make Mexico Great. Give them back their Mexicans.

    https://humanevents.com/2006/05/08/mexicos-immigration-law-lets-try-it-here-at-home/
    (statutes discussed)
If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.

We looked at the immigration provisions of the Mexican constitution. [1] Now let’s look at Mexico’s main immigration law.

Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:

Foreigners are admitted into Mexico “according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress.” (Article 32)

Immigration officials must “ensure” that “immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents. (Article 34)

Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)

The Secretary of Governance may “suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest.” (Article 38)

I hope you realize that the likelihood of such laws actually BEING ENACTED are significantly less than that of the senior Muslim officials in both Mecca AND Medina coming out of the closet as Evangelical Christians.

      • NotYetInACamp

The laws that exist now can legally and constitutionally be applied to get all or most of the same results

  • JTC

For more than a decade (and buried somewhere from that time in the old dead blog) I have said,

Slam the immigration door shut. Totally. Permanently. It’s the only way.

But everyone will want exceptions, even Trump. And in this case the exception doesn’t prove the rule, it destroys it.

  • GOP/Democrats Slip Amnesty for 1K Liberian Nationals into Defense Budget

It’s a handful who’ve been allowed here since 1991, by now they have children and grandchildren who are US citizens, and they have to have behaved themselves to qualify. It’s a small mercy slipped into a giant dog’s breakfast with a lot of good pieces. Not an issue, nothing like what’s streaming across the southern border.

    • JTC

Hence Trump’s “You’d STOP immigration?” in the ‘toon. Not to mention a certain Easter European immigrant in residence right there at the WH.

Oh, and that “not an issue” for a few thousand Africans? How many places do you suppose might meet that criteria? Many people from many places will have their champions, including those visa programs intended for productive comers which are often sold to the highest bidder. The keepers of the scruffy back gate and the flashy front door are biased or corrupt or both.

Slam the doors shut, totally and completely. It’s the only way. Sam’s P party knows that. Does anyone in the D’s and R’s?

      So,

America, like the Brits, are a product of the Scottish Enlightenment. Which reconciled science with religion. OTOH, the French Enlightenment failed to do so.

    • Old Codger

Is it just me or is the phrase “French enlightenment” more than a tad oxymoronic?

      • John

The Enlightenment split into two camps.
The Scottish Enlightenment recognized that there is such a thing as an immutable Human Nature and the purpose of government is to contain and guide it as best we mere mortals can. It also recognizes that the individual is the lowest common denominator morally speaking and thus the emphasis on the Unalienable Rights of those individuals.
The European (French) Enlightenment insisted that Human Nature is both mystical and malleable, with Rights bestowed by the Collective because those rights cannot be individually predetermined. This was the world view of Rousseau and Kant that was seized upon by Marx and Hitler to justify all manner of horrors in the name of the Community.
And it is the worldview of the Intersectional Left today.

I don’t know if Europe will survive the sustained mass migration arranged by Soros and Merkel. Thankfully there’s an ocean on each side of the Americas to keep that particular problem mostly at bay.

Mind you, as a Canadian, it doesn’t fill my heart with delight to see PM Little Potato planning massive immigration into Canuckistan while simultaneously promising billions to assorted dictators via the UN. We might not get swamped like Europe but the only reason our economy hasn’t collapsed is our close relationship with the US.

So should the US slam the door to immigration? Illegal immigration… absolutely. All of those special visas and DACA types should be dealt with quickly and firmly.

And build the damn Wall… I hope you get the southern wall done before you need to start building one between the US and Canada.

  • Woman with female partner got pregnant and gave birth with help of a male sperm donor and a doctor, except everyone was transgender but the baby, so far.

This rash of men giving birth, now with female sperm, is indicative of a host of questions for society to answer. Such as, if a trans-man or -woman dates a nonbinary person, neither male nor female, then the relationship is neither hetero nor homo. So what new words and concepts will we make up to describe it? Or since gender identity is a spectrum so no encounter can entirely be one or the other, are those terms now socially meaningless?

Damn, 2020 is going to be fun year for science.

    • Wood

There are words that still work fine. F*ckin’ weird works.

    • Old Codger

If an M-to-F trans hooks up with a cis fem, are they straight or gay? How about M-to-F with cis male? Or M-to-F with F-to-M? {deep sigh} I remember the good old days when there were innies and outies and the vast majority of couples consisted of one of each. Yeah, there were the occasional couples of both the same but those were outliers. What I want to know is what the left gains by all this wierdness? Cui bono? Huh? Somebody help an old man out, please?

        Gladly
The forces we are dealing with here are called Post Modernists.
When Communism failed so utterly and completely the Leftist Intelligentsia decided that the only thing to do to get their way was to destroy the Western Civilization that led to Communism’s undoing.
They decided that the way to do this is convince people to abandon Reason in favor of Force, and an analysis of every action of the Left leads back to that single premise, thus we see the deliberate attack on every norm of Western Civilization they can muster. The excuses for these attacks abound because they are simply not bound by any form of reason except that which advances their cause. This is what has led to elevating a true diagnosable mental disease (sexual dysphoria) into a civil rights Cause Celeb.
But any excuse will do, and as long as it’s backed by a corrupted educational system that defies it’s own mandate to educate, this madness will continue.

  • Mike-SMO

Oh, don’t be racist. The Illegal Alien job, benefit, and vote thieves have been very useful for increasing business profits for those who own the big commercial farm “gardens” and the “Big Box Stores”.

Then there is the “Compton Effect” [California, not Arthur]. The Central American “business interests” [gangs and cartels] moved into Compton [a “Sanctuary”, and a Black community, known in song and fable], and concentrated their efforts on local gang bangers, their friends, and their families. Violent crime has plumeted. There is tax income to steal, and the area is ripe for redevelopment [and graft[. What is not to like?

In California, Compton is surounded by similar places of desolation, so relocating the “problem population” means very little. Most American urban enclaves are surrounded by properous/peaceful suburbs that will have to be disarmed lest the gang bangers are too fearful to clear out of the urban cores. That would block the prosperous redevelopment of the urban desolation.

Savage, but orderly, Hispanics inside. Terrorized suburbs outside. It can’t go wrong! Profit! Power! Who cares about the Corruptocrats?! The suburbans can afford the new, over-priced urban boxes! [They will have no choice.]

There’s Gold in them thar Ghettoes! It is only “chaos” if you are living in it, otherwise it is pure profit.

I have no problem with immigration per se. Look up the term “hybrid vigor” or “exogamy”. Immigration serves such a purpose. It makes my country stronger. But the time is past – LONG PAST – for mass immigrations. In the 18th and 19th centuries we had a continent to explore, tame and populate. Such is no longer the case. Any immigration today must be to fill skill vacancies. I’m not even really in favor of asylum – either political or religious – as a basis for immigration. I’m sorry some folks have bad conditions – either religious or political – in their home countries. Their misfortune is no reason to import their misery.

As I said up front, I have no problem with immigration. I just want the newcomers to come in via the front gate instead of slipping in over or under the back fence. I also believe that any city that declares itself to be a “sanctuary” for illegal immigrants should loose ALL federal funding THAT DAY!

  • Kafiroon

    What immigration?
It is invasion. Rapes, Robbery, Murder, Car Jacking, Gang warfare and Home invasions all amount to us being invaded to take what they want.
They are just not on horseback or carrying spears.
    That I know of.

    • NotYetInACamp

No invading army, nor its entourage, nor its children born here, get citizenship in the nation invaded.
Paraphrasing Wong vs USA (1898) US Supreme Court.

It is an invasion. The armies are asymmetric armies. An army is an army.
There is a long list of enemies that have sent those armies.
This warfare has been used throughout history.

ne example: Mexico for many generations has had its government encouraging, advocating, and supporting sending its asymmetric armies into the USA to plunder, rape, assault, kill, and attempt to conquer all or part of the USA.
One Mexico claim is that the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo is not valid. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed on February 2, 1848, ended the Mexican-American War in favor of the United States. The war had begun in May 1846 over a territorial dispute involving Texas. The treaty involved adding 525,000 square miles to United States territory, including the including the land that makes up all or parts of present-day Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Mexico also gave up all claims to Texas and recognized the Rio Grande as America’s southern boundary.

      — And for this they have invaded.
There are Communist, Muslims, Latin Americans, Russians, Chinese, others, and those encouraged by Democrats that are invading the USA to fundamentally change the USA.
Recall “Unrestricted Warfare” by Chinese Communist Party Army officers. Alinskyites, The Frankfort School, so many others. To be a loyal American has been to make oneself a target.

  • NotYetInACamp

Let us recall that President Trump’s speech after he walked down the escalator in NYC, and his answers at the First Republican Presidential debate. Those statements and more are what got President Trump to make the Oval Office his office to serve the American people.
And look at the opposition he has faced ever since.
Yet more Americans support our President in his actions than the press and few deranged people, enemies, or ignorant or deluded people who oppose him.
Our President has a hefty group of enemies, foreign and domestic.

  • NotYetInACamp

This is all part of the war against the USA to fundamentally change it.
The goal is to disarm Americans and then kill them’
The Chinese Defense (?) ministerr once said that they wanted all americans dead so they can send in 300,000,000 Chinese colonists to take advantage of f the resources sand the existing infrastructure.
Governor blackface is attempting to start a war or suscceed in removing the guns from Americans so that they can slaughter Americans.
We are all Jews in pre WW2 Germany now.

Do you feel like a Dutch farmer in South Africa, yet?
That goes for all Americans of every style.
Act where you know. We are all Virginians now.

    • Old Codger

Do you feel like a Dutch farmer in South Africa, yet?

Not quite but I’m getting there. I don’t HAVE tobe a Virginian. I’m a Texan; 2nd generation born here. I live on the front lines.

Any city or county that declares itself a sanctuary for Illegal Immigrants FOREIGN INVADERS ought to lose any/all federal funding (or non-financial assistance including utility payments for any/all federal facilities in said community including military installations) effective the date of the resolution. States passing legislation enabling – or even encouraging – such “resolutions” should also lose any/all forms of federal assistance effective the date such legislation becomes effective (to give the morons in the capital time to reconsider).

Yeah, I know. Such bills would have to go through the House and so do not stand the chance of a snowflake on the casing of a nuclear device.

      • NotYetInACamp

Texas. You are on the front lines.
I remember telling an Iowa congressman
about the regular murders going on in Texas on the borders of ranchers, and of the influx of drugs and illegal invaders across the border. I drew a blank from him. It was so sad he and the Congress were so ignorant. Late on a trip to North Carolina I saw mobile homes ( trailers) set up for the mostly illegal chicken processor workers.

This guy gets a lot on what the problems are. he is wrong in s many of his videos where he suggests solutions. But I applaud where he is right.
With what he sees, there is no reason to open the borders.
He is leftists, but, he sees much that is useful and important to understand. Even if he is wrong on much.
