Other than grunts, engineers are the best capable to destroy things.
Having worked extensively with both, IMHO the grunts are generally far better cooks.
Some engineer invented MREs. Grunts can make them edible.
Actually, I think it was one of Michelle Obama’s first attempts at changing America’s dietary habits…
…But yeah, of all the people in the Military, Grunts(Infantrymen for the civilians here)are by far the most capable cooks…
And that includes the 92G’s….
It’s amazing what the line cooks can inspire by shear revulsion.
Engineers trained as grunts take it up a notch.
I work with enginerds day in & out… Keeping them from destroying things (whether by accident or design) is like herding cats.
I’m not destroying anything. I just keep improving it until it doesn’t work anymore. This philosophy works for broken toasters and computer code.
Or, as Scott Adams put it, “Normal people say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Engineers say if it ain’t not broke it doesn’t have enough features yet.”
damn this lack of an edit
kinda like it…
While I am sure that Sam has a treasure trove of skills to pass on to her daughters, methinks cooking is not one of them.
They’ll make fine rocket scientists.
Jo’s a pretty sharp ‘bot (in more ways than one, that ass!) so I’m guessing she’s right on what that pigeon now actually is after launch and re-entry at the hands of the best engineer and the worst cook in Texas.
(snicker) I’m just going to stand back and listen. And then go out to eat.
As is every parent’s wish that their children do better than them, may Kiko become a better cook than her mom. (and that’s not really a high hurdle to overcome)
Now let’s see her pull a Superman and used shaped charges to compress it into diamond. Who doesn’t like a capable demolition engineer?
Love the southern exposure view of the two, Might wish to request grandma give Kiko a few cooking lessons. Love most Japanese cuisine. The less said about bean curl rot, the better.
Bean curl? Or bean curd?
Hey! I kinda like tofu – at least I like chunks of it swimming amongst the veggie greens in my omiso!
Jo hasn’t been around for Thanksgiving yet has she?
Also, remember that if it ain’t broke
It hasn’t yet been issued to the infantry….
But if you REALLY want to see something get adulterated, give it to the Chemical Corps! We’ll choke it, smoke it, fry it, then try it!
Try cooking a pterosaur. Now there’s a challenge.
Has Sky beern touched by “something”? Odd formality, or are we seeing a transition to semi-normality?
Whatever, I enjoy watching……from a safe distance.
That’s not Skye, that’s Jo.
This brings the consideration that Kiko may later make interstellar travel possible should she follow her mother’s God given instinctual genetic proclivities concerning the cooking arts and practices. Then there will be made possible even more varieties of places that engineers and grunts may go, see, mold, manipulate, and break things, for a start.
Touché , Jo.
I can’t imagine how chilly it must be in them there parts, for the gals to have to always be wearing so much to keep warm. Here’s hoping Global Heating helps free them…
They’re definitely overdressed for where they are, considering today’s high will be 98.
Thinking that thing is actually better as a science project than dinner.
Imagining Zed’s reaction when Sam tells him,
“Baby pigeon..it’s what’s for dinner!”
I’m a redneck so I’ve eaten lots of critters, but…ew.
Is Sam starting to create diamonds in the rough, or meteorites?
Maybe it is a mental condition, to reflexively believe the worst because everything and everyone is secretly terrible.
Most Democrats Believe Ocasio-Cortez’s Claim That She Said Only A Sea Sponge Would Believe
However, a recent poll shows that an overwhelming majority of her own party took her claims literally. Sixty-seven percent of Democrats believe that the U.S. has only 12 years to aggressively fight climate change or else there will be “disastrous and irreparable damage to the country and the world.” Only 48 percent of total likely voters believe the statement.
Two thirds of Dems are gullible and illogical. Believable.
Sadly, gullibility is the aim of public education and has been from the beginning thanks to the input of politicians who thrive on a clueless electorate.
Note that the discipline of Rhetoric, the study of logic and persuasion, has been expunged from the curriculum. In the time of the Founders is was a cornerstone of a “liberal education” that is to say the education of a free man. In their time the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers could be read out loud even to the illiterate voters and still be understood. Now such a reading would be gibberish even to college grads.
Does this mean that after twelve years, being as it’ll be too late and all, they’ll finally shut up about global cooling, I mean global warming, I mean climate change, I mean climate chaos?
Although, as a kid I was told that by 1980 or so we’d all be doomed, let’s all agree that the new, revised cut-off date is twelve years from now, so after it’s passed everyone can finally SHUT THE ‘F’ UP about it for good!
Once it’s too late, there’s no point in discussing it! Just hold the climate Nazis to their word!
It is actually a mental conditioning as opposed to a static innate condition.
One that is cultivated as John says by the propaganda and innoculation arms of leftism, and then fully exploited by their elites who seek only their own perpetuation.
But I’m liking Wild Eyes’ inadvertent labeling of them…Sea Sponges describes their absorption of stupid and their inability to reason perfectly. I’ll be using that a lot.
You know what struck me most when she first made that comment? No one rose up to complain about her insulting Spongebob Squarepants. Never seen it but I do know cartoon and comic fans can go rabid fairly easily.
Nah, he ain’t insulted; like so much of pop culture propogated by the left to poison our young, he’s one of their innoculators. Prob’ly a hero of Crazy as he is of the Zero.
“Several episodes of the series have been subject to controversy as well. In a report titled Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing, which documents the increase in potentially violent, profane, and sexual content in children’s programming, the Parents Television Council, a watchdog media group, claimed the season 2 SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Sailor Mouth” was an implicit attempt to promote and satirize use of profanity among children, while “SpongeBob’s Last Stand” and “Selling Out” have received criticism for promoting environmentalism and left-wing politics due to their negative portrayal of big business. “SpongeBob, You’re Fired”, a 2013 season 9 episode, gained heavy controversy and sparked a political debate over its portrayal of unemployment; after Fox News and the New York Post commented on the episode, Media Matters for America accused the two organizations of using the episode to “attack the social safety net”. This statement was echoed by Al Sharpton, who claimed conservatives’ “new hero” to be “a sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea”
Kids grow up so fast. When did they get big enough to burn food?
Why is it that I can easily imagine Sam using a few cases of squabs and a deep firer to bombard the next antifa crowd to rush the wire at the ranch, under the legal fig leaf of “feeding” them.
“Deep firer”. That’s funny right there.
Others fry thing in fryers.
Sam Fires them.
Hence “Deep Firer”.
Not found on Earth?
Has Jo even heard of Leilani Estates?
