Honestly, it’s a really fun game. Only challenge is making sure they see both sides of their dichotomy at the same time. They tend to be dim enough to miss the cosmic joke.
I don’t think “dim” is a major component.
There are otherwise pretty bright Socialists who have the same problem.
The salient factor is cognitive dissonance, which is actually _required_ when your entire belief system is built on a lie.
I converted a 1981 Jeep Wranger (4.2L “feedback carburetor”) which had a ton of issues including vapour lock using the fuel injection system from a 1994 4.0L Grand Wagoneer. Believe it or not, same block… everything bolted up, more or less. I had to fab a few brackets but whatever.
So I went from getting 10mpg hard starting and constant issues to 16mpg, touch the key and go. So much awesome. Then I got divorced and lost the toys. FML.
Just as well, blarney’s just going to take them away anyhow. The liebrals are already talking about taxing any gas or diesel operated vehicles once their mandatory electric-only laws go in, it’s not far from that to see them prohibited from public roads and then confiscation on the horizon.

Priceless.
“Lot’s of stuff like this in Portland.”
Merchandise or vapor lock?
Yes
Embrace the power of ‘and’
Inclusive OR is powerful.
Vapor lock is bad but not fatal.
Hydrostatic lock is the one you won’t recover from.
I get the same * from a lot of people these days. NOW I know what to call it. : )

Actually, this looks more like virtue lock, often aggravated by ethical relativism.
“Objectivist?”
As in, “What Would Ayn Rand Wear?”
“Vapor lock”. Haven’t heard that since forever. But then I haven’t had a carb problem since that same forever. No carb.

Being confronted with opposing beliefs may vapor lock some of them, but I think most will auto default to calling “Raacisst!”.
I think there are not too many that would vapor lock in recognition of the dichotomy. I think most will go for their main response. “Raacisst!”
Vapid. Describes many. Good thing there’s more of us.
Wow. The site said i double posted. Turned the internet off and got more coffee and no comment showing, so I tried again. Now there are two. Heh1
