    Cluster munitions (APAM, Rockeye, DPICM).

The bomblets that do not detonate on impact make for a very effective minefield.

The ones that bounce up on hitting the ground and then detonate just below waist high are a mobility kill, a psychological deterrent, and cleanse the gene pool.

Respect is earned, not merely given “because”. Respect is also a two way street, you get as much as you give. That’s why the term often used is “mutual respect”.

    • PaulS

I could be wrong thinking here, but I have lived with the principle of giving humans the benefit of respect by default, as children of God, but if they do something to lose that respect it may take an act of God to get it back. So far it’s worked out, the only problem being those that have lost it, seem to have absolutely no interest in doing anything to restore it, and always continue with the type of actions that only confirm they deserve no respect at all.

Ironically, these very people often are likely to demand respect for themselves, while disrespecting the targets of their demands. Swamp creatures come to mind as an example.

Oh I have hugged the surly ground of Earth
And danced low between the sun and crowds.
Downward I’ve swooped, and hazed the stumbling firth
Of border-crossed crowds – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – Turned and revved and preened
    Low above the frightened clamor.

Hov’ring there,I’ve chased the shouting invaders south, and flung
My craft over hoards invading my halls.
Down, down toward the burning prairie grass,
I’ve bottomed the wind-swept depth with delirious grace,
And fanned the dreams of ostrich and emu.
And while with political flavored mind I’ve touched
The hearts and minds of those who trespassed my space,
Opened my mouth, and sang “Let Freedom Reign.”

Unless that is a very “special” bird, ’bout the only (fun) option would be a dump of “excess” fuel.

It is a defensive operation to prevent these from doing what their brothers (and sisters) did in Compton, Calif. Re-settling an urban population to a neighborhood near you. That will provide more for the Corruptocrats to steal. There ain’t much left to steal in Chicago, Detroit, Saint Louis, Newark, Philadelphia.

  • Punta Gorda

    Low altitude passes get attention.

I was on a cruiser in the Adriatic as part of Billy [cigar] Clinton’s intervention. We were attached to NATO and were the northern sector’s AIC. Just before our OUTCHOP many of the aircraft that we had been controlling requested flybys as a send-off. RAF Tornadoes are quite impressive just off the deck at near sonic speed.

  • Halley

On could complain that 4 years was more than enough time to get the entire Wall built, but on the other hand The Coup would have just opened it up for invasion anyway. The problem is that the White House was successfully invaded by people who wish us harm, and The Wall (election integrity) – for reasons we can’t even guess – was not used to stop them.

    • eon

It’s more like the DC establishment let DJT do things that could be easily undone by the likes of Slow Joe. And successfully stonewalled any substantive changes that would have been difficult to reverse.

DJT thought he was using “the art of the deal” to do what he promised. Instead, he was played, by those who he thought had the same goals he and 70 million+ Americans did.

He did not understand that an oligarchy does not have the same rules and code of conduct a a meritocracy must have. Nor are their objectives the same.

To judge by his recent behavior, I suspect he still does not “get it”.

Absolute agreement as to the betrayal of Trump and Deplorables, and even that he is still in denial.

But I cannot come up with examples of what “substantive changes” DT could have made that would be unassailable and irreversible?

        • eon

          1. If he had pushed hard to get rid of the ACA, that would have required the same sort of effort to reverse it that it took to make it the law to begin with.

          2. A permanent realignment of U.S. responsibilities toward NATO and vice-versa would have been a treaty-level change. Again, very difficult to reverse.

          3. A permanent change in “environmental” policy toward nuclear energy and restricting the powers of the EPA. Making it a true “protection agency” rather than an agitprop/terror squad for the deep-ecology fanatics, which it has been from the start.

          4. A similar realignment of the “priorities” of BATFET, or even abolishing the agency entirely. FBI already does the background checks, ICC and CPSC could handle the interstate commerce side. BATFET is not merely dangerous to the Constitution, it has been superfluous from its beginnings in 1934.

          5. Pursuant to (4), closing down Federal agencies whose activities are needless duplications of other agencies, are inimical to the Constitution, have no actual useful purpose, or two or more of the above. They mainly exist as ways for the elected elite to impose their will on the public, plus of course the mad battles of competing clerisies within the bureaucracy.

Any or all of the above would have been legitimate and worthwhile changes DJT could have made in four years. But the DC establishment did too good a job of diverting his attention. And everybody else’s, as well.

          cheers

Cleansing the woke from the system to the same extent that Americans were cleansed in the fifty plus prior years would bring about most of what you say.
That would bring back a reversion to real science rather than the style of science that was created in order to follow the dictates of Uncle Joe in the CCP and all of their woke party line following political commissars.
The woke progressive line is never satisfied with what they have achieved, it is always forward into the new world with new ideas that need to replace the old bad ideas.
            They are always at war.
Note Arizona is now a Democrat Socialist state as per all state offices in the Democrat Party elections were won by Democrat socialists.

          • JTC

            Thank you for that list.

I do have a hard time imagining any of those could have been eliminated in four years of full-on legislative obstruction and media deflection by entrenched enemies of the Republic in the Deep State and in the Swamp…

Eight years? Maybe. And TPTB must have thought so too, hence the ramped up and virtually universal and intentional resistance and betrayal and incompetence of his mistrusted captains.

Still, his focus and success with the critical promises and platform of ‘16 is undeniable though incomplete, again due to Leftists’ commitment to almost total obstruction of his initiatives and destruction of the man himself. Immigration, ChiCom infiltration, Free World trade, and preservation of 2A rights and the Constitution more broadly were/are yugely successful works in progress.

But I think he is done. Tired. Disheartened. Disappointed. Worn slap out. And who could blame him? Lesser men might have eaten their gun long ago.

            Onward. CRA now!

        • Halley

A substantive change, perhaps, would have been full exposure of the Democrats/Deep State as the criminal enterprise everyone knows it is, along with full exposure of the MSM as criminal participants in The Coup.

Too much to ask? Perhaps. But “You’re fired!” was not heard once.

          Sad. Very.

          • Well yeah. And that criminal enterprise was/is a full-blown conspiracy, not by any means limited to Democrats…

Quite the opposite as it turns out, as mistrusted advisers were happy to sell their loyalty and their souls for money/power… deep-state, shallow-state, commie-state , D’s and R’s alike…always follow the money/power. DT did fire a shit-ton of them but damn he’d have had to fire them all…might would have been a good thing, in retrospect. But here we are.

Tragically anymore, it seems to be the only loyalty there is.

  • My Way Or -->

Hmmmm… U saw a bit on the “news” last night, a brief vid of Pelosi standing at her precious podium, with her precious gavel in her right hand, trying to pound it on the wooden block.

She could NOT handle it properly, period. Rattled it, nearly dropped it, LOSING it, NP, LOSING it.

This isn’t the beginning of anything. It’s nearly the end of it. Been going on for night 100 years and still never succeeded in takeover and now…. fading slowly.

    • WayneM

Dan Bongino describes this as the extinction burst of leftism. I hope he’s right & I pray they don’t destroy the country on the way out.

    • My Way Or -->

Patience, my children. Patience. We must wait a bit for the finale. Joey Stalling’s (misspelling intentional) thuggery began to crumble during the Soviet attempt to take over Afghanistan and ended in 1989 when Gobachev said “We’re broke. We can’t do this any more.” and dissovled the Politburo and sent everyone home. Three failed “leaders” before him who couldn’t see what was coming and bankrupted the USSR, which lasted barely 70 years. And those who want to inflict that crap think they can do it better? They don’t even know how to butter toast without written instructions!!

You know what happens when a balloon is overinflated, right? Well, according to one financial analyst I follow, there is a major shift coming this weekend: either euphoria or panic and hysteria. Keep an eye on markets but stay out of them.

I believe (very firmly) that the current control freaks have no idea what they are doing, NP’s physically too weak to handle her job (can’t hold the gavel up), and that like walruses being pursued by polar bears at a haulout, they will follow each other right off the edge to failure and will try to “:buy”: their way out with more government checks, only to find there is no money backing it up any more. (Debt load now is appalling enough.)

Don’t panic. Just stay off to one side and keep your eyes open and your powder dry.

  • James/G

Seen the price of gas lately? It’s up by over 45%, maybe even 55%, since the election. And most of that increase? Happened right after Biden-Harris started reversing President Trump’s successful energy policies and programs. The DNC/PLD applauded the shutdowns of Keystone and other major projects, and monumental job loss that went with them…

Idiots and morons. And that’s being nice about what they’ve done.

  • GWB

Even more impressive on their side (so they’re belly-up to you), 100 feet away, just within range rules for airspeed – so you can check their pylons for hung munitions and the like. And you’re standing on top of a questionable 100+ year old stone tower when they do it. 😀

Some of the Tornado drivers in Germany were very German – follow the rules exactly, do everything with precision (when #2 comes over the ridge, he is exactly X meters behind and to the side of lead), without deviation. Some smaller number were very happy to slide outside the rules and be a real fighter pilot.

    • GWB

sigh That was in response to Punta Gorda’s comment. Silly system told me I was posting too quickly (with my first post SMH) and then bollixed the reply.

      • John

It’s some kind of glitch in the posting system. I get it too and if you repeat it may do it again.
Just persist, eventually it will let you in.

      • JTC

We all get that ghost glitch including Chris himself…

Yeah….I knew they were low when I lost sight of one as he passed behind the bow, obscuring my view from the flying bridge. (Top of the actual bridge)

  • GWB

As to Naomi and that jet… I would really worry about FOD with all those folks. Hats, backpacks, small children, water bottles, ham sandwiches, a thrown rock, etc. could do real damage to one or both of those engines if her pass is too low.

And I doubt that aircraft is equipped with fuel dump capability (no need on most small jets). Bummer.

(Hmmmm…. Given that Naomi’s flying, it might be equipped with countermeasures, though. And dropping flares could be really interesting….)

    • John

Dumped JP wouldn’t do much anyway without some special circumstances. It will actually put out a fire unless it’s turned into a fine mist first.

      • GWB

BUT, being doused in a mist of it is extremely uncomfortable.

A friend was ranting in a very extended manner at me again to never mention immigrants again. I believe that I had made the proper legal, cultural, and historic difference and meaning between the words immigrant and invader.
No matter that they are demanding to exist in a now that compassion takes some to, most every major event or cycle is planned. The invasions have been planned all through history. These especially. There is nothing new under the sun.
    This is a planned invasion.

    Nice flyover.

Applying thee law and constitution properly would rid us of these invaders.
That is not the progressives goal. Though with the money we have spent we could have helped them more and better in the nations that they belong to. We have a lessened ability to help them now. A Cloward-Piven strategy has been working with that effect. Yet they still demand that we open our bank financialization and export of jobs wealth stripped nation be opened to be their Elysium.
This has been an across the spectrum asymmetrical war waged against the American and Western people that they are trying to erase from the face of this Earth. And even then the progressives would demand more. It would be time to build their paradise. I say they will build or extend their tyrannies.

    • JTC

      NotYet…

Recall a commenter linked to an essay the other day about the “enemy you know”…family, friends, and acquaintances being the greater threat to personal safety and well-being than the known external enemies on the broader stage…

I kind of poo-pooed that, and in most cases think that people you are close to are highly unlikely to turn against you violently.

I might make another exception similar to eon’s, in your case too. Worries me.

    • GWB

Though with the money we have spent we could have helped them more and better in the nations that they belong to.
I still say that the best way to help these folks is to help them help themselves.

Load them all back on an airplane or bus. When they reach their destination, hand them a McDonald’s happy meal, a copy (in their language) of the DoI, Constitution and a copy of a good book about the Revolution, an M-16 or M9 and 300 rounds of ammo.* And let them solve their own problems.

(* I’m ok with dropping either the firearms or the ammunition at a slightly distant locale, to ensure safe egress for the bus/plane and our folks.)

  • Pamela

Wonder what they are hiding by using the Illegals coming over the border as a diversion… Left hand, Right Hand, Sleight of Hand. Assholes.

    • eon

They’ve castrated the police, empowered the mobs, and now every legal gun owner faces a “psychological evaluation” every year. If they fail, as in “having ‘incorrect’ opinions”, they lose their guns, probably go to jail, or end up in a (reopened/refurbished) insane asylum as a “mentally sick criminal”.

The Soviet Union never had it so good.

The progressives of course believe that they control the mob, and that it will never turn on them.

They have witches, I understand. Maybe they can conduct a séance and ask Maximilian Robespierre, Jean-Paul Marat, and Antoine Lavoisier about that one.
