And Jack isn’t shooting any blanks either … he’s gotta be locked and loaded and firing in a tight group for maximum penetration.

Heh … double entendre can be so fun …

Seem to recall a while back Ol’ Zed got hit with his first dose of “they’re not my little, little girls anymore” when he found out Sam had already put the twins on the pill. Not an easy pill for him to swallow.

      That ain’t protection, that’s dictatorship.
I raised my girls right and trusted them, and it worked out well. Whether the boys’ knowledge of my weapons had anything to do with it is something I’d have to ask. They did know that the girls were well-armed and -trained.

Hormone birth control affects the brains of women in choosing mates. On the pill they pick simp cucks, then want to get pregnant later and discover that they don’t want to have a child with a simp cuck, and would prefer to get away from the beta-minus dude along with half of his net worth.

its as basic as how men smell to women on and off of BC estrogen pill or implant. on the pill guy is okay, off the pill he smells like her brother.

Female ability to form attachment (pair-bond) may be destroyed by “freedom” to have lower risk of trouble sex with “interesting or exciting” partners before settling down with a good man. Her SMV is certainly impaired by stacking bodies on the way to 30.

Opportunity and consequences for boys and girls is Waaaay different.

Think of the 38 as a bicycle with training wheels. There is a time to take the wheels off; you don’t want to do it too soon or too late.

I dunno, five or six 158 +P LSWHP’s at close range is kind of deterring
That was the duty load I carried for years and I still think it was better than the 147 9mm’s JHP’s we got later.
Hard for Jake to choose between a +P and a D+ for really close work though 😉

I propose that we are talking about close range.
Certainly, a cannon has its uses, but also .177 pellet gun can be lethal.
    The .38 is PLENTY lethal… generally, that’s a cop’s gun.
Fiction, perhaps, but Ian Fleming knew a thing or two, and “James Bond”‘s weapon of choice was a diminutive, easily concealed .22.

“Pea shoorer” … my royal arse.

      Bingo

Slight correction. James Bond originally carried a Beretta .25 semiauto, not a .22. M required him to changed to a 7.65 mm Walther PPK in Doctor No (the book) with a .38 Chief’s Special for heavier action.

      Generally speaking 😉
If you take a shot at long range then you’re opening yourself up to a bad day in court trying to justify ‘self defence’, unless you’re protecting someone else from ‘death or grievous bodily harm’ or being fired at from long range with no cover available.
Defence Attornies will go so far as to say “you were wearing a bullet proof vest, why didn’t you just let him shoot you until you got close enough to arrest him ?” and juries are comprised of people who are either too dumb to get out of jury duty or who just show up from the hood for the free meals and aren’t on your side.

Overpenetration is a major concern for duty carry, if your shot goes through the baddie and ends up hitting a bystander, you’re going to feel pretty bad and your dept. is going to feel pretty broke after the lawsuits start and nobody ever sues the bad guy for starting it.

9mm isn’t my first choice for anything other than maybe an SMG and I’d still rather have .45 in that or a full calibre carbine or shotgun, although we had a case up here some years back when an Officer fired a round of SSG and ended up hitting a woman and child who weren’t involved. Shot doesn’t spread as much as the movies tell you it does but the further it goes, the more it does and they were at distance behind their front door.
Bad luck and happenstance, but you always have to assume the luck rarely goes in your favour.

As for Bond, he was a paid assassin, paid by the gov’t but still an assassin, he used an assassin’s weapon. a .22, even a .22 ‘short’ has a lot more going for it than a .25 but when it’s at the back of your neck or far better, the temple or eye, from a range of inches, even a pellet gun can kill.

That could also be her “How did Mom know Jack’s willie has been in my hooha?” face. Teens at that age are outrageously optimistic, believe they invented sneaking around, and convinced their parents are blind.

They tend to get the same look when they find out their old married parents are still “doing it.”

Don’t ask me how I know.

So, based on somebody reminding about Zed freaking out when Same advised him that the twins be pillin’ when they chillin’, not sure of the why of Sam’s interogative or Kiko’s response…

Maybe they saw that story (with pic!) of the baby being born holding his Mom’s anti-kid device gripped tight in his hand (“You ain’t keeping me outta this world with this thing!”)*…Funny but freaky!

There’s more to protect against than pregnancy. I’m guessing Jack knows better than to go fishing in more than one pond, but better safe than poxed.

And just because Sam got them pills, doesn’t mean they’re remembering to take them about the same time every single day.
