In BC a woman was denied entry into a ‘safe space’ and removed from the building for wearing a hairstyle that ‘resembled dreadlocks’ and was classed as ‘cultural appropriation’ since she wasn’t black.
In response, I’d suggest that anyone not wearing the ancestral native garb of their respective cultures should be forced to do so, T-shirts, jeans and sneakers are ‘white man clothes’ and I feel discriminated against.
“They don’t serve fried chicken and watermelon on a daily basis in my Mess Hall !!!” you have to admit, that was funny, it grabbed your attention and made you think, and anyone who can’t laugh at that strong of a caricature of something wrong is only going to perpetuate it, often by going the other way.
Whatever happened to “let’s just get along ?” and “share our diversity” ? or is that sharing one-way only ?
She is no cowgirl either. My daughter has nine cows that come and follow her at a call. That horse she “rides” on, (I’ve only seen photos) is probably drugged out of it’s head. Now I’m off to get my watermelon off the pickup down the street.
