He’s shooting the Kalashnikov he just picked up. A gun that will cycle with blanks also shouldn’t have a muzzle flash either.
It will if it’s a prop gun like they use in the movies. They open the gas port and add a constrictor in the muzzle. It allows enough gas pressure to cycle the action with blanks, but there’s enough of an opening to let out some flame and smoke at the muzzle. So all theories remain on the table.
At least a couple actors have been killed with blanks.

My best bud the E-5 says that as part of OPFOR in Team Spirit ’85 in ROK he used AKs with blanks and an adaptor, both standard Red Army issue. And that they generated a hellacious muzzle flash about four feet long and two feet across. Which looks a lot like what CM showed here.
He also states that the sheer size and intensity of the muzzle flash made everybody on the “blue” side in front of it freeze for several seconds, which isn’t a good thing when you’re being shot at, even in an exercise.
The blank adaptor for the AK is a tube that screws on the muzzle that’s barely larger than the outside of the barrel, unlike the “big red box” adaptor of the M16.If you try to fire live rounds with the AK’s adaptor in place, things will likely tend to come apart rather abruptly and spectacularly, according to him.
The adaptor is as heavily over-engineered as the rest of the rifle, and it’s not going to move just because a 125 grain slug hits it going at 2,400 feet per second. Which means all that pressure has to go somewhere, and the only directions available will be to the sides and straight back.

As long as the subject is visibly armed, the threat still exists under several states’ statutes. Ohio being one such example.
Generally, unless they lay down their arms and surrender, they constitute a threat as long as they are on your property without authorization. BTW, in OH, the use of lethal force is permitted to prevent;
1. Harm to yourself or any other person;
2. Burglary (the assumption being that a burglar who attempts a B&E when there’s someone in the building is likely to be violent);
3. Arson of any structure (which is defined as assault with a deadly weapon);
4. Attempted auto theft (especially of an occupied vehicle, i.e. carjacking);
5. Any other form of assault on an individual, which includes rape, mugging, and other “strong arm” forms as opposed to “just” armed assault.
In short, Ohio’s legal doctrine is “stay off other people’s property unless invited, and mind your manners even on the sidewalk”.
And yes, it has survived numerous court challenges, notably from “progressives”.
I don’t know Texas’ law, but I doubt that it varies much, as one reason Ohio’s law stands up in court is that it does follow the pattern of other such state laws across the country.

I’m tending to agree with H_B but with this twist. DHS sends in some “expendables” with weapons loaded with blanks to mount an “attack” on the DD. Zed and Co. return live fire on the “defenseless” expendables, it’s all caught on video and now the stormtroopers have all the “justification” they need to raze the place to the ground and make sure there are no survivors.
Zed figures it out and “hoses” blubber-butt with his own weapon not putting a mark on him but causing him to fill his shorts.

My thought as well, because I can’t see Zed terminating a Federal officer.
But their sense of invincibility and utter moral authority needs to be removed. It has transformed Federal LEO from guardians of the peace into not-especially-bright schoolyard bullies. With bigger guns than everybody else.
This situation cannot be maintained. We will have a general “house-cleaning” in this country. It will either be by the law, with a large number of Federal employees no longer being employed (and a substantial number behind bars), or it will be a “cleansing” of the populace by those employees, conducting an Inquisition orchestrated by the “enlightened elite'”, who will finally be able to indulge all their delusions, all their dogmas, and all their hatreds, with somebody else doing the dirty work and themselves watching, quivering orgiastically, and screaming commands at the tops of their lungs, demanding more blood. And more, and more.
For a historical context, see “Cathar Suppression”. Also “French Revolution”, “Directory”, and “The Terror”.
Keep in mind that those who lord it over us now may have all the faults of the French monarchy, but they define themselves as Jacobins. And think that The Terror was a “righteous crusade against evil”.
It is we they define as the “evil”. And they and their minions are not armed solely with repurposed agricultural tools.
Although I’m sure they have frissons thinking of what Saddam Hussein used to do with wood-chippers. And dream of doing the same to us, live, on Twitter and YouTube.

In the end, while I may not live to see it, it is my fondest hope that the “quivering” of the “enlightened elite” will be the death throes of the physical shell of their vanquished evil psychotic selves.
And while I agree that it is unlikely that a real Zed would under this same scenario kill this JBT, remember that he is an avatar of what real Zed, and the real us, must consider and anticipate. The time, as you in your comment and I in my reply have discussed, may come. And as in all preparation, one’s responses and actions must be to the extent possible, preplanned.

All our big cities are pretty much blue now, thanks to what I’d call “welfare colonies”. There are states with worse gun laws, but there are a lot of states with more 2nd Amendment friendly ones. Outside the city, you might be ok, but just like in any other state, it’s the cities that make the laws for the rest of us.

This entire stream makes me think about and ponder something I have said to people I know.
That is, that we are the back up for the police and law officers and peace officers.
More importantly, we are the front up for them also.
We keep them secure when they are part of us.
They must realize that. Our American people army, militia, people, however it is named, are vastly greater in numbers than any military that could be put on the ground here by others, and greater in capabilities than all of the local, state and federal people that could be placed in service. That includes Obama’s homeland army authorized in the Obama care bill and all of the newly armed federal employees. We surround them and have the ability to neutralize them as situations call for it. There is no organization to it. It exists. It exists no matter that Obama and others have brought in millions of warriors to fight it based upon their beliefs that they must fight it and us.
It will always come down to millions of individuals taking actions that they know are correct. But only when it comes to that. People who believe in peace also know how to get to peace. It is never through submission. tactics may require some minor submission, but only to get back on the field at a later time or some other greater gain. Situations, if they develop, will require many individuals deciding their own actions. Despite Obama and friends deciding to replace the inner strength of a country, which Mao defines as its people, we remain and will prevail. We are in an asymmetric war against us. It has many facets. They are persistent. We are more so. We have not even started. Many still have not woken up. Federal incitements to attempt to gain political and so called moral high ground have been seen for what they are. We see the big picture and act in our picture. Hopefully we will win this war before some of the possible scenarios shown and discussed here become even close to commonplace. They have disrupted the rest of the world. They wish to disrupt us and take us out.
Just some deep thought and pondering on ideas and issues that may or may not someday exist. Win the war before it starts is the best win, but not the only win.

I’m tending to agree with H_B but with this twist. DHS sends in some “expendables” with weapons loaded with blanks to mount an “attack” on the DD. Zed and Co. return live fire on the “defenseless” expendables, it’s all caught on video and now the stormtroopers have all the “justification” they need to raze the place to the ground and make sure there are no survivors.
Zed figures it out and “hoses” blubber-butt with his own weapon not putting a mark on him but causing him to fill his shorts.

My thought as well, because I can’t see Zed terminating a Federal officer.
But their sense of invincibility and utter moral authority needs to be removed. It has transformed Federal LEO from guardians of the peace into not-especially-bright schoolyard bullies. With bigger guns than everybody else.
This situation cannot be maintained. We will have a general “house-cleaning” in this country. It will either be by the law, with a large number of Federal employees no longer being employed (and a substantial number behind bars), or it will be a “cleansing” of the populace by those employees, conducting an Inquisition orchestrated by the “enlightened elite'”, who will finally be able to indulge all their delusions, all their dogmas, and all their hatreds, with somebody else doing the dirty work and themselves watching, quivering orgiastically, and screaming commands at the tops of their lungs, demanding more blood. And while it is true that we must learn from history to avoid repeating it, neither did those named events feature a populace armed on a more than one to one ratio with very lethal tools.
If your scenario one, a cleansing of fedgov operatives, does not occur, and scenario two, a cleansing by them, should begin, then the third (and most likely in my view) scenario of general insurrection and internal war (I won’t call it civil) will ensue.
And as you say “they” have bigger guns. But as I said, “we” have many more guns.
In the end, while I may not live to see it, it is my fondest hope that the “quivering” of the “enlightened elite” will be the death throes of the physical shell of their vanquished evil psychotic selves.
And while I agree that it is unlikely that a real Zed would under this same scenario kill this JBT, remember that he is an avatar of what real Zed, and the real us, must consider and anticipate. The time, as you in your comment and I in my reply have discussed, may come. And as in all preparation, one’s responses and actions must be to the extent possible, preplanned.

I wouldn’t put too much faith in Texas Law yet. We’re still drowning under a blue wave coming from Commiefornia and the south. All our big cities are pretty much blue now, thanks to what I’d call “welfare colonies”. There are states with worse gun laws, but there are a lot of states with more 2nd Amendment friendly ones. Outside the city, you might be ok, but just like in any other state, it’s the cities that make the laws for the rest of us.
I STILL say Zed isn’t taking out “Mr. Smith,” but something feral (or wild) that is threatening all three of them.
This entire stream makes me think about and ponder something I have said to people I know.
That is, that we are the back up for the police and law officers and peace officers.
More importantly, we are the front up for them also.
We keep them secure when they are part of us.
They must realize that. Our American people army, militia, people, however it is named, are vastly greater in numbers than any military that could be put on the ground here by others, and greater in capabilities than all of the local, state and federal people that could be placed in service. That includes Obama’s homeland army authorized in the Obama care bill and all of the newly armed federal employees. We surround them and have the ability to neutralize them as situations call for it. There is no organization to it. It exists. It exists no matter that Obama and others have brought in millions of warriors to fight it based upon their beliefs that they must fight it and us.
It will always come down to millions of individuals taking actions that they know are correct. But only when it comes to that. People who believe in peace also know how to get to peace. It is never through submission. tactics may require some minor submission, but only to get back on the field at a later time or some other greater gain. Situations, if they develop, will require many individuals deciding their own actions. Despite Obama and friends deciding to replace the inner strength of a country, which Mao defines as its people, we remain and will prevail. We are in an asymmetric war against us. It has many facets. They are persistent. We are more so. We have not even started. Many still have not woken up. Federal incitements to attempt to gain political and so called moral high ground have been seen for what they are. We see the big picture and act in our picture. Hopefully we will win this war before some of the possible scenarios shown and discussed here become even close to commonplace. They have disrupted the rest of the world. They wish to disrupt us and take us out.
Just some deep thought and pondering on ideas and issues that may or may not someday exist. Win the war before it starts is the best win, but not the only win.
