Not alone at all, JJ. I was drooling all over a Browning Citori Lightning over under long before it turned up under last year’s Christmas tree. It’s only 20 gauge, but hey, I’m only 20 gauge myself (short and “fluffy”). It matches nicely with Daddy’s Browning A2 12 gauge semi-auto and my nifty Brazilian 20 gauge side by side coach gun.

Only weapons I never fired in the Army, and they’re almost more fun than the Mark 19.

The only thing more fun than a Mk 19 is an M 134. However, there is something supremely satisfying about being in control of a selective fire, belt fed 40mm grenade launcher. 😀

Unvarnished history ain’t pretty but it’s good to learn those lessons.

For example, the Christians who’ve come to be called the Crusaders never used that name for their campaigns to recover Christian lands and push back the expansionist Muslim empire before all of Europe was assimilated into the promised caliphate. Odd that schools misrepresent Christians as being invaders… and even odder that European politicians appear determined to invite said caliphate…

I could go into a long dissertaion how that was the heart of intellectual Classical Western Civilization and Christianity at the time, and how Western Civilization was crippled and forced into the rotating Dark Ages by its losses and the loss of the Mediterranean Sea for transportation, especially of the food from Egypt, and how a seven day water trip became a 6 months trip, and how it cost as much to transport grain seventy miles on land as from Egypt to almost anywhere in Europe or on the Mediterranean Sea. As well as the millions of slaves taken by Muslims, especially white slave girls, blondes got a premium. (redheads likely were thrown back, wisely. 🙂 ) There is more.

      Recovery wasn’t even the primary goal. Until the Battle of Tours in 732 AD, the Muslims had not only conquered every Christian kingdom in North Africa, but were invading France;

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tours

They ended up being forced to retreat south of the Pyrenees, where they remained the rulers of Spain (“al-Andalus”) until. finally thrown out by Ferdinand of Castile (aka of “…and Isabella” fame) in 1485.

From 732 until 1095, the Muslim armies continued their assaults on Europe, through the Balkans and elsewhere. They also murdered Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land, except children and young women, who they enslaved.

In 1095, Pope Urban II was told by an emissary of the Caliph of Jerusalem that any ‘guarantees’ of safe conduct for “infidels” meant nothing, as Allah had decreed their enslavement or death, and the same for all “infidels” everywhere.

In 1096, he declared the First Crusade. On the principle of , “fuck this shit”.

      The Crusades served two main purposes;

      1. As strategic spoiling attacks to reduce Islamic incursions into Europe, by forcing the Muslim armies to defend their “home turf”. In this, the Crusades could only be defined as a near-total success for the better part of a century.

      2. To reduce the internecine violence between Europe’s squabbling nobles, whose “private little wars” were laying waste to the European countryside, killing the peasants who actually worked the land, and were moving Western Europe ever closer to famine and bankruptcy. Simply put, if the psychotic nobility of France and etc. were busy killing Muslims around Jerusalem, they weren’t slaughtering peasants and burning fields “back home”. In this, the Crusades were only about half as effective, as only about half the noble idiots went to the Holy Land, but that was still an improvement.

The Crusades forced Islam on to the defensive for nearly a century, gave Europe the breathing space to throw off the malaise of the Middle Ages and begin the process that began the Renaissance, and also prevented a demographic crash in Western Europe due to excessive mass murder by their raving psycho nobility.

All in all, you have to conclude that Pope Urban II, and his next couple of successors, weren’t stupid.

        – ” All in all, you have to conclude that Pope Urban II, and his next couple of successors, weren’t stupid. ‘ –

On the general principle only. The crusade that conquered Jerusalem had the opportunity to reconquer Asia Minor and set islam back tremendously, possibly taking back Egypt. The young knights leading the expedition voted in favor of consolidating their power and ruling over co0nquered lands as kings. They discussed and rejected the older knight among them who had a tremendous reputation across europe and could have recruited aid and men and supplies from Europe in order to conquer much that Islam had taken and join with the Byzantine Empire to do so.
A major victory was within their hands. They chose personal gain rather than the victor. The victory in Christian reconquered Jerusalem on lasted about a couple (?) hundred years until Muslims reconquered Jerusalem and defeated the Christian states formed around Jerusalem.
Greed and personal glory won out over the actual need for victory. At that time much of the population was still Muslim and would have risen up against the Muslims. Muslims reduced the Christian population over the succeeding centuries.
        Opportunity Lost.
Long term planning is important. The Muslims have no established beachheads across Latin America and plan on using them, and the aid the Muslims in the White House and the CIA and elsewhere did to strengthen Islam and distract America away from the efforts around the world after the end of the cold war.
This guy knows way more than I know on details. I watch things from afar most of the time.
        https://youtu.be/Dg_xr9WCwTk
He points out the Muslim Vice President of Venezuela and the Muslim ties across the area, OPEC being a big one.
Islam has sent people to the USA and given them full professional education to assimilate “good” Muslims into society here. Now we get the other ones.

Reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula was particularly arduous. Spaniards, mile by mile, took back their land from the invaders, building castles along the way to protect what was won. That is the reason one sees so many castles in Spain. Spaniards never joined the Crusaders as there was more than enough work nearby.

Liberals play this way, too. What they take is to be theirs forever. Rights they negate are never to be recovered. The reverses being made by President Trump are driving the farther insane; these things are against their religion. (And it’s effect is heightened by the fact that Empress Hildamort was supposed to be cementing the Permanent Liberal Majority at this time.)

I’ve really come to love the artwork in this strip. The characters usually seem so nonchalant while their dialogue hits the reader right between the eyes.

Note to self: Stop trying to comprehend this strip at 12:30 AM–it doesn’t work… It always seems much more clear first thing in the morning. Case in point: Today’s strip.

The idiot elites still refuse to understand the reason behind the Second Amendment was the Founders knew there might come a time when the Citizenry might be talked into giving up their guns with whatever excuse could be used. We are hearing all the excuses on why this gun, that ammo or accessory are not really needed.

They fail to accept the real reason on why We the People will never give up our ability to defend Family, Hearth and Nation is the elected and non-elected Can Not Be TRUSTED to behave and follow the Rule of Law as laid down by the Founders.

Imagine being before Congress and saying We the People do not trust you lot.
You are FIRED for incompetence, theft, sloth, avarice, gluttony and various assorted perversions.

IIRC, Suzanna Gratia Hupp addressed Congress after the Luby’s Cafeteria Massacre when she was campaigning nation wide for CCW. She told the panel right to their faces, and I believe Schmucky Schumer was on it, (Paraphrased) “The 2A was written to allow US to protect ourselves from YOU PEOPLE (points at the entire congressional panel) up there.

There’s a Youtube of it somewhere. She just rips into them, blaming the death of her parents and all the others not so much on the killer, but on THEM for legislating her out of her ability to defend herself.

It’s a beautiful thing to behold.

The only reason The They don’t want us to have guns is that We, the Peasants – er, People – might turn on them.

But we already did in the last election, so they really, really missed the beat on that one.

The They are so stupid, the don’t even know they are alive. And let’s hope things stay that way.
