Read a little closer. It will not end well, true, but fairly often, the poor ending can be put off long enough for many of the worst offenders to have enjoyed a fairly long life of lording it over the slaves, uh, I mean “citizens”.
If you only care about yourself, literally no one else, and you have confidence that you truly are among those who are gifted at maintaining power, dictatorship can work pretty well for you.
Now, it all crashes horribly at some point. Large body count, economic devastation, etc, etc. But note that first requirement – “If you *only* care about yourself”. If you can just kick the can on the crashing long enough, well, you don’t care about that.
Only societies that consistently deal with authoritarian horrible people QUICKLY (historically speaking) prosper for long. We did that for a while… but we stopped a sometime in the last few generations. We desperately need to start again ASAP.

I’d just settle for rolling back the calendar to 1911.
No 3 letter agencies, no direct election of senators, the gold standard, no Prohibition or wimins rights.
If we really _need_ these things we can debate and vote on it again, but at least we will know the outcome instead of taking the Progressives’ worthless word for it.

On the scale of social change he’s already talking about, the number of “wimmins with bang sticks” is barely above a rounding error. The number of “wimmins with bang sticks” that would actually fight at the social level is, generously, half that size, and they’d probably be split fairly evenly, too.
(Yes, really. For the first few years I heard anyone making the case for women’s voting rights being a mistake, a significant portion of the people I heard making the case *were women*, and I’d argue that they were the *majority* of those making the case for reasons other than stupid humor/shock value.)
If we don’t deal with our problems fairly soon (on the historical scale), women are going to lose their rights anyway, because we’ll go Islamic like Europe is (it is likely not literally too late to reverse the trends there, just by numbers, but the effort would be Herculean at this point), and the longer we wait to deal with it, the harder it gets (like Europe currently).
The other option is that basically EVERYONE loses their rights, de facto, like the USSR or China. Yay, the women will have company in their rights-less misery? Cause that’s so much better…

Considering the large number of participants in current nefarious activities, I propose filling shipping containers with the live offal and after welding them shut using them for barrier reef construction where needed. Or walls at border.
