A whole new appreciation for the Second Amendment, or maybe it’s the First in those two panels.

When it comes to guns, it’s all about situational awareness and control.

But those are senses and skills that have to be learned. Zed is right.

So is Sam, but those dawgs and bots won’t always be around.

So, taking gov permission slips out of the equation, open-carry or concealed-carry? Well again, regardless of the guns under discussion, that decision is to be made by the carrier, as it were, with the Situational Awareness and Situtational Control I mentioned above, taken into serious account.

Constitutional Carry then? Yeah that’s the ticket!

Those guns have no safeties other than those implied by parental disapproval.
No wonder why the Wild West was more polite than today’s society.

Some decades ago I read an article re a prof at Miami (Fla) U who assigned his criminality class a project: Prove just how violent was the “Wild West.”

Parameters: Period – 1870-1900; Area – Mississippi R. to Pacific O,; Canada to Mexico. Eastern city with corresponding population – Baltimore, MD.

Students used gov’t/law enforcement records, newspapers, correspondence, etc. and came to an interesting conclusion: The violent crime rate in the “Wild West” was HALF that of Baltimore. Why? “An armed society is a polite society” – R. A. Heinlein

The prof, a vigorous anti-gunner possessed of intellectual integrity, subsequently changed his stance and became a staunch 2A supporter.

Second what sort of trigger discipline is required for safe handling of those guns?

Chris — Smallish check direct from bank coming your way via USPS. Appropriate download(s) are not required provided a way to get them to my e-mail below is possible.

New topic: Thanks go out to yesterday’s two replies to my Gadsden question. While stationed in Japan in the 80s, the American flag was flown separately at the same height as the Japanese flag — except when it was flown half-mast. I questioned the reason why it was lower and was told it was actually higher since it was raised fully then lowered. Sounded like Dem/Woke BS (even in the 80s), and seeing the Meatball flying higher than ours rankled (still does)…I was three when they hit Pearl. Lost a cousin there.

That’s standard protocol when a US flag is to be flown at half staff. It’s never raised to half staff, it’s lowered to half staff. When taken down, it’s first raised to the top and then lowered.
Same if it’s on a boat. Then it’s half mast.

And a proper ‘half mast’ is one-third down the flagstaff, not half.
Far too many fly flags too low, even people setting them on Military/gov’t buildings who should know better.

All the minions got the results including polls and commentary in the can for Nov 8 too. They have their facts prepared irregardless of real world. We should anticipate, plan, and prepare for worst case scenario in that regard, and know exactly what will be our response to “if this, then that”.
      Prepare now.

    In Texas? https://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2022/07/25/gun-mounted-on-robot-dog/

It seems to be a “Man in the Loop” system which gets around some of the automation concerns. The “high mount” still seems to provide problems for the motility system. A”hot” laser seems more generally useful if there is sufficient power available. A multi-frequency (multi color) laser would provide better images and a “warning” mode. That might be useful for dealing with voles and squirrels in the garden as well as the coyote family in my neighbor’s (way) back yard.
