson and the Barbary pirates (and Jefferson’s take on Muslims/Islam). FASCINATING history that isn’t taught in schools.

The thing about “peaceful”, “moderate” Muslims is: THEY (themselves, individually) may be all for freedom of religion, speech, etc; THEY may be willing to abide by Western secular law; THEY may be willing to acculturate to our language, customs, mores, festivals, education, and all-that-is-American – – –
    BUT…
There is no, repeat, *NO* guarantee that their children and grandchildren will also become Americanized. As a matter of fact, MOST of these ***ing jihadis are from well-to-do families who SEEM to have assimilated well. But when their offspring go looking for “meaning” in their lives, they quite often find it in the Koran.

And since the literal words “Kill the Unbeliever wherever you find him” (etc, etc, etc) are right there in The Holy Book –which is Allah’s Eternally Perfect Plan for Mankind; it can never be modified or criticized or re-interpreted, it can only be Submitted to– the next generation of True Believers will start doing the same damn thing all over again.

The ***ONLY*** place for Islam and its believers is somewhere FAR –*VERY* FAR– AWAY from the First World and Western Civ.

So, uhmmmm. . . How are we gonna do that?

How? No way…it’s too late…it will be bloody, at the time of their choosing.

All cities of “Eurabia” are belted with muslim suburban fortresses called “Zones sans loi” (lawless zones) where infidels, you and me, including police, firemen and ambulances cannot venture…They are ruled by muslim Imams, they follow Sharia and are stocking arms systematically…As the Houellebec book “Soumission” predict, the french muslims will soon form a party and make a winning coalition to get into power…it will then go like Turkey, rapidly go islamist and start exterminating non muslims just like a regular muslim state.

Aaaand dont forget that Looie Farrakhan have hundreds of terrorist training camps to lead all the ghettoes in open revolt if Obama dont get his third term approved…Who’s going to oppose him, the judiciary? the police? the army? The demon-rats of Obama already control everything…we are in no better shape than the Eurabians…

It’s about time we realize islam is much the same as the nazi movement in Germany. They wanted to kill mostly Joooooos, but islam is determined to kill everyone not islamic. How about internment camps, like WWII, the Japanese were much less a threat to our lives than the muslims. Plenty of open space out West or in Alaska for these miscreants. Nous sommes Charlie!

Is that a boy pig? It looks like a boy pig to me.

It is…all muslims are boy pedophiles by definition they all start in life by being molested by their uncles and big brothers then doing the same to their nephews and little brothers. And that explain the mystery of why so many Saudis of upper class are black when the sharia law ordered all the imported slaves to be emasculated before entering the umma and Mohamed and contemporaries were all lily white.
They had an exception for the boy lovers and when those grew up, many were bisexual and bred a lot of blacks in the royal bloodlines.
